Ever since I found the whole #vanlife scene, I have had this dream to do it full time… but mentally could I do it? I am a fidgety bored person, who struggles to just Be, and went not working or away for a weekend trip, I’m usually found on a Golf course. So can I just Be and Exist in a small space, even for a few days without travelling miles or doing touristy type stuff. Lets see how it goes!

On a rainy autumn day, we took a drive around Castleton and the Top and Bottom Roads around Mam Tor and Blue John Cavern…. Controversially the owner of Blue John is requesting Vans dont congregate around the entrance of Blue John, have to say we agree, there are plenty of other places to park up and support this request as can be seen. So at the Vanlife Eats Big Picnic last weekend, we picked up a Porthole from a trader for a tenner, anyway, this happened today. Took the rear door card off, and managed to stretch the carpet and refit creating a recess making sure I left enough metal to sikaflex to… Warning….. Anthracite Sikaflex is not dark grey, but light 😞 so may have to redo that bit, but yeh, went better then I expected …...

Fantastic Campsite, Tackeroo Caravan Site in Cannock Chase- Only facilities are Bins, Water and Elsan Toilet empty. There are no marked pitches, you camp where you want.

I feel like we are maxed out now with our Renault Trafic and the amount of hobbies we have squashed on board, the addition of a bike rack and bikes, along with the existing fishing tackle and now Golf clubs… although I’m sure we we could Tennis Rackets in there!

Hi there…. Great video very helpful thank you. Can I just ask did the original light switch still work as on the video the lights started flashing? I’m just making sure if I had no WiFi can I still use all original switch as I really want to add this to my Campervan. Best regards, Neil
if I had no Wi-Fi I would just unplug the Wi-Fi adapter and join the cables using the plugs I interrupted the cable with

How do you find the bed being placed at width? Off to look at a SWB vivaro tomorrow and I have been trying to find more examples but most of them are the other way around. Hoping width ways will be comfortable enough for a 5'8 and 5'10 person :D
Hi there, without the little seat between bed and sink, I would struggle (I’m 6’) for anything more than a couple of nights, i sort of sleep on my side on an angle and there’s plenty to stretch out. mrs is 5.7 and manages just fine. Honestly I wouldn’t go length ways or rock and roll a storing bedding and mattress toppers is a nightmare, we had one first and then ripped out and changed to this layout.
Love this design, I have a traffic I was planning to convert and think I will be taking same ideas. Do you know how long the bed is? I know you said it’s a struggle at 6ft but do you know how long it is
Thank you, the bed is 5’7” and the only way I manage is that little Seat, it just allows me to stretch fully to 6ft plus, honestly unless your doing single nights, dont go width ways without the little seat bit

I'm really enjoying this series of vlogs. One of the hardest things for us to get our head around, was the days of doing nothing. I've always been active, working or making things. I enjoy having a list of jobs to do, but I won't do them all on the same day. So I have something to do every single day. Washing clothes and shopping is a right pain, but at least we have something to do. Keep at it, you might just learn the secret to vanlife. 😀
Thank you, enjoying making them… i can imagine, a small space does feel different than many rooms, but as you say its just getting used to it… I am going to do this again, but next time I am going to bring work with me. As Amanda says I seem to have gone to the extreme!
Glad you liked the Goyt valley 👍 I'm a fulltimer and when I'm not working and on a road trip I try to spend as much time out of the van as possible, going for walks, seeking out anything of interest in the area where I park up. When I'm in the van I can wile away hours just watching TH-cam or Netflix or listening to the radio.
Honestly blew me away to arrive in that spot, and the drive in too, I did record that, but my go pro ate the footage…. thanks for the tips, perhaps that the key, I am just not getting out the Van!

@@AdventuresinVanDiesel some days feel like 48hrs, especially if its crap weather, have no money to do anything etc. Main thing is, those days don't last forever. Always tomorrow to look forward too. I said this to you both last time we met, its been the easiest year we've ever had. And the best.
Today already feels like 48 hours :) to be fair though, I suppose we all want more time! in the end its just such a leap of faith

I was almost thinking to go for a car in stead of a mini van but this is so much more cosy and joy of life.
we started with a car and even though its a small van, can’t recommend a van over a car enough, hope you find what you’re looking for :)
