Northern Michigan PIKE FISHING! GREAT Final Boat Trip
Last boat trip of the year (I think anyway)! The boys wanted to fish for northern pike instead of searching for jumbo perch and I can understand why! They're willing biters especially in the fall. We caught these fish slow trolling jigs and minnows with the bow mounted electric motor. It's a great method! Hope you enjoy!

Erie STEELHEAD Time! ELK CREEK
มุมมอง 1.6Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Well, it's that time of the year for our annual trip to Lake Erie tributaries to catch one of our favorite fish, the steelhead trout. Conditions were once again extremely low and clear but the fish were stacked into the pools of what water remained. Very small flies and light line were necessary to fool some of these fish into striking. We had 3 boys fishing with us this time, and the fish did ...

Welcome back to Fishitis! It's been over a month since we've posted a video. Poor fishing conditions, other commitments, and hunting instead have kept us for making a show. But this time out we really hit into the fish! Noah and I caught some of the biggest pike of the year! Enjoy! Michigan PERCH Fishing! The Early Fall Bite is ON!

First trip for fall perch was a HUGE success. We got a cooler full of good sized perch for the frying pan! It took some time to figure out how to catch these fish. The ones holding over deep water were inactive, but we made a move into the shallows and found some really hungry ones. Enjoy! Welcome back to the show! I decided to make a quick trip out solo in hopes of catching another salmon. It was a warm, sunny evening, and not the best conditions for salmon fishing. But I was able to get a last minute fish, and it was a big one! Enjoy! Michigan SALMON Downriggers Crazy Night!!!

Well this was a crazy trip out! Noah and I decided to troll for a few hours and when we arrived fish were all over the screen. It appeared a fresh batch of salmon came in with the colder rains! WALLEYES! Late Summer Bite in Michigan
มุมมอง 2824 หลายเดือนก่อน
Well this was one of those tougher outings. We decided to try our luck on some shallow weed flats hoping the walleyes and bass were already transitioned to their fall patterns. We didn't find a ton, but the ones we did were beefy! It was fun catching them on something different than slip bobbers for a change. Enjoy! HUGE Michigan BLUEGILLS and Pumpkin Seeds!

Gills! The Fishitis crew just LOVES fishing for big bluegills and pumpkinseeds. Our favorite time of the year is mid-June when trophy-sized fish congregate on spawning flats making them much easier to catch. Come along as we target these beautiful slabs. We end up finding a slew of them, releasing the biggest ones while keeping medium sized fish for the frying pan. What a trip it was! Baits tha...
Michigan JUMBO PERCH Spring Bite!

Michigan WALLEYE in the WAVES!

Wind and waves! That's the conditions we faced yet again on this episode of Fishitis. I'm so thankful to have the Minn Kota Terrova with it's Spot Lock feature. This thing holds the boat in position every time no matter the conditions! I'm a firm believer in boat positioning to catch more fish so it's nice to have an electric motor to make this possible. Michigan WALLEYES! Favorite Way to Fish!
มุมมอง 8527 หลายเดือนก่อน
Welcome back! I just love fishing this way: Pitching jigs while letting 2 rods float around out the back with slip floats and leeches/crawlers. It's an extremely effective way to catch these fish. This morning out solo was fast paced and even a bit crazy.....for a short period. When walleyes are on they're on! But when they turn off it's as if someone switched off a light bulb. Opening Day Michigan Walleyes! WIND!!!

Holy wind! Well opening day of walleye season finally arrived and I wasn't sure we were going to get out. The morning was all thunderstorms followed by strong afternoon winds up to 30 mph! With our fishing time limited due to travel baseball, Noah and I decided we were going no matter what. Boy, am I glad we did! Awesome trip my friend. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Blessings to you.
Thank you! Same to you.
Naming creeks is so silly lame
Great video. Can you please not name creeks in the future.
Thanks.
If someone hasn’t already heard of elk and they fished steelhead I’d be shocked. Great video
@@markschmechel3170 I was thinking the same thing! Now, 30 years ago? Different story. I remember those days!
great video, all ways i enjoy your videos from Erie city!!!!!
Thanks so much!
Excellent video. Thank you for your time. Very informative
Thanks so much! We’ve come a long way since that video!
Thanks for the education. It's nice to have someone talk about the techniques they use to help others. Some people just aren't willing to give others information to be successful. Thanks!
You should try some Freedom baitz
I’ll have to look those up. Not sure I know what they are..
Nice fishing
Thanks!
They must have a class in the school she hung out with that covered "Fishnet 101". Once they get close enough to see it, they all seem to know what the score is.
Definitely!
Where y’all at what lake ..?gogebic
My son has that same boat
Awesome boat. I’ve had for 20 years!
Awesome work boys .. id never move from Michigan our fishery second to none
I agree!
What lake is this
If there down there like that you need to switch to perch rig
That’s a good point. They might have bitten more. But with the slip floats we were on the bottom. The move in shallow paid off though! Thanks!
One thing that got hooked for sure......Noah!!!
Oh definitely! Noah can fish all day and then some!
He must have been raised in the big city. Most likely voted for Joe Biden too
He didn’t FYI
From central Michigan here, always looking for a good spot as I have to travel to find any water worthy of spending the time money and effort. What’s your general location if you don’t mind my asking.
Love that lake! Heading up in 2 days.
Good luck!
what lake is this?
Hi i know you caught some on honey worms , were the rest caught on minnows? Great Job
Yes bigger minnows mostly. At least for the jumbos🙂
What lake were you on?
What lake?
How deep of water were you fishing? Great video you definitely know how to catch'em.
Thank you! Most of them came out of about 12 to 14 feet.
what's considered a REALLY big perch there?
14 inches is a trophy. Noah got one just over 15 last year; it’s on the wall!
I dream about days like that😊
They don’t come as often as I’d like! 🙂
Great job guys 😊 we are in northern Michigan...we love to fish 😅 thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you!
From Interlochen, where are u??
Love watching the kids get excited! Do you drift with the slip bobber set up or troll at a slow speed? And do you use extra weight besides the jig? Thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting! We do all of the above! If the fish are spread out we drift, if congregating in one area anchor or use spot lock on trolling motor. If dead calm slow troll. We use 1/8 ounce slip sinkers with either a long shank crappie hook or light jig heads, usually 1/32 ounce.
Could you give any pointers…? We are from South West Michigan. Have always wanted to fish North at least once
Hi and thanks for commenting! There are many different ways to catch perch. We prefer slip floats. We have videos on the fishitis channel that explain in detail how we catch perch. Feel free to check them out! There’s too much to explain here. Thanks!
Nice video 👍 great to see a kid having fun enjoying the outdoors
@@fish-itis9469has some if the best inland Michigan fishing videos... Great information and family fun..I'm also from SW Michigan. Do alot if salmon fishing on big lake and inland walleyes in st joe river and some inland lake too
@@kylesymons8051 Thank you!
Nice fish! When do you think they will start hitting the rivers in that area?
Thanks. Next good rain…
Awesome video love seeing the rigger strikes 👍
Thanks! Might be the best part of fishing that way..,
💯🇺🇸Great Content🇺🇸!💯
Thanks!
Leave the rod in the holder and crank like hell until you feel the fish pulling. You are losing them to slack line. Your hook set will NEVER take up all the slack that is there. Depending on depth you can have sometimes 40-50 ft of slack. I used to do the same and then changed to just cranking fast and my catch rate has gone up 70%
Yes! I think that’s it . I started cranking and hook up rate increased. Thank you!
@@fish-itis9469 always willing to help a fellow salmon fisherman
I sharpen my hooks every time I set a line and tighten my ball release so I have the rod set pretty tight to get a good hook set when I get bit, I don’t really set the hook much when I get a fish on. Those lost fish probably more of fish just biting short and not hard takes my opinion any way. Looks like you’re the only boat on the water? Great video!
Thanks! Yes no boats that evening. I should sharpen my hooks more. I did better just reeling until pressure was on the fish. I think you’re right, short strikes and smaller fish…
It's the Final Countdown ;) I'm little disappointed I didn't hear that. LOL
I know!
Catch's like that get's you through a lot of days with no luck at all. Well done!
Absolutely!
Awesome King! That'll get your heart pumping! Don't think I remember a trolling video you made. Nicely done!
Thanks! More to come!
Nice fish, where or what lake is this, my grandsons love to catch bluegill?
I would take a slow day like that any time nice catch. Are you planing any salmon trips any time soon?
Yes! I agree. I can’t wait to get out for salmon! Soon….
selfish
I sure hope you ain't gonna vote for Kamala Harris in November.
Great video! Fun to watch your kids get so excited about fishing. How were you rigging the minnows on the hook? I’ve done really well with gulp minnow on a drop shot with perch pounders. I put 2.5’” on bottom hook and a 1” on the top. It seems catch most of the gills on the 1” and crappies and bass on 2”.
Thanks for watching and commenting! We just rig them through the top of the head and down onto the shank of the hook. They hold for a few fish usually. I do want to try a little super glue on it just to get the minnows to stay on longer. We go through them rather quickly! I've had the most success catching the bigger gills on the 2.5" minnows. The smaller ones work as well but lots of little gills.
Yeah those gulp are good. Especially the leeches & minnows in those jars with liquid. They are pricy but wow do they catch walleye when paired with a jig Nice gills guys!
Thanks! Yeah, I'm a big fan of them. Better than constantly baiting hooks and they seem to work just as well!
I think bluegills, for their size, are the most fun to catch. Did you use a slip bobber on all your rigs? How deep was the water? Big fun!
Hey moondog! Yes slip bobbers in 12 feet of water on the edge of deeper water at about 20 feet. That’s where the biggest ones seem to go in summer.
Wounded ones taste every bit as good as the rest, so I admire your sportsmanship in letting it go. Every time I try a fish with more than one line, my life turns into what I just watched, and that activity is exactly what I don't want. It's fun watching someone else do it though. Thanks for another show!
Thanks Mike! We had 6 rods out and some tangles but not too much. I definitely don’t relax much though!
Is it Manistee Lake?
Great catch man! I live in Reno so any small mouth 3+ is considered a big one! I would love to catch one like this, as I know it would be a fun fight. Great video.
Thanks so much! Fished my whole life for one that big and it finally happened.
What lake is that?
As a fellow Michigan fisher I have found some beautiful bluegill and hybrids in wabasis lake. Would you be able to share this lake your at or is it your secret spot?
Nice to hear and thank you for commenting! I don’t like to share specific lakes and spots. A good percentage of people can likely find out but I’m not one to promote certain lakes. If it’s a large lake then maybe but not the small ones! Hope you understand!
Burt….?
Pumpkinseed's are my favorite panfish and HUGE Pumpkinseed's are my favorite everything. That's quite the fishing team you're developing.
Thanks Mike!
