Thank you so very much Pastor Norton. You can not believe how much God is talking to me right now and blessing me. The sermon that you did this weekend, was the exact same one we watched on The Chosen on Saturday and there have been other things happening for awhile that I feel God is trying to communicate with me. I just got my VA Disability approved today and I just knew it was coming, do to the Communications of God, through your sermon and other things that have been speaking to me. Praise be to God.🙏 And also, a big thank you for guiding me. I wasn't sure if you would be that right person for me, because I was raised and baptised right there in the First Lutheran Church by Pastor Peel, I not only looked up to him as our Pastor, but also a Father. I was also an Alter Boy for a while there. I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about the changes, but I am sure it will grow on me. I left there when I joined the Navy. I get back home once in a while, but this time it has been over 17 years. When I am home, I always see a service there. Maybe we will meet up then. I would love to call you and ask some questions if you wouldn't mind sometime. I am working on trying to do better in my life and try to be a better servant to God and everyone else, but I have a ways to go. Here is the rest of the sermon Some of you enjoy prayer walks spending time in prayer while you walk or hike My habit lately is to make myself coffee in the morning and then sit at my dining room table to read a devotion book that includes scripture and prayer and excerpts from Christian authors But even then I can find myself just going through the motions and I have to snap out of it and get intentional I find I need to do something with my body something physical to train my heart and soul to pay attention I’ll put my hand out on the table and imagine holding God’s hand and then I’ll talk directly to God sharing my concerns, lifting up others It doesn’t take long maybe 10 minutes but God meets me there in that time Drawing near to God doesn’t look the same for everyone just like each of us spends quality time with our loved ones differently If you don’t currently have a practice let me challenge you today to develop one Try different things out reach out to Lori Duncan our Minister of Spiritual Care or one of the pastors or a Chrsitian you admire Ask for wisdom ask them what they do to draw near to God God has gifts for you He wants you to have peace in your soul he wants you to have a life that mirrors the life of Jesus He wants to free you from bitterness and envy and that constant feeling of emptiness that comes from selfish ambition James invites us to submit our lives to God draw near and ask and receive these gifts from a good and loving God Let’s do it right now as we continue to worship As we sing sing to God with full voice and heart As we pray share yourself with God As we receive this meal open your hands and meditate on the gift of Jesus life poured out for you on the cross Draw near to God today and he will draw near to you He will give you wisdom from above and all the gifts of His friendship Reach out and find he is right here with you now just as he has always been Thanks be to God

The Second Reading was perfect, we all need to remember those words. This Church has always been here for me. I am going to remember your words Pastor Travis, when it is time for people to take care of me. It is already beginning , my husband is having to do more and more for me. It helps him to feel needed and useful. It is a wonderful feeling , to let him help. There will be more people helping soon enough. I won’t mind at all. TY Pastor Travis for bringing this difficult time in a person’s life.

Thank you so much for making this available on line. I was unable to attend but I think I got a better view (albeit at the price of missing the magnificent sound and presentation in person). I will try to get a copy of the program. What a blessing Daniel has been to us all! I wish him the best in all his future education and endeavors and will continue to pray for him.

R.I.P Scott, I am glad I knew you! Scott helped me scour the church and Peel house for Christmas Eve service candles. Pastor Peel wanted me to clean the old wax off and clip the wicks. He helped me load all those boxes in my car to take them home. He helped me unload all the boxes when I brought the them back. We were friends and we always had a conversation. I have a handwritten note from Scott too. What a nice, kind, funny guy to know.

What a great sermon. Thank you for teaching us we must reconcile with people that something bad has happened between us. We need Grace. And to remember Jesus died on the cross for us. We need to honor that ultimate sacrifice. TY Pastor Carrie

We are thankful for the generosity of its members, as my Daughter gets to attend the Lutheran Youth gathering… she is so excited to be able to go! ( & she doesnt get too excited about alot of things being a teen!😂) we would not be able to afford her way, if it wasn’t for the kindness of this church and our congregation! What a wonderful sermon. I am always looking for where God wants me to be. I stay there for awhile then once I have done all the good I can I am ready to move on. Thankfully God guides me to where I belong and have a purpose.

That’s why I joined this Church in 1993, the unity. I joined too because of the great youth programs. There are so many opportunities to spread Jesus’s word. Whether it is summer Bible School, which is so necessary, or writing notes with Jesus words in them to people who can’t come to Church anymore, there are chances to spread God’s word. I feel a part of a place that loves to help those that are down. This is a place where you can love one another and be loved back. TY First Lutheran!

My Grandmother and Mother were a constant living Faith until they went to be with Jesus. I am trying to live that faith life as a legacy for my daughter and grand children. Thank you, Pastor Travis for being that faith person in my life. Thank you for making it possible for we who cannot go to church any longer, to be able to watch the service from home.
