Originally road maintenance was paid for from a "Road Tax" but the money was often spent on things other than roads, so it was abolished in 1937 and replaced with the system we have now. Only you can define your capabilities. It starts with an inquisitive desire. Next thing you know you’re out and about having the best time of your life. You might be wearing clothes of a material you can’t name, but that’s ok.

Nope dont think so.....if im on the road im driving, not waiting for some lycra anthropod one cell to dictate what time I get there. Grow up and respect things that are a lot heavier than your bicycle.

Hopefully with that attitude you're not at risk of losing your licence, or worse, injuring someone. My suggestion is that you leave 10-20 mins earlier and enjoy the scenery as you continue a few seconds later. 🥰

@@blackcyclist yep its confirmed. One cell. How entitled have you got to be to think that other road users want to sit behind two cyclists riding two abreast while thinking drivers are saying....."aw look at those two enjoying themselves".....

Just remember 4+wheels must give clearance to 2 wheels, that way everyone gets home in one piece.

From the UK. It's only recently that motorists have realised that they must give way to cyclists. The mere thought of slowing down for them was considered weak only 10 years ago and many thought it was OK to squeeze past them between oncoming traffic.

It was always in the HWC, the recent changes made this clearer and also set out a few other rules for clarification. Everything positive to keep everyone safe 😁👍🏿

@@blackcyclist Yes I agree. Safety was never considered a priority years ago, even in the adverts for years, motoring was all about speed and a males idea to attract females especially when they started installing recliner seats. Lol.

@@douglastodd1947 thanks for sharing. A lot less traffic on the road 60 years ago. Just one question, how long would it take to install cycle lanes next to every road so that bikes can then be restricted to the bike lane? Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your thoughts
