Hi! I’m really sorry but I have no idea. To be honest I haven’t used my Silhouette in quite a while as I had a lot of problems with the firmware 😅 these machines sometimes have minds of its own I guess. Have you tried reinstalling the firmware?

Hi, sorry about the late response 😅 I'm happy you like the tutorial! 1. You can also try to just take a little bit of pigment with a wet brush directly from the pastel, or put some pigment on the palette and then mix it with water, before putting it on paper. When the pencil is put directly on paper there is no much more you can do, the pigment is quite strong and there is only a limited option to create lighter value. 2. I'm trying to use a limited color palette. It helps with the overall color consistency on the drawing. I have most shades that I use and I don't mix them that much. But if you need to, my favorite way is to layer them in thin layers and blend with the last layer, for example with white pastel or any other light colors. Or put few different thin layers and then mix them with water like you said 😊

Hi, thank you very much! oh colors is a long story... I usually go for some light pinks and greens, some blues, couple of dark colors for contrast. You need to figure it out for the color palette that you use. I use very cold tones in my paintings and drawings, so I only go for cold colors, and even if it's for example yellow which is considered warm color, I would pick bright cold greenish yellow to much the rest of my colors. 😊

Haha, I also had no idea which one to buy, but I wanted to try them with water so I decided on Neocolors II. They actually last a very long time so I never felt guilty about using them without water xD

I already tried them on a small still life and love them, you are right it feels quite easy 😸 but does require a lot of patience haha 😂 have fun with watercolors!

I have the same with canvas 😹 always afraid of them. This is why I bought a paper for this challenge 😸 I’ve seen you can buy loose canvas sheets, they are quite affordable so maybe that’s a solution 😅 I use Prismacolor col-erased pencils, they are in all kinds of different colors, don’t have any shine, don’t smudge, and can be erased like pencil 😊 they are my favorites for sketching!

Forgot to mention - my studio is small too… and I give way too much space up for my plants. Recently I got a few plant hangers and was able to free up a few work areas again but still have the plants.

Omg I would give it all up for the plants haha but work space is also needed unfortunately 😅 now the studio at home is occupied all by my husband and I had to move out with all of my stuff but I’ve seen you already seen the new makeover 😹🙈

@@yoanaziart yeah!! I feel like a lot of artists on youtube often talk about pastels as like they're least favourite media, so I have been scared off them a little bit. But yeah I think I'll give them a try!! ^_^
