Hello everyone and welcome to a new video!
As I get back to rythm with the uploads, today it is time to publish the third high-speed train tripreport from my trip to Italy. Today's video features my ride from Milan to Florence onboard one of Italo's Alstom AGVs.
It was a very good experience, much better than the first one we had with Italo. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go check that video in the channel!
Coming up in two weeks time is a tour of Florence's Santa Maria Novella Station. Then, I'll be posting a few videos of some regional trips we went on from Florence, to Pisa and Siena. Needless to say, stay tuned for a lot more great videos coming over the next couple of weeks!

Do you know if you can purchase train tickets for other routes in this station? For instance, can I pay for a ticket from Rome to Naples and hold on to it and use it on a specific day? Or do I need to purchase it the day I travel when I get to Rome?
I would like high speed train when to travel.
Thank you for the video. I’m looking to go from Milan to Trieste. There’s a connection in Venice with a 20 minutes to get to the connecting the train. Do you think that’s a reasonable amount of time to find the second train?

Se non sono indiscreta quanto e' costato ilbiglietto ? L alta velocita arriva fino a Trieste o si ferma a Mestre ? L europa e' collegata non molto bene per esempio da trieste a lubliana in slovenia per percorrere circa 100 km impiega 2.50 minuti ... due ore e cinquanta minuti circa per percorre cira 100 km
I mentioned it during the video; the ticket was €43. As far as I'm concerned, Trieste does not have high-speed train services, at least by Italo or Frecciarossa.

Italo does not only operate the AVG. That train you went on doesn't appear to be one, but one of their ETR 675s.
You are right! I didn’t know about their ETR 675s, but this was one of them indeed. I also had a trip on one of their AGVs though, so stay tuned for that one!

The ETRs are newer I believe, so the interiors are nicer and more spacious. However the AGV was quicker which was cool.

We take this train all the time from Boston to NYC, we love it, doing it again in may, just wish our south station was bigger and cooler😂😂😂

Hey! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful. There are stops between Boston and NY, but you can’t really get off the train. I mean, you have a ticket with an origin and a destination, and you must respect that. In addition, the train only stops for 1 or 2 minutes. If you want to explore any of the cities in between, I assume the way to do that is by getting separate tickets. However, I’m sure you can contact Amtrak and they will be able to assist you better than me!

4:15 - You say that "not all service branches have the exact same route" on the NE Corridor. I beg to differ. I've been riding this route for 20+ years, and it's always followed the same rails, with the same stops between Boston and New York.
I mean, from what I know, technically there are a few different branches, but most of the services do follow the same route, especially between Boston and New York.
Is there luggage rack for each carriage in this train service?
Yes, there are luggage racks and I’m pretty sure you can find them in every carriage.

Im going new york to boston on this in a business seat. What seat should i select for the best view to boston?
When going from NYC to Boston, sit on the right side of the train (facing the front) for the ocean views. Also, if anyone wonders why the New Haven stop has such a large train yard, until around 1996 this was the end of the electrified part of the trip, and the locomotive had to be uncoupled and replaced by a diesel.

Buy the tickets online. The train to Maine is called the Downeaster. Note, though, that it leaves from Boston's NORTH Station, while trains headed south, like the one in this video, leave from South Station.
Is it open 24/7 ??
Not sure!
No. It is not. Closes at 10pm. Opens at 5am. To add you’ll see no train between those hours. If you’re for the Bus Station served by Greyhound and others right down the street? That one requires you have a bus ticket to be inside between said hours.

@@railingaroundtheworldytb If I'm not mistaken, Avlo trains are Going to be repainted 112 series (the ones that look like ducks. That prototype will probably be the successors of the one you travel on in this video
