Hopefully the hurricane doesn't cause too much damage. We don't hurricanes in Tasmania, but during the week we had gale force, gusty winds and rain which caused all sorts of damage. Brought trees down power outages. I lost power for over 9 hours. thankfully most of the outage was during the day. Always seems worse when it is dark. 😔

Hey Tony you might want to seal the bottom panels too. You can see light coming through the seams. Also there is clear vinyl you can buy that is made for outdoor use that you can hang like a shower curtain to keep the water out and still be able to see through it.

So sorry about your cast iron Tony 😢 I know how frustrating that must be. But if anyone can get it all back in shape, it’s you friend !! We know you won’t be “caught sitting at home” pouting about rusty cast iron ! You’ll be “in the lodge with Stella” working your magic !!

Bravo! Buddy!👏🏻👏🏻 I ❤ the windows up! It still lets all the light in and yet still gives you some protection from the inclement weather. That’s what I was thinking on that first side where you put the two smaller two windows side by side….that you could make them hinged and maybe on the other side. This would give you fresh air and ventilation and you could always put you some type of box fan in the door while you are in The Lodge cooking! 🍳 Ok next question is what are you going to do with the front and for a door? I bet as many sales as you find you could find some type of aluminum-glass door and that would carry your glass theme on through. As far as the front…you could build you something on frames you could insert in and out due to weather. That way you wouldn’t have to be worrying about it all the time unless you have found you a “garage type” push up for your front which isn’t to expensive. Bet you could if you looked.(2nd handed or going out of business sale or a person who just has an old on me.) You know us Southerners keep things just knowing we might use them again one day. Put the call out and see whatever you decide on and let people help you look! 😂 Oh and the shirt doesn’t make you look fat…the shirt makes you look HOT!🥵 Now I know how you feel because today doesn’t feel like the first day of Fall but it does fill like a blessed day to be alive! By golly if I lived up that way I'd help you with those windows!! I would even help re-season some of those pots and pans!! I was thinking of your lodge with this storm forming! I'm glad you're getting a jump on it!!

That Lodge is gonna be a palace when you're all done! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project with the hinged windows and ventilation so you don't die of heat stroke in there. Those windows are fantastic...I love them🙂 The new shirts are awesome! So sorry about your devastation!!! So much work goes into cleaning and seasoning cast iron ! Could you put the solid sides on hinges and open when your in there and drop down when your not ! Seems like that would work to keep air coming in and keep weather out ! Just my suggestion, I know it’s heartbreaking! Blessings to you !

How about some outside shades that you can raise & lower? Just a thought. You could keep it open, but cover with little effort. Have a way to hook or latch when they are down.

I’m sorry buddy. But you know as well as I do you are not fixing to quit what you have found a passion for something in LIFE! It’s rare many people do! This page was not only for you but it’s also for all us, as well!! We are FAMILY‼️ I knew water and cast iron wasn’t going to mix but Tony Ray in the grand scheme of LIFE this is fixable!!!! YOU ARE A VERY INTELLIGENT, HARD WORKING and DETERMINED TH-camR/FRIEND TO US ALL‼️❤️💜💙🩷 We all wish we could physically come help you fix this problem but this is not feasible but WE ARE WITH YOU!!!! I wanted to give you time to work through your feelings about it and figure in which direction you needed to go to make THE LODGE more water proof…(I don’t have the answers but I do know any moisture or wetness will still make it rust.) When it gets to fall and winter you may have to pack the CAST IRON up in plastic containers in something dry like towels. Just a thought. But whatever you do….. IT WILL BE AWESOME!! We are with you 1000% and we thank you with everything we have! Shirts look great! Cheer up buddy! You still have your camping ⛺️, your channel and FISHING with some dedicated work you will be back stronger and better than ever!!! As my friend says…. LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE….. Couple of duck owners spilled their boat over at the boat ramp they lost what they had as their breakfast in a cast iron skill will later on when the. Tide went down I retrieve that skill it a week later. It was rusty but I've cleaned it up and I still use it today. So nothin lost.

So clean it and reseason it it happens....but don't give up

Make a bon fire remove the wood handles and throw into the fire and re seal one days work as good as new

Ok, its time for some tough love so don't take this the wrong way. First, quit being a cry baby, in this vid you are acting like a little child. Next, you have an open sided building with a storm coming and you didn't think rain would come in sideways when you get high winds, you knew better than this. And lastly, research storm shutters for your building, that way you can leave them open most of the time, but can shut them up when a bad rain is coming. I like the style that are hinged at the top and swing down to close. P.S. I do enjoy your vids, just put on your big boy pants and carry on.

It was raining sideways on Saturday. Sorry everything got damaged. It is a wonder that just the humidity doesn't rust your cast iron.

You may have to store them in a waterproof bins
