Sorry for accidentally getting your video at Graceville! I was the one it’s the black and white
all good, crowded platforms will do that
@@thestargatekingCheers mate
Then we also have D5X2, D5Y2, DLT1, D1T7 & D1U7 from at the station they commence at being pretty insane. Example: the train arriving into platform two is the Brisbane City & Nambour train, running express from Booval to Ebbw Vale, then from Darra to Milton, stopping only at indooroopilly, then from Bowen Hills to Petrie, stopping only at Eagle Junction & Northgate & express from Narangba to Morayfield. That was quite a lot for me to type out, but it also is just as insane like this here is.
Three car from Gympie is wild.
I think 109 and 103 are getting refurbed because they were up in Maryborough but I dunno
i'd assume they would be if they are up there
Good videos but clean your lens.
@@brisal88sometimes it seems fine then I’ll notice after recording that it needs cleaning
The northern entrance to FV has become slower and slower over the years. I remember seeing the quarter to midnight ICE on Saturday night come in fast. Why don't they fix those bloody points.
Fingers crossed this doesn't happen to 105.
would be cool to see the old seat design remain alongside a refurbishment
Just in time for all the junkies to be on every carriage once it goes to 50 cent fares...
i enjoyed watching this
glad you liked it
I’ve taken this TOO SUNCORP and gotta do it 2 more times this year for the footy
@@BrizzysTrains it’s a fun little trip
so will they re wrap ngr 702 back to the indigenious livery
most likely
As far as i know street running trains and tracks are super exotic in australia. All the old tracks are ripped up and pulled out or covered over and forgoten which is a huge shame and waste.
They still happen in Wycheproof in Victoria from time to time. Although solely a freight track these days there is a TH-cam video of a heritage tour earlier this year running down the street
@@xr6lad , the train used to run down the street in koondrook too. there are videos on yt of street running in rockhampton . there is one video i found of the quarry train going down bunting road brooklyn in melbourne's western suburb. i havent been able to find it since.
Ah 3’ 6” narrow gauge I get the picture 👍🚂
God I hated this day so much, got up at like 5am to get on the 5:34 from lawnton then rush to the railbus to get to coorparoo intime Sony friend would pick me up to go chase, but I got there too late and I missed him to pick me up, so after that I caught the train to Ipswich but about half way through the day IK trying to echoes the hi railer that is up the ass of the steam trains then my phone died and also the portable charger died so I was stuck at Oswald for 2 hours waiting for a freight to come pick me up which he never did and didn’t get to record the steam train on its return trip back through rosewood and the train is this clip 18:11 is the one I took home from rosewood, also very close to seeing you aswell (Sorry for the essay of a comment and congrats on 800 subs) (Comment had been edited about 7 times)
the train at 18:11 is the same train i got back from Rosewood too (at that time as well, i got the clip as i was walking to the station. but yeah, it was very painful trying to get through, didnt help that i was very sleep deprived as well so i was just dying on the inside.
@@thestargatekingsorry bout that, the whole day was terrible I almost fell asleep trying to write it
What a bloody mess
Why???
Q rail done shady deal with bombarder company in which they demand they have matance contract and own sheads at wulkawracka. Big shit show. The trains were not compatible with qld standards whole electric system was replaced at walkers.
Fascinating, thanks.
Interesting D73 looks a powerful shunted & the carriage stock has unusual outboard brake arrangement ?
It's a *DH* (diesel hydraulic), ex-QR DH class, originally built in Maryborough, like a lot of Queensland locos and rollingstock were. It wouldn't be more than 600 HP. The rollingstock are Brisbane suburban trains (NGR series) that were originally built there in Maryborough. The braking system is external disk brakes on the motor cars due to the fact that these trains are Narrow Gauge (3' 6").
@@tobys_transport_videos The NGR were built in India however required significant rework in Maryborough to bring them into compliance with disability access legislation among other design faults. All previous electric multiple units for Queensland Rail were built in Maryborough Qld
@@barlimanned Thanks for the clarification. I rode a few (too many!) when I was in Brisbane in May but didn't look for a Builders' Plate. I just assumed (Obviously wrongly) that they were built in Maryborough.
shame the indigenous wrap got removed
Why?
Why?
@@xr6lad cause it was nice to see some colour on our trains, instead of just bare steel and yellow, like Melbourne with purple on there vline trains or uk trains, there always so colourful
Thanks for interesting video. I worked in Maryborough for 5 years. Do the refurbished NGR sets get towed up through Queens Park into the Maryborough yard proper? And I guess they then head off for Brisbane with juice off the wire.
yeah, once the assembled sets are ready, they get sent to Marybrough west via Queens Park where they get acceptence testing (might be a bit different for the NGR but other refurbished sets getting tested before being either towed into Mayne or driven down
0:06 is that blue loco 1104?
I don't think this is advertised but not uncommon.. Right place right time sort of thing... plus living a kilometre up the road helps in my case 😎
Great video!
Hello from USA. Very cool train system.
good video
Nice clip, what's the blue loco, beautiful. Another DH 1700 ?
@@johnmunns5964 another DH I believe, they use it when moving full train sets to the mainline, otherwise you only really need one loco
11 class, ex tassie, Emu Bay Railway, that;s 1104
1700s are DE, not DH.
@@JBofBrisbane auto correct took out my comma 🤪
No 1700 class left in regular use. There are a handful of 1720 class (same body, larger engine), but they are slowly dying, even the Kuranda ones. A few (such as class leader 1720 and 1762) are with other operators. 1754, 1734, 1770, and 1737 were seen withdrawn at Redbank at the end of May. The blue engine seen here was built (in Maryborough) for Tasmania's Emu Bay Railway. It is similar to the QR DH class and NSW 73 class. WAGR/Westrail also had a couple of this style for shunting.
Thanks for that, that way very interesting 👌
Train fix
Nice video, any idea on the unit of 160/260 at 3:42? Cheers.
162
@@thestargateking refurbishment’s maybe?
@@Jenson-Brisbaneyes, 162 is now in service saw it on Gold Coast train about 2 weeks ago
@@jacobstrains yeah I caught it on a 3-car run on the Gold Coast line couple weeks ago, looks really fresh inside
Is this NGR undergoing upgrade works. Normally trains are sent to Walkers at Maryborough when it comes to anything related to upgrades or matenence
the full NGR fleet are reciving upgrades to meet DSAPT requirements (increasing size in the original toilet module as well as introducing a second toilet module to all sets, plus other modifications and improvements to prioority seating, this unit is one of the last to recieve upgrades with the final set bein 771 which should be leaving Maryborough soon.
@@thestargateking they've been at it for quite some time haven't they
@@paulmclellan6550 yeah, they had a max of 4 trains at a time so its taken some time to do 75 train sets, but good to see it finishing up now
@@thestargateking maybe queensland rail will now revert back to having their trains built locally instead of overseas so it won't be a problem
Walkers is no longer walkers engineering it hasn’t been for some time it’s EDI Rail, the trains are made overseas by the same company in conjunction with bombardier, that is why the trains are sent to Maryborough is because the company is doing upgrades in the rail car shops, maintenance is done out at rd bank plains in the edi railshops there. If you are lucky enough to know someone who works at edi they maybe able to tell you the next lot of movements. But I spent my teenage years up until my late 20’s living in Maryborough and at one stage I was one of the night security guards there, train movements are nothing special for the locals. Fun fact most of the DH class locomotives bar a small handful were turned into sugar cane locomotives for the sugar mills around the Mackay to Townsville region.
How did you know this was happening? Do you have an app or something? If so what is it?
i was very, very, very, very lucky. i was staying in Hervey bay at the time, and noticed that the local bus network extends to Howard via Maryborugh, and one day a week theres an extra trip to howard making a return trip possible, so thats what i ended up doing, came into town earier in the morning and noticed there were a bunch of traffic control hanging around so figuered something was up, and i didnt have to wait long
😂😂😂
There was a single 6-car SMU260 doing the Gold Coast runs along with the NGRs. I did take a couple rides on it as it only ran during peak hours.
I was just there two days ago
what about one day ago
I was just like 3 days ago
The poll result was offical, Friday is picked as the 3rd video slot, so enjoy the first Friday video
How come some trains that arrive at Altandi 3 car units
having to turn around not in a siding or station, its hard to change ends in a 6 car set thats a non NGR as you have to exit onto the ground
Just love the excelleration of these sets. Enjoying these videos, keep em coming!!
What’s with all the extra services from Corinda seems to be common
this was back from a previous track closure a good few months ago when GC services were originating from Corinda during peak instead of running from the city via Tennyson. so a few extra services ran to and from Corinda to not have services be too busy from the extra passengers wanting to change trains
@@thestargateking that makes sense then cheers
The graffiti on IMU 104 is bad…
Great work as usual Dan!
cheers
Hi
hi
So this is how they run 6 cars to rosewood. I thought they drop of the back set at Ipswich. But instead they run the 6 cars to rosewood with the leading car witch is an IMU 160 not in service. But with the back 3 cars with another IMU 160 open for service.
Would be cool to see all emu units run again. But it’s to late. The majority of them are scrapped and if they survive to 40 years old then they would be retired. Probably by 2026. As most are not going to exceed that age.
i think at least half of them still exist, maybe a few are decomisioned but not scrapped. i doubt any more will be withdrawn until the next train fleet come in
Great video like usual mate. I always look forward when you post.
Thanks
I am currently staying on this Line. My Relatives have a house at Everton Park that I am looking after until mid July . I actually live in the Gatton Area . I currently travel by Train to Work , Hop off at Bowen Hills & then onto Airport Train ... Thankyou ...
Great Fun...
That’s actually insane, Corinda to Varsity Lakes, Gympie North Train at Corinda, must have been really chaotic
Was good fun, one of the Ipswich trains failed to stop at the station however I wasn’t able to record that.
All stations would have been cooler, especially with Graceville being so unique. I'll make sure to record it when i next go up
i might one day do something for the ipswich line that i did for the Ferny Grove line, i may however keep it within Darra to the city cause 15 min frequency
That run into the Toowoomba Station over Bridge St into the yards hasn't changed one bit since I was there 30ish years ago. Thanks for sharing =)
👍👍👍
Nice video!
