Nothing stupid about it... in my experience the FMS Cessna 182 is supposed to crash ;-)

And a note to all viewers. Put some Velcro loops in so you can tie the battery in and hold it there, also MotionRc has all the parts for the FMS Cessna 182.

Actually was still in real good shape for that kind of hit. Little hot glue and back up. I put some Velcro loops in my Cessna so it will not fall out. Beautiful Plane though.

but its always freaking hilarious when the battery falls out mid flight :) your lucky the damage was minimal!! No failsafe when there is no power!!

Same thing for me this weekend 8/18/13. My battery on my Cessna dropped out and I totaled it. I wish I had seen your video first. More people who buy these should know of this constant problem. I loved how it flew and how it looked. I'm very disappointed.

This has literally happened to me twice now. I thought I learned my lesson the first time by taping to door down every time but the tape fell of and the battery fell out like a bomb. Luckily it glided down in a circle only breaking the prop and cowl. Now I have a servo arm glued in the fuselage that I can turn to lock the door.

LOL, The 1st time I took my FMS cessna out the battery door fell off and the battery was swinging in the air. I never found the battery door, FMS dont sell it as a spare part (they sell everything else BUT the battery door) So i made sure to put velcro on the battery and fuse and made my own battery door out of epo

awww,,, thts too bad. Really. but what do u expect when u fly low altitude upside down inside-out loops? I fly Snoopy (my Super Cub) over 100 times and i din't crash yet,,,, but i din't try low altitude upside down inside out loops eithr :)

I have the same plane. I love it but have had some "accidents" as well. Just glue it and good as new. Parts are hard to come by in the U.S. so next time I'm ordering another kit for spares.

Its a FMS Cessna 182. LED's are pre-installed and are pretty bright.

Such a great plane!! I had one and it was the best handling/flying plane I've owned!! I crashed mine 6-8 times and glued it back together each time and it still flew like new!!!

how this engine perfume with u till now is this a reliable one or not

the battery lid must have gone loose after the shock of that failed landing approach . . a good flare is essential to avoid such blows on landing.. too much flare can raise your altitude thus creating a higher drop on landing and the plane will look like a bouncing ball . .
