SEVENTY 48 is a human powered water race covering 70 miles with a time cap of 48 hours. The race is between Tacoma Thea Foss Water Way and Port Townsend. This is the story of Team Fullsterkurs adventure June 2-4 2023. Our vessel was a Whitehall Spirit 17 Expedition made by Whitehall Rowing and Sail based in Victoria BC.

Summary of Team Fullsterkur overnight training to Blake Island in the Salish Sea. Simulating day 1 of 20 nautical miles from Tacoma Thea Foss waterway to Blake Island. The SEVENTY48 is a 70 mile human powered race with a 48 hour time cap traveling from Tacoma to Port Townsend. The race starts June 2, 2023 at 7 pm.
My daughter and I are planning on sculling the Seventy48 in 2025. We have a 20ft aderondeck wherry. I’d love to pick your brain about paddle selection, navigation, etc.

Glad you guys were alright! Good job on your completion this year! I studied your videos from last year as part of prep for my first attempt. We bumped drift wood several times during training sessions, but managed to miss all the obstacles between Tacoma and PT. Came pretty close to some moring balls in Colvos though. (Muskrat II)
