I can freely express myself and talk about it, the stigma attached to mental health issues is becoming less of a taboo these day and if I can help just one person by sharing my life woes and troubles and letting them know its okay to talk and seek help , and they are not alone then my video is not worthless ❤

A mid life crisis some would say, I would personally say life is for living so do what you can to get rhe very best out of life. Scotland is bigger than some people realise, and there is more to it than the Nc500. It is the best wee country on the planet , so get out and live your best life. 👌 🏴🏴🏴

She is a wee cracker mate, in just 3 weeks she has settled in brilliantly, a wee bit training but generally she is very well behaved for a 7 month pup. I struck gold with this one ❤ And yes she is bringing out the less grumpy side of me 😅 but don't worry that will be short lived and I will be back to my grumpy self again hahaha. All the best mate.

It would take me as long as your video to even attempt to say anything worthwhile in reply. And even then I doubt very much that I could say anything you haven't already heard. But if you do fancy a bit of company from a fellow grumpy old git, I am only 61 mile away on the 708, camped by the lochside. I know you don't like campsites but you could visit anytime if you fancy a run out. My van is up on blocks at the moment waiting for repair but I am still living in it. Probably here another week at least. Our paths have actualy crossed in a few ways over the years. I remember you from the expert forum. I have also spent quite a few nights at your cliff top pitch but not for a few years. Surprised we haven't both spent a night each scowling across at each others van. ;)
We have probably passed each other on many occasions lol 😆, but I would would be honoured to meet another old git of the grumpy fraternity . I will be on the road soon enough hopefully after sorting out this new stage of life and boxing up the last 25 years, I have many more roads in Scotland so I'm sure I will pass your way at some point in the near future. Thanks mate I knew your comment would be one of understanding, empathy and care, although we have never met I said in the video that I refer to some as friends now, yourself being one, living is a struggle sometimes and I'm also sorry to hear of your own battles with this illness, its a full time job on its own coping with it 😢 but hopefully with years of living with mental illness it can show others there is some form of hope for their futures. Cheers mate but it's okay, we are both good and our daughters are grown up and left home now 👍 we are still on great terms and ended things as we both want to go down different paths in life, she is content with life whereas I want to wander hahaha 😅 I am now a vanlifer full time and I will concentrate on making my way around our country and beyond still making my grumpy ass TH-cam videos . What as hot as what ha ha to be fair apart from last October when me and my son were up at the Orkneys the weather is normally kind to us, hope I haven't jinx myself for next time am up in the Most Beautiful Country in All the World 🏴♥️🏴 ha ha but truthfully Rob I really enjoy your videos because of how real they come across, and I also recognise quite a few of the places you show, I've travelled a fair bit of the World mainly through my military year's and I truly say with my hand on my heart Bonnie 🏴 Scotland 🏴 has Always felt like Home and is the place that i feel Truly Happy when am there, West coast East Coast the Boarders, it doesn't matter where i go i just ♥️ Scotland 🏴🏴🏴

@@barbelking3517 I might be a bit biased towards the East Coast mate being my home land but a lot of people knock it because its not like the West Coast , it has a different beauty, a d to be honest there is some really unremarkable places on the West.

I think Duncansby head lighthouse was for sale last time I was up. And that rusty metal ball at Dounreay was word leading cutting edge tech back in he 50's. Produced something like 600 million kWh of electricity until decommissioning in 1977.
@@sgw8903 your right that ball has been more useful than I could ever be, maybe a bit of tlc wouldn't go a miss.
@@Millie-Rob-Mitchell I think the whole area is badly contaminated. The current estimate for it to be fit to even be rated a brown field site is something like 2036. There were some quite nasty "mishaps" there. Don't eat the seafood! :)

You picked a good day. Careful about promoting the east coast too much. West and north already lost as an escape. East coast and Borders should hide their lights under a bushel unless they too want to be Disneyfied under the weight of mass tourism..
I honestly can't see the East getting much more popular to be honest, the West is incredible and has a magic that draws you in. The nc500 has promoted the top half of Scotland to death now, funny thing is the route has always been there, just clever marketing lol.
So refreshing to see other Beautiful places that Scotland has to offer, it's Not all about the NC500, fantastic video so enjoyable to watch 👍

@@Millie-Rob-Mitchell your welcome buddy 👍 and Yes Scotland is so Beautiful wherever you go, am from Liverpool and been coming up for 50 years now and am on never disappointed with the beautiful countryside, I've done the NC500 and don't get me wrong it's incredible, But getting out in the wilds off the beaten track is where you'll find the True Scotland, can't wait for end of September me and my lad going back up to the Orkney and her Islands for a week and then a Slow drive home down the west coast Can't wait 👍

You really need to confirm if the leisure battery is capable of taking and holding a full charge first. See what it looks like after an overnight charge on your new charger. I agree with Womble about getting a lithium if possible. Not done so myself due to cost but I find old tech lead acid batteries are lucky to last two years. I have never gone for a power bank either. They seem to be a way of getting double or more the price for a battery by adding a few cheap components and a case. Unless you have need for portable power away from the van I can't see any advantage myself. Heavily pushed and overhyped a couple of years ago by "influencers" being given free ones to review I believe. Don't let it stop you getting away though. A decent torch and/or a lantern, and perhaps a small phone charging power bank should tide you over. Longest day an all :)
Cheers mate 👍, my last van was totally electric free and it was great but now I need to charge things while I'm on the road, my power tools mainly, once I get an invertor. I think I have been convinced to get a lithium battery asap, then a power station which I would probably use more for my work a lot more than my camper. I know how you feel.. I have been subsribed to you for such a long timeand I dont think I have ever commented.. I am a pensioner very low income and Its easy for me to say you have to have the right set up..? Have you checked with your meter that there is power from the alternator at the van battery end, does it increase when you rev the engine, test for the same at both sides of the VSR at the VSR.. does your van have a smart altinator as once the van battery is full the alinator shuts down to 11volts until your van batery demands more..? I use both Power Bank and Battery system. I saved like bugger to get a small lithium. plus I had the luck to win a big power bank.. but remember the power bank will still have to be charged, if you plug the power bank into the van lighter socket to charge it will take days and days to charge.. The standing power of a liesure battery you have is only 12.6 volts, they should be charged at 14.5 ish, you can take them down to 12.0 volts, but do this to many times and it will kill it.. Get the charging sorted and save like a bugger like me and get a small lithium, a 100ah with be 4x the power of the battery you have now and will last for 10 years, the one you have will last 1 to 2 yours at most.. DAM.. that was allot of writting.. Good luck
Hi mate and 1st of all thanks for sticking around my channel for so long ❤ I fitted a new alternator in May this year and thankfully that is working perfectly, and no it not a smart alternator. I sadly think my battery has had it, I will try the new battery charger when it arrives but I don't hold out much hope to be honest. I appreciate your advice and will probably get a 100ah lithium battery, that's plenty power for my set up, maybe even more than I need lol. I might also look at a small power station later on down the road but for now you have convinced me which path to take , if my agm is knackered. Cheers mate and all the best 👍

It is a lot louder with baffles taken out, but I prefer it with them in. To be fair it does sound better off camera.
