In 1991 Val Byrne of Glencormac was elected and Inaugurated to the position of Chieftain of Clan O'Byrne a position he holds to this day. The occasion took place at the 1991 Clan O'Byrne Clan Rally which was held in Lawless's Hotel, Aughrim, County Wicklow.

My grandpa was James "Jim" William Byrnes of Lake Shore Utah. Somewhere we have the Family Crest and Coat of Arms painted on an old wooden board in the shape. Certavi Et Vici. My mothers dad. I know I am a descendant of Fiach Mac Hugh O'Byrnes, the crest or coat of arms is the proof handed down from generation to generation.
The public records office was destroyed during the civil war so where did you get the “proof”?

However, my application was rejected as my grandfather was not born in Ireland. Is there anyway I can apply for Irish Citizenship though Genealogy. Request Help!
