Love it here x
Went there last week, first time in 30 years, lovely day out, good work again mate.👍
Thank you for your kind comment. I was hoping to film around the lake but i didn't get around to it. It is a lovely little town and great weather for it. Nice breeze on the beach. Will get to Hilbre Island in the next 12 months. Don't often get this side of the Wirral.
Where's the onions and ketchup?
@@neilcunningham3280 I did ask for plain. I should have asked for Onions. Ketchup? Ewww lol 😂
No dodgy characters down on Middle Walk.
@@neilcunningham3280 was a bit too windy to chance it down there. The sea started coming right up. Couldn't see it from the hotel window, as it was at night but, it was coming over when it got really dark.

WOTW walked past you near the end of the video.
@@neilcunningham3280 Don't tell him, he'll demand royalties lol. I'm annoyed I didn't notice him at the time.
Where about s is that
I live 2 streets away from there
@@JoeLee-np8sq I have a good few videos from around St Helens. Let me know what you think. Big changes ahead for the centre
Interesting watch , Thanks for sharing : ) 👍.
Thanks for watching. More videos of around Workington on my channel.
It looks so different, just like The Blitz's devastation had been cleared up. The pub was called The Union and it used to have a street sign that said Cooper Street, which was there right up until 1990: it was white washed and forgotten about. I have always wanted to know when this estate was built and what was there beforehand, I think I remember the pub's wall being rebuilt, not sure about that, the mind plays tricks, that's circa 1975, the hot summer before the even hotter one. Yes, I do remember it, just! The giant slide in Vicky Park caused at least one burnt hand on the way down. Are there any pictures or photos of that end of Cooper Street? The only other housing estate, that was a clone of this, that I have had any family links with; was over in Parr. This Is Waine Street. I've noticed that there are large spaces, filled with grass that indicate where the three storey houses used to be. So, If you haven't filmed that place then it would be a good example of how near and yet so far those two streets are. Standish Street and Pocket Nook Street is almost a straight line., that connects them. Keep filming as this is really interesting.
Thanks for your input. If you want me to film around anywhere else in St Helens please let me know here. I enjoy these areas that always seem to never stay the same. A lot of new builds and estates all over St Helens and not sure if it is or isn't a good thing, perspective I guess. But it's always good to keep a record of what goes by.
I used to live there, opposite the pub, 2:31 shows my old childhood home, number 52. I haven't lived there since the late 1970s. I do remember the Silver Jubilee in 1977. The taller houses felt cold and the living rooms were always upstairs. It was rough then, but this is really bad.
It's a coincidence you have commented on this, Peter. I went back down earlier today and have done a little recording. I will upload shortly. Thanks for the comment. I'm glad to help you with your memories 🙂
@@markh8778 It would be good to see the inside of the two storey and three story houses, before it's too late. I do remember moving in there, but not moving out...just up the road opposite Pilkingtons' carpark. When were the porches and dwarf walls added?
@@peterwelsh3820 I'm afraid it's too late. Have a look at my latest upload.
He interesting when the Hardshaw Centre gets knocked down
I'm going try and take a more in depth video the Hardshaw before it closes for good. I for one will be sorry to see it go. But unfortunately people simply do not shop there.

Watched Greg Davies in that theatre in the middle of December. The heating was broke and it was freezing in there.
December 2012 I think it was
Loads of comedians like Paul O'Grady have said that the theatre is cold and shakes when the weather is heavy. Take a big coat next time 😅
Typical north west of england..grim...cloudy and miserable.
Grim even on a sunny day
What´s the point????
On the end of your finger 😊
It looks crappy
0:42 In the 80's/90's I lived at 30 Charnley Used to be the Crewkerne Hotel now the Victoria. I only mention as you looked back at it. 👍
Wow thanks for that. Do you still live in Blackpool? How long did you live at that Hotel?
I left Blackers in 2005 but we had the hotel from 81 till 01 My folks bought it when I was 13 but after ill health sold in early 01 but by then the hotel trade had faded. I loved growing up there, always busy with new faces, Blackpool was fantastic back then. I'm in my mid 50's now with a family of my own but often fondly remember my time there.

Why do you say the old cinema and Pub next door are soon to be demolished When they are to be included in the Blackpool Central development This is the worst video I have ever seen. Please do not make any more videos in Blackpool you are a blight on the city
I never said the pub was being demolished, but I was under the impression that the block from Joke shop to the cinema was getting knocked down as part of the new developments. Feel free to correct me. Thank you for your comment, appreciated.
Just wondering when did Blackpool gain city status
Neil, I guess my video is such a blight on Blackpool, it's demoted it's status.
Nice vlog keep up the good work sub count to 100 soon
Thanks Kkrispy. Means a lot. Give us a like
Elly said I'm hung like a donkey. What does she mean?
Nice of her. I'll ask her if I see her.
Did you see Blakey? You never see Stephen from WOTW in Workington
No sign of either of them. I hung around that bus station hoping to catch Blakey but I ran out of beer 😊

What was the point of you're video?
Same as all the other videos. Just filming things I come across. I thought the way this street was interesting.
Can I please ask that comments regarding refugees please stop. I understand some may have concerns but I rather keep my platform free of political discussions as it will cause divisions. Thanks 👍
Bring back Lockdown type restrictions for these visitors because of the Diptheria pandemic. Isolation for three months in a remote camp
I usually go to the butty van there. Reasonably priced
Are you giving them a recommendation?
@@markh8778 Yes.
I'm not sure what the issues raised here relate to this particular area. The Migrants are staying at the Grand Metropole near North Pier.
Blackpool will turn into a refugee camp
That hotel is right in the middle of a row of them this will see trade dwindle for the lot of them.
What's all the fuss about! I'm from Sheffield and this has been going on for years! Should have been stopped along time ago! Too late now!!
I still visit the park with my 8yr old lad for kickabout and tell him what life was like in the park when i was growin up. He wishes he could of seen it an why cant it be like that now he says. Maybe one day i say.
That's sweet mate. Maybe one day it will be returned to its former glory. The football pitch could be shortened as it's just a shattered glass area.
@@markh8778 I swear whenever i enter the park its like a time slip, the smells, there used to be a smell in the air , like a sweet fizzy drink smell, the taste if the crappy juice in the play centre, the sounds of everyone and everything, the BMX's an Skateboards on the ramps, even kids bombn it up n down them, i can picture myself with my mates like it was yesterday. I'd love to go back just for one day. 😌
Great stuff mate, the lads have done amazing the work theyve out in on the bowl, pity that drain in the bowl cant be sorted out for them, amongst MANY other things. COME ON COUNCILLORS, step up.
Could hear the music from where I live
A bit quieter today though 🙂
Growin up in the 80's , this park was my life, didnt wanna be anywhere else but ere, every single day. So many unbelievable memories, breaks my heart to see it now.
Thank you for the comment Robby. Volunteers have recently done a great job making parts of the park usable, the dips where the the kids use there bikes for doing stunts. I will do an up to date video on it some time this week 👍
@@markh8778 hello mate, ive actually spoke to one of the lads doin the work an i cant praise him/ them enough, to see that someone really cares is absolutely unbelievable, i hope this lad an his mates get some kind of recognition, not that theyd want it but still, to do smethn off their own backs and actually care is commendable to say the least. Pity the council dont feel the same. Silly as it sounds but i oray every time i put the lottery on to strike gold because id say to the council, name your price and id restore it back to its former glory , put park rangers in there , update everythn an give it back to the public, put a residents committee in charge with the lad who's undertakin the work himself a seat at the table. Wishful thinkin ay mate. Look forward to your updates. Take it easy lar.👍
I've done another video
