Dandora landfill, kenya, Africa. Plastic pollution, global warming. recycling is a myth ⚠️
nmw_global
Dandora landfill in nairobi, kenya is biggest in africa, the garbage is coming from europe mostly in form of plastic. Most plastic waste ends up in landfills and takes a long time to break down. In specific environmental conditions, plastic materials undergo changes that make them lose some of their properties.

Thanks for all your good work and efforts. Denim and jeans used to be made from cotton, which can bring some pollution in the fields with the pesticides used for the crop. It could be composted naturally. Now, their content changed and some synthetic fibers make them more elastic. Synthetic fibers made them less breathable and less biocompatible with our skin environment. Cotton can lack the sturdiness to become a furniture fabric. Synthetic fabric with a dark dye can help to shield us from harmful UV rays. Sashiko stiches might help to repair workwear but it might as well be more convenient to have other workwear garments. Your articles are very well designed and I hope it will help you in your daily lives and to adress the textile waste problem. Those plushies can be good advocate to educate children about clothing. Wish you a lot of sustainable success :)
