Hi, Jeff! Are you alright, mate? You said you would post more videos like that, but here we are 8 months later - and nothing. Like others already said, you do a really outstanding and marvelous job explaining what things are designed to be handled in the FreeCAD - which otherwise, i.e. without you, looks rather unpleasant, dumb, and unintuitive if compared to some peers - and it will be really great should you come back to regular schedule.

Jeff, I have just downloaded 21.2 and it only has two toolbars. I see in your tutorial that you have three. How do I open that other toolbar?

I'm learning a bit also for better 3D modeling, used DesignSpark Mechanical but it's a joke compared to this. My only "complain" is the software capture not feeling the full screen. Is pretty hard to see what you're doing even with the video in full screen. But you explain very well. Thanks and thumbs up to you.

Any chance you can make a tutorial on building with steel square tubing? I'm trying to draw out a trailer that's made of 2x4 rectangle tubing with 2x2 cross members on 16 inch centers. I feel like it should be easy, but I'm really struggling!

For the bottom part fillet specify radius of 19.999 instead of 19.99 and Freecad will round it up to 20mm without complaining.

5:58 I had re-create the horizontal constraint for the 50 mm part and then do the coincident constraint. Doing the coincident constraint and then re-creating the horizontal constraint causes a bunch of errors. 7:12 Issues with "recompute" errors as well. Solved it by ignoring them.

So many options. When I started, I looked at another video which was 4 years old. Totally different than my view. Your video has the same version of mine. Even so, it took me forever to get the "create sketch" done. I did not have that icon on my toolbar. I had to customize the bar to get it. After that, it worked but it changed the workbench from "Parts Design" to "Sketcher" which you didn't mention.

This is the best ~9 minutes I've ever spent and that includes my last 3rd date! CAD has really come a long way. I think back in the early 90's when I worked at a 5 person company that got it's hands on a CAD product called Velum (and not the plotting media:) if I remember correctly. It had used a similar "parametric"? (entering measurement on the fly) to create the part. I think it was quite revolutionary, for the budding commercial side of things. This is all very, VERY COOL. Thank you.

1st time visitor and a 1st time peek-see at FreeCAD. I was a little standoffish with the "FREE" word... But after 16 mins of ⒿⓔⓕⓕⒸⒶⒹ™ ShOcK & AWE ensued. I realize now that "Free" in the name indicates "Free From Limitations" Of course it's all relative. I've casually used Autocad DECADES ago and I can tell you that this ain't my daddy's CAD program. Thank you for the video. Definitely Sub-Worthy.. Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd house on the left. p.s. The check is in the mail! (just dated myself, again)

I'm using the same version of FreeCad, but my constraints aren't snapping automatically like they do in the video. Instead, a box pops up asking for constraint parameters. Any suggestions or help?

I'm embarrassed to say this but I have been using tinkercad for like 3 years now lol. I don't have a cad background at all and realized a long time ago I need a better cad program because outside of basic shapes tinkercad is horrible. I came across a couple other videos on freecad and none of them really were beginner friendly like this one is, very simple and to the point. I'm sure someone would need some kind of cad experience to be able to use this program in the first place but for someone like me who has pretty much mastered tinkercad and is ready to put my big boy pants on this was perfect. Thank you.

Great video, hopefully people will donate to FreeCAD to help them out. I have a question, I like to print a 3D model once I create one. Can you export your solid model in SLT format? Hopefully I get to hear back from you. Thanks!
