Custom Fabrication of Self Erecting Baum Jig
Pressure and vacuum systems are our specialty, but we do find it hard to pass up a fun challenge. One of our long-time customers knows our large material handling capabilities and comes to us for assistance with large special projects.
This project started with a total refurbishment of a trailer which our customer had used on a previous project. After complete disassembly, the parts could be sand blasted, welded, painted and reassembled to bring the trailer up to spec. Using our customer's design specs, the components of the baum jig are currently being custom fabricated in our facility. When complete, the entire assembly will allow the end user to transport the equipment to the job site and easily erect the jig.

So you fill up till you can see half in the sight glass?
Yes that's correct. Once you see oil appear in the sightglass, pour very slowly until the oil is at the halfway point in the sightglass.
Thank you!
MAIL PLEASE
This is a excellent video👍
Me parece un excelente equipo nosotros en Venezuela lo utilizamos pero se no hace difícil los repuesto conseguir sobré todos la estoperas
Thank you.
Ed is my uncle
My Sutorbilt blower has a sight glass. What level would I fill it to? 1/4, 1/2, 3/4?
The manual says to fill to the halfway point when the unit is at rest. However at that level when the unit is starting up you may not be able to see any oil in the sight glass. Our standard practice is to fill to approximately 3/4 of the sight glass so that when the unit is starting up you will still be able to see some oil in the sight glass.
@@pdblowers Thanks for the expert advice! I just changed and filled 1/2 way I’ll definitely add a bit more. Another question I have out of curiosity, would the vent blow out any excess in the case of overfill?
Great video
I have a blower but for some reason the shaft and pulley don’t want to move anymore. Could you show how to fix this? Seems like it is locked up
Hi Frank, check out this page on our website that outlines tips on what to do when your blower won’t turn: www.pdblowers.com/faqs/my-blower-wont-turn-what-should-i-do/
Can I order the root blower? If possible, please tell me how to order, and please tell me the contact I can contact
Would be nice to get a reassembly video
Great video, thanks!
Roots now recommends royal purple grease for there U blowers
That is correct Chris. Starting in fall of 2016, Roots started using a synthetic NLGI No. 2 grease on all of their blower models. Whether you have a newer blower with the synthetic grease, or an older blower with the clay-based grease, the best way to maintain your blower is to continue using the same type of grease you have now. The two types of grease cannot be mixed because they could separate and cause the blower to no longer be properly lubricated. We have more information on our website about the two types of grease and how to tell which one is in your blower: www.pdblowers.com/faqs/type-grease-use-roots-blower/

What are these used for mostly? I found one at an auction and it got my curiosity going. Are these more economical to use vs. an air compressor blower do you think?
AWESOME 👍, THANKS !!
Hello what kind of oil I have to use
Why not just use the pumper directly in the hole? Funnels use is not recommended for proper lubrication as far as contaminants. Also purging can lead to over greasing and can overheat bearings. 🤔🤝
Dude make a step by step video on putting one together
Hey I was looking at your video.. And have the same roots blower and need to get it fix what will it cost me for you to fix it and we're or you located I'm in Anaheim ca, please email at rickdeez714@gmail.com
