Visited Prideaux Place today with our Historic House membership. Had a guided tour by an amiable and knowledgeable guide. This is where I heard that the story of the wartime letters was on TH-cam. Really enjoyed the 45 minutes tour of the house and a leisurely walk around the grounds to walk off the cream tea. Can highly recommend.

Nice little piece, the glider riders were eclipsed by their paratrooper colleagues but faced their own unique set of occupational hazards..aircraft goes down, everybody goes with it :-(

My father came her to train for D-Day, met and married my mother here, in the Methodist chapel, January 1944. I have little doubt she's somewhere in the crowd, celebrating. She left for America in June 1945.
