This is the seventh and final "I Am" saying of Jesus. In this saying - made on the final day of Jesus' earthly life before His crucifixion - Jesus claims to be the TRUE vine. What does Jesus mean by that? He could have simply claimed to be the vine. This video discusses: Why did Jesus claim to be the True Vine? What did the early disciples understand by that? What does this "I Am" statement mean to us?

Jesus did not come into this world and search for the Way. He did not have to find the Way. He did not point to the Way. He claimed to be the Way - the Way to God, to heaven, and to salvation. Similarly, Jesus was not in the quest for Truth. He did not discover truth and then point to it. He did not say 'here are ten principles - these are the basic truths of life.' He pointed to Himself and said, "I am the Truth." In the same way, Jesus points to Himself as the Source of Life, the Provider of Eternal Life, and the Author of Abundant Life. Three options: (a) Jesus is a madman and does not know what He was talking about (b) Jesus is a liar and cheat making people think what he knew he was not (c) Jesus is who He claimed to be - the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Man's greatest enemy is death. No one has defeated death. No one has even made false claims of doing so. There is only one person who knew where, when, how, and why he would die - we are talking about Jesus of Nazareth. There is only one person who claimed that He had authority over death - again, we are talking about Jesus of Nazareth. In this video, we are talking about Jesus' fifth "I AM" saying - "I am the Resurrection and the Life."

A forty-year-old blind man - who was just healed by Jesus - was thrown out of the synagogue by Pharisees in John chapter 9. The Pharisees acted as gates or gatekeepers. They decided who would be "inside" and who would be "outside." They "had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue." (John 9:22). The Jewish religious leaders of Jesus' day used their social-religious power to control society - and to force people into not following Jesus. They acted as GATES or GATEKEEPERS. It is in such a context that Jesus makes this claim for Himself - "I AM THE GATE FOR THE SHEEP."

Beginning a new series: The "I AM" Sayings of Jesus. This is the first video in this series based on John 6:35 - "I am the bread of life." Human beings have several hungers and thirsts. In order to satisfy these hungers and thirsts, people often consume "that which cannot satisfy" or "that which is not food." This is one part of the discussion in this video. We would also discuss the example of a person who consumed the 'food that cannot satisfy' and was miserable in life. In John 6, after feeding the 5000 men with five loaves and two fish, Jesus says to those around him, "do not work for food that spoils." He asks people to receive the bread that the Father has sent from heaven. He introduces Himself as the Bread of Life. According to Jesus, whoever comes to the Bread of Life "will never go hungry." Watch till the very end to benefit from it. Thank you!

The book of Daniel prophesies about Alexander the Great directly at least three times in Daniel chapters 7, 8, and 11. There is an indirect reference to him in Daniel 2. This video is divided into two parts: section one discusses these prophecies. Section two discusses the writings of Josephus. Josephus, the first century Jewish historian, writes of a vision that Alexander received from God. He treats the Jewish high priest and other priests with great respect. According to Josephus, Alexander is shown the passages from the book of Daniel that speak about him - and Alexander acknowledges that those passages are about him. This results in the Jews receiving several favors from him. This is the final video in the series God and Pagan Kings - a series that discussed God's revelations to many mighty kings.

I have grown-,up as a Christian in cessionist churches, my experience is that it is believed that at least one gift of the Spirit is bestowed on a believer at conversion but not the extraordinary gifts

Approximately 150 years before King Cyrus was born, Isaiah prophesied about him. King Cyrus was to be God's shepherd and anointed. God promised him that He would open doors and gates for him and provide him with favor, victories and wealth. Isiaih also promised that Cyrus would be the one to help the Israelites in exile to be able to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. Josephus, the first-century Jewish historian, writes about the historical events surrounding King Cyrus and his allowing the Jews to return to rebuild the Temple. According to Josephus, King Cyrus knew about Isiaih's prophecies!!!

Prophet Jeremiah made several prophecies concerning King Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon. His name is mentioned 35 times in the book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah repeatedly warned the kings and people of Judah that Nebuchadnezzar would attack Judah and defeat them, and exile its people, if they did not repent. Somehow, King Nebuchadnezzar knew of these prophecies about him. So, he treats Jeremiah with respect. God has revealed Himself to Nebuchadnezzar multiple times (three times in the Book of Daniel as discussed in the second video of this series) in the books of Jeremiah and Daniel. God reveals Himself as someone who is sovereign over kingdoms and rulers. I believe it is God's mercy and grace that God reveals Himself to Nebuchadnezzar, a pagan king, time and time again.

King Nebuchadnezzar received some revelations from God that were miraculous and undeniably divine. God gave him revelations about future world empires and the coming Kingdom of God. God showed him that He alone is to be worshipped and that He can save His people from impossible situations - even from a fiery furnace. God showed him that God is a mercy - who allows people ample opportunities to repent and turn to Him. He also revealed Himself as a God of judgement - a God who is able to bring down the proud. He also revealed Himself as a God of restoration - a God who is able to restore everything to the repentant. The first few chapters of Daniel bear ample witness to God's revelations to Nebuchadnezzar - the most powerful man of that time.

Exodus chapters 1 to 15 describe God's interactions with Pharoah - king of Egypt. Pharoah and his officials were cruel taskmasters and harassed and oppressed the Israelites. When God told him through Moses, "Let my people go," Pharoah asked, 'Who is the God of Israel that I should let the people of Israel go.' In the next few chapters, God revealed Himself to Pharoah, his officials, the Egyptians, and the Israelites about His identity and power. He showed Himself to be more powerful than all the gods of Egypt - the plagues were judgments on the gods of Egypt. God revealed Himself to be in control over nature, the solar system, life and death, battles, and so on. Despite all of God's glory and power and sovereignty on majestic display, Pharoah refused to accept the light of God's revelations. He knew and understood the truth, but refused to embrace it. His hardheartedness and stubbornness led to his own destruction and to the destruction of his people in many ways. Watch the video to see how God hardened Pharoah's heart only after Pharoah hardened his heart against God multiple times.
