I love this movie
3:00 has never been more right.
I did not know Dogpatch was in the Confederacy.
They are hillbillies after all.
Wow! Great to see this video. Thank you for posting it. I worked at the Men's Health Club back in those days. I recognize a few of the people serving food, Scottie and Vinny P, and Ellie K who was administratively connected. Scottie, I hope you are well all these years later. Vinny, bless him, I know he has passed on. Ellie K., I hope the years have been kind to you too! To David, who I never met, a very belated Mazel Tov! Thanks again. Bart.
Great to see men dancing with their wives and girlfriends to American popular music unlike the many Orthodox weddings on You Tube which have no mixed dancing.
This was so much fun when it came out! Imagine the government is still the same today as it was back then!!
Unless you're talking Saudi ... Arabian
Feb 1 2023 sounds like a plan Sadie...
One of the most enjoyable shows I’ve ever seen was a middle school production of this musical in the 90s.
I assume they were rich
Musicals aren't my cup of tea, but now I kinda want to track down this lost jewel. Even if I get bored, there's plenty of eye candy for distraction.
More and more true as time goes on
wow two gorgeous people I felt like they really should have been married to one another ! lol!
Peter Palmer died Sept 21, 2021
God bless him.
I'd like to see a revival of this movie. As a kid I remember the comic strip by Al Capp, who was a genius. The humor and insight was unique.
If you carefully glance around the cast you can spot Donna Douglas and Valerie Harper as up and coming actors.
Great film!
This song is awful.
AND YOU HAVE NO TASTE
It's typical 1960s stage musical work. In the 80s the producers of "Big River" hired Roger Miller to write an actual country music score.
"Spoken like a true American patriot!"
It's 2020 and things haven't changed a bit. The country is still "in the very best of hands."
I’m sure black, brown and Native Americans didn’t think the country was in “the very best of hands “.
@@howardmoore1332 - BS. Most blacks, browns and Native Americans do not think of themselves as "victims". That is the belief of crazy progressives. Today (2023), the country is in the very worst of hands.
Its amazing how what they are singing about is still relevant today....
I knew someone would say that.
Al Capp was a jerk (RIP)
So are most great artists.
You think John Lennon wasn't a giant a'hole? Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, James Dean, all those guys, you think they weren't giant a'holes?
@@hunkydorian maybe but Lennon was anti-war & Capp was pro-Viet Nam war...I saw Al once in Cambridge MA
I actually enjoyed watching your bar mitzvah Great job
I lived down the street from Leslie Parrishes mother. Be Met her personally very beautiful woman then.Grew up with her brother. Will never forget that experience.
Valerie Harper is sitting on the ground next to Pappy
Johnny Mercer wrote those great lyrics.
Valerie Harper was in the chorus, too.
I bet they practiced this a lot before filming.
I bet they couldn't do this today with a straight face 😜
There really needs to be a Broadway revival of this great musical.

my kind of humor. And a perfect view on the Thatcher governement.
I was a kid when i saw this , today im 63 shit time flys.
Yeah, and with all that time flying, we find ourselves in the same shit in government!
I was 8 years old when I first saw this. So...31 years ago. Ahhhhhh, memories of watching classic movies and musicals on Sunday's with my mom. She introduced me to timeless films. I never wanted to watch anything past 1959 lol
Then you would remember In Like Flint
Its rapidly becoming a long time ago.
God there’s so many politicians that need to have Don’t Care Bears made out of them
Classic...still!
all we need now is angela merkel bear and jean claude juncker bear
I still got my " I survived Thatcher" T shirt somewhere
Peter Palmer was born to play LI'L ABNER. Perfect casting if ever there was some!
Yesterday's and today's events brought me here.:(
Everyday's events.
Donna Douglas and Julie Newmar both had minor roles in this wonderful movie! ☺
Also, Valerie (Rhoda) Harper.
WytZox1 as was Beth Howland. (Vera from Alice)
0:00 laurenere Oliver
0:52 Margaret as care bear
Don't forget about Trump Bear and Hillary Bear.
The United States needs a show like this. On second thought, someone would probably get all offended and sue, and this is why we can't have any fun in the States.
ha ha
In the words of Peter Griffin, "Who the hell cares!?"
Audio lag but good quality, thanks for the upload.
