Hinchliffe Racing Expo
HInchliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ -- one of the last surviving Negro League Baseball venues -- was built in 1932 with a total renovation completed in 2023. But from 1932 to 1950 it hosted auto racing (northern NJ was a hotbed of the sport at that time -- really). In that spirit the Hinchliffe Racing Expo was held on Sunday, November 9, and it drew a remarkable group of expertly restored cars to Paterson. It would be nice to see racing returned to Hinchliffe someday but there's little to no chance of that happening, so this static display of "what was" will have to do.

Willow Grove to Ace Cafe

All I need is for someone to ask me to lead them on a motorcycle ride to the Willow Grove Farm Clydesdales in Middle Valley, New Jersey, and I'm all in. From there it's a short ride to Van Sant Historic Airfield, and why not? another quick hop to the Ace Café in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Sublime. A great day of fall riding with Hot Dog Donna (CanAm) and Prince Albert on a Pan (Honda ST110). Me: K...
The Race Of Gentlemen '24

I finally participated at TROG as part of a crew campaigning a 1920 Henderson Four. That's right; we raced a 100 year-old motorcycle on the soft sands of Wildwood, New Jersey. Lots of other good stuff to experience that weekend. Have a look... Martin Moto: Ride Out to the Ride In

Riding out to the annual Martin Moto Modern Classic Ride In. What is a modern classic? Beats me, but you can make an argument that my 2019 Kawasaki W800 Cafe fits the description if ever there was one. Lots of bikes to see here. Some may even be modern classics themselves.
Henderson TROG Prep: Part 2

Well, we had to remove the wheels to swap out the tires. The Henderson tires weren't rules compliant. So wheel removal and Sloppy Joe eating were the order of the day. TROG (The Race Of Gentlemen) looms! October 4 - 6 in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Pete's Mystery Ride

Pete took us on a mystery ride through Northern NJ/Downstate NY through some lovely vistas and mountain roads. It was great to see the Greenwood Lake Airport Diner has re-opened and even better that the the food was worth the travel. Mid-August weather felt more like early-autumn.

Without planning I jumped onto Old Mine Rd. in New Jersey at the north terminus in Montague. One of the worst roads in the state that makes it one of the best for a motorcycle. I stumbled my way south, took a wrong turn and discovered an (almost) ghost town, and had a great ride. Nearly no traffic and highly recommended.

Part 2 of the "Wings & Wheels" show at the Van Sant Historic Airfield in Erwinna, PA, May 26. Pete demonstrates his GoPro "skills" at the event using the "subject almost out of shot" technique he's so deft at. Plus more of our idle chatter over our Senas. Watch 'til the end for some better bonus footage.

Horny Pete's GoPro footage of riding out to the Van Sant Historic Airfield in Erwinna, PA, for their "Wheels & Wings" show. Pete wants to be a filmmaker, so I told him If you shoot it, I'll edit it. Well, what I thought would be a 10 minute video turned into a 18 minute piece of just the ride TO Van Sant. So this is Part 1. Part 2 has also been uploaded. The Race of Gentlemen (T.R.O.G.) will return to Wildwood, New Jersey, during the first weekend of October. This year, instead of being a spectator, I'm fortunate enough to be part of a five-man crew racing a 1920 Excelsior-Henderson Four on the beach. Bike prep has already begun at our "Top Secret" Bergen County, New Jersey,. location. In this "Part 1" of the what I hope to be a series of video...

Awesome video. Thanks. Ron
Great video as usual Steve. I like the fact that you name the roadways so I can visit and enjoy them too
Well thank you, Joe. Hope you get a chance to enjoy the route yourself.
Gorgeous bike!
Some awesome bikes at the show. I'm looking forward to some cooler weather here an some bike shows.
WFDU 89.1 is a non-commercial, college radio station licensed to Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. Founded in 1971, WFDU's studios are on campus, with its transmitter on the Armstrong Tower in Alpine, New Jersey.
and ...he was a Student of... SERBIAN profesor Michailo PUPIN ... who ... was as Nikola TESLA ... SERBIAN. ... ... + A matematician Mileva MARIC (*Ainstein's wife), SERBIAN. So strange coincidence ...
Grew up looking at this tower from a few miles to the west (my childhood home). Its an impressive structure and the history of Edwin Armstrong is fascinating. I have to laugh at the complaints from some nearby (wealthy) residents who now denounce it as an eyesore - it was built decades before the ritzy homes were.
My feelings exactly. It's like someone buys a house in Alpine, tears it down, and builds a McMansion. Then one day as he's picking his newspaper up off the porch he looks up, sees the tower, and says, "How the hell did THAT get there?!" About 10 years ago we dedicated a bronze plaque to E.H. Armstrong at the Greystone train station in Yonkers. Check it out if you're ever in the area.
I have ridden thru Frenchtown once. Have you ever visited the Roebling Bridge?
Yes. On the Upper Delaware River, many years ago. Also the Pond Eddy Bridge, a.k.a., the "Bridge to Nowhere."
RT and a 2019 Kawasaki W800 Cafe. The noise is probably Pete’s GoPro camera mount. We’re investigating
Very nice ride in the Delaware River Valley, beautiful scenery. But what is the noise, sounds like popcorn popping? The bikes were RT BMW and Triumph Bonneville? Enjoyed the video and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
I am honored to be part of Team Henderson, looking forward to the next few months.
It was a nice ride.
Wrapped pipes are a little gay but everything else turned out stunning ❤
I really enjoy these videos guys, please keep em up!
Thank you.
Hi, in 1959 I owned the 1946 Francis Barnett Merlin 125cc m/bike, 3 speed with a hand change gear lever. The bike would not hold in middle (2nd) gear, it was always springing out of gear. I managed to find a replacement motor/gearbox unit which had hardly been used. We fitted only to find that this engine would not hold in 3rd gear. I gave the motorcycle to a friend. -- Greetings from N/W England

Hey! That's my XZ550 at 1:53! There has been another at past shows but this year only mine.
Nice looking Vision. Don’t see many on the road anymore. Thanks for bringing it.
@@turbosteve84 Thanks. We should meet up next year.
Enjoyed the video, some very nice bikes.
Nice video , great portrait locations. And RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
Hi Steve, Are you still selling these. Sent you an email as requested.
Yes indeed! I replied to your email this morning.
Very nice
Looks like a nice group to ride with AND I want the red Guzzi Lemans!!
Very nice work Steve and a bike that really worked in your favor for the build you were looking for. RIDE SAFE OUT THERE and enjoyed the video.
What swing arm and rear wheel are you using?
Not my bike. The video is almost 25 years old. It was sent to me by a couple of brothers who lived in North Carolina at the time and could still be there now. They campaigned the bike for a few years and that's the last I heard from them.
@@stevek7614 , thank you for your answer!

What a bad ass machine! 18 lbs of boost on that rear.... Ole boy was a damn good pilot!
Nice bike. Did you ceramic coat the pipe before wrapping it? You might have a rare piece turn to swiss cheese if not
Do you happen to know what the exhaust system is called
@@travishendricks8962 it's a kerker pipe. You wont find them anymore. Maybe one will pop up on Ebay every 5 years. The only real option left for a single exhaust is to buy a universal muffler and take it to a reputable exhaust shop for custom work.
Where did you get those awesome headlights?
Lucked out at a Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Swap Meet where I picked it up for $10. Never saw another one. The headlights are just something I found at AutoZone.
How did you do that headlight mod?
I get asked that a lot. Through dumb luck I found it at a motorcycle swap meet for $10. The "headlights" are just accessory lights I purchased from Auto Zone.
131 years ago today, Major Edwin Howard Armstrong was born.
Nice ride
Looking for these, Steve's email comes back, Anyone know where I can get the dampners?

Cigar Store Indians.
Mike is not the nice guy he pretends to be on TV. He is always expecting his customers to be nice and generous with there time but when I called Mike on his cell phone after my Dad passed away he was not concerned that I was looking for information on a Indian race bike that my dad use to race in the late 50's. I called him because he claims to collect Indian bikes and I really thought he could help me know what the bike was by the pictures I sent him. The only thing he was concerned with was what website had his info it. SO he wanted info from me but did not reciprocate by helping me out at all. He just ghosted me. I never called him or texted him again out of professional curtesy. I just thought it was a total d--k move. He only cares about him self and what he can make. No longer a fan of Mike Wolfe
Dude he might just be busy. Sorry for your loss brother. But that's not his responsibility to find that bike for you.
@@kylekarcher if he can make money on it, sure it is...
@@CarbiesChronicles That's Mike's decision not my place.
It’s because mike doesn’t know squat about bikes his a punk and all he really cares is about money. That’s why he got rid of frank.
He actually answered the phone number and talked to you for unsolicited help is nice enough
