Too bad Dragon Shields quality has gone downhill significantly over the past few years. These probably won’t last as long as some of the older sleeves I own. Thanks for watching!

They are. I just wouldn’t drop them. They shatter like glass.

So the packaging for the booster packs was made in China. The booster packs were either printed in Japan or USA. The packs I opened were printed in the USA. I double checked with a second bundle. The “textured” sand paper cards are usually signs they are printed in the US. The high gloss variants are usually from Japan. You can find either the Japanese printed or US printed products in booster boxes. It’s hit or miss. Depends on when it was ordered. Most of the Japanese printed product is distributed during the pre-release or release period. Vast majority of what you find shipped after is printed in the US. Most older sets were printed in the US. The older players will notice the wear characteristics of the cards when we played with them before sleeves became popular. Speaking from someone that was in the printing business, the sandpaper texture could come from several factors. The biggest would be the materials, since Magic is printed in only one format (large 4 color press). It could also come from the age of the equipment, the volume printed, the humidity in which the ink was set, etc… most likely the Japanese cards are printed on better materials, but I can’t guarantee that without seeing the whole setup. Wizards is known to use several print companies each release. I hope this information helps! Probably TMI, but I rather share than not. Thanks for watching!

They are pretty much identical to standard sleeves, except for the silver printing on the inside and the anniversary logo on the outside.

Starter sets are kind of new thing. We saw one for the Assassin Creed Universe Beyond, but haven’t seen once in a few years. This one is “okay” with some cards that will see play. Here’s my list of 100 rolls of each average. I will round down to nearest tenth of a point. D20 - 10.5 D12 - 6.6 D10 - 5.5 D8 - 5.2 D6 - 3.9 D4 - 2.7 Slightly higher average for some. High on the smaller dice.

@@AwesomePossumHobbiesandGames So they were somewhat balanced! That's sort of rare. Did you ever notice if one die kept rolling a specific number--like opposite the metal connection?

I will check the spreadsheet and let you know what the most commonly rolled number for each dice.

@@AwesomePossumHobbiesandGames I'm still waiting for my Sheldon's Spellbook to arrive. Glad to see Keen Duelist is a possible extra. I love that card. Mostly I got this for the Terferi's Protection, which basically paid for the rest. Everything else Including the beautiful new art and the donation to worthy cause was just added value for me. I picked up the Tomb Raider Secret Lair for similar reasons, somehow I didn't have the two most expensive cards in that set and needed additional copies of all the other reskinned reprints. RIP Sheldon.

I bought it for the sol ring and the command tower. Overall, a great 8 card set.

Thank you for the constructive criticism. Unfortunately I don’t have a ton of production time and I am teaching myself as I go. I plan on adding some of the card pricing in the future. As I learn how to do video post production, it will get faster and better. Right now, I’m only getting around 3-4 hours a week producing videos. I wish I had as much time as some of the full time content creators, but it’s just me in my limited amount of time. But that is a story for another time. I appreciate you watching and commenting. This box feels like it is made from the similar materials as flip and tray deck boxes from ultimate guard, so they should hold up to a similar amount of abuse. The only thing I am worried about is the flap taking too much wear and tear. Thanks for watching!

@@AwesomePossumHobbiesandGames I finally recorded an unboxing video for mine yesterday. I pulled a Polluted Delta, Phyrexian Tower, and a foil Echoes of Eternity. Also Arna Kennerud but that was less exciting!

I think all of the decks from this set are pretty sweet. I’m pleasantly surprised with how all the themes play. I’m definitely building an energy deck with the fallout “Science!” deck around Liberty Prime. Thanks for watching!

@@AwesomePossumHobbiesandGames Energy is such an abusable mechanic. I have a sneaking suspicion that commander decks are now planned with synergistic releases back to back to help move upcoming product as well as boost the back end of stuff released in the previous fiscal quarter.

I don’t know about that theory. WotC has previously stated that teams that work on one expansion, do not work with other teams about the upcoming release. Mark Rosewater has acknowledged this in previous posts on his “blog-atog”. It would make more sense for them to work together in the future to make sets more fun to play with each other and not have some cards dominate formats for years. Fingers crossed that they progress in that direction in the future.

So far, so good. The corners seem to hold up better than Dragon Shields, allowing them to keep their shuffle feel better, longer. Of course I may not shuffle the same way you do, so you may get different wear than me. Thanks for watching!

@AwesomePossumHobbiesandGames good to hear. I have the fallout ones. But my kmc outter sleeves won't allow me to fit it in a regular xl box w the apex. I ended up just doing inner sleeves with the apex and omg do they feels so good to shuffle and hand shuffle. I'm just worried about if it will last me more than a month

It will depend on you and your use. The deck I have sleeved is doing pretty well, but I don’t play with it enough. It’s too expensive to take places. I have a new set of apex sleeves from their mana series on a deck that I play way more often. I will let you know how they do.

WotC has released “textless” cards previously. When they first came out, they were pretty easy to remember what the text was because they were very commonly played cards. Years later, I can’t remember half of those cards wording. I understand people have cell phones and can look up cards most of the time. My local game store has horrible reception, so whomever is playing these cards, better have the full card ready. Some of them are pretty wordy. They could have put text in small print along one of the sides as a solution. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for watching!
