“It’s probably better than nothing I think” are exactly the words I use when I expect there is a good probability I just wasted my time doing whatever it was I was doing. But it was a nice few hours in the sunshine and the first day it rains and no water finds its way in your camper you will be reassured. Always appreciate the content. Cheers.

Thanks for the Video. I was wondering how the caps came off. I will probably do something similar to this when I put my camper on. I think you should not have caulked the out sid edge. The if water get in it will not have any way out and what you really want is to not have water on the inside. So I would have caulked just the inside of the cap.

But if you get a car with push started it usually comes with a key fob regardless you can let your kids in before you so not really understanding the logic behind that. Unless the price of Lariat is what you did not want to pay

I've been shopping these truck toppers for a couple years. From Alucab and everything I have seen at more than three Overland Expose. I too asked Kyle from Loan Peak, in person about an 8 foot tent top for my Gladiator. He was not interested. However I am sold on his camper. I feel the best bang for the buck is Loan Peak. Good luck!!!

I would get the lone peak. It is the most reasonably priced camper out of all the campers that I've looked at. I don't like the go fast camper because it has no accessories. On your maps it showed you were coming from Portland so you wouldn't have to worry about the shipping You can just drive there. I live in Oregon as well and it's only a five and a half hour drive for me. I'm going with a lone peak. Just can't afford it right this moment.

I believe they've fixed the compass underwater setting. Have they addressed the message security/privacy issues?

My ranger says it was built on 10/2024 and should not require an upgrade I purchased (egr style j hooks, ) that the upper part bolts to the cargo hold down loops) Watching this video I see my truck bed does not have the sheet metal elbow you cut out and painted. My bed is solid sheet metal on that bend, (the open spaces are solid sheet metal) so look stronger. As I do plan on installing a smart cap evo. I am going to install the egr j hooks anyway!!!!!!!! I will jack up my frame, and remove the rear tires, to make more elbow room. My dealership was clueless.

We built our own and love it 👍 We thought about building/adding a clam shell top with an overhang, but we personally like the open top for stargazing. 😎 Also, Snap Outfitters is on the east coast and it appears they will customize some.

Please help guide me before i consider purchasing this. As a Freediver / Spearfisherman iv been using land marks by eye at certain dive spots " old school" I curious that if i come across an nice new chunck of reef that i would like to "mark / Log as a point of interest " after ascending from my dive.... am i able to do that? Even more important, is can i use the watch to help me locate that same spot 2 months later when visiting the region again even if it requires swimming out to it from the surface until hit the mark? basically as a navigation tool to my favourite spots.....Appreciate your help here...

The long overhang and the solid bed on lifts that gives full access to the bed of truck, and dont have to jigsaw puzzle the bed to be able to access the bed is what is most interesting to me about the lone peak

I almost got a GFC but switched to LonePeak. The reasons I did were that 1... I wanted to be able to get out of the tent without bugging whomever I was sharing the bed with. Sometimes you gotta pee. 2, the fan option 3. easily integrated electronics and 4. this is going on a BIG full size pick up. The GFC only overhangs the cab of a full size sierra by about a foot. I like the overhang... I want the extra space. 5. front window that opens so as to allow you to pass stuff between the cab of the truck and the camper. My second choice is the Tune. LOVE the glass windows. But it is about twice as much. Cant justify that.

I'm a Ford Ranger Guy. I have had Ford Rangers since 1994, But I can't get past the Aluminum Control arms and the Aluminum Brackets there using to mount the leaf springs to the rear axle. That the tensile strength is Questionable.. and the plastic sway bar links. Questionable. I'm no Engineer. but to me seems weak. Specially on an off road Truck.. Maybe the design make them strong??? Can somebody enlighten me on this.

I am happy for your purchase... I have the 2024 ranger xlt 4x2 2.3L..I couldnt see paying 2000 more for the 2.7 when Im already getting v6 power out of a 4 banger turbo.

Yea I got the double trey organizer for my Ranger and it made the center console so much more usable.

How do you know that you dont miss the extras the Lariat offers if you dont have the Lariat or ever experienced them ? reading about them is not the same as experiencing them. I am not being a wise guy at all by this. I was the exact opposite. I test drove all three , the Raptor , The XLT , and the Lariat. For me , the Lariat offered the best of all three. The Raptor , in my opinion , is more geared towards the younger generation for the speed and looks. Practicality for the raptor however is hard to justify. With the extremely lower haul and tow rating. The XLT is a great package IF you dont need or want the extra luxuries the Lariat offers. Again , if you dont test drive all the packages , you cant truly experience them. It all boils down to the opinions of each and every one of us. My only advice is to test drive all three , if your price point allows for all three , then decide on what model you want to buy. Again , reading about the options is not the same as experiencing them. I did that and was sold on a XLT. I went to my dealer and test drove all three first. I then landed on the Lariat. Everyone has their own reasons. Mine was that i found i would be using some of the extras the Lariat offered. I very much enjoyed the feel and look of the leather seats over the cloth. The bigger screen was very noticeable to me. Not having a old school key was also nice after test driving. The shifter , from the XLT to the Lariat , was also nicer for me. Again , its all our individual opinions , there is no right or wrong.

There is different settings for the lane assist but it will still bitch at you on the lowest setting. Ford needs to adjust this and I think they have in Australia. I have sold my last three cars to Carvanna, and got anywhere from $1,800 to $5,000 more than the dealers were offering. All three times went smoothly. Enjoy your Ranger, I am very happy with mine.

Not sure if you have already made a decision yet but I was kind of in the same boat as you and I found dirt box overland I absolutely love the companies thoughts all of their stuff is really well engineered and I highly recommend you check it out they're very affordable compared to most things out there now

Since information on this seems to be scarce at best, how are people determining if their Ranger requires the extra braces? From what I've seen Ford Canada hasn't been issuing notices because the notice was sent out by Ford US, and apparently some people aren't being told unless they purchased a Ford branded cap or camper. Personally I'm pretty sure my 230lb ass is applying more than 88lbs of pressure if I sit in the wrong place.

What was the reason for FX4 package? I'm considering skipping it to increase and improve towing.

Unrelated question, do you know which wire of the headlight harness connector is the one for DRLs? They have different colors and im wondering if it's the same as the overseas Rangers. I have an American ranger. Im trying to hook up an led grill and need to tap into the drls.

Great video, I've been looking for reviews where its used day to day so this was definitely useful especially after seeing your 2 week update as well so I think I'll be getting one for myself! Regarding the EDC-27 though, if it's still available I'd be interested as I have a friend who's starting to get into flashlights and I feel like it'd be a solid introduction for him.
