First off, congratulations on your engagement!!! I follow you on Instagram, so I knew about it, but it was great to hear about how it fit into your vacation to the UK and how Nick proposed to you. I am very happy for both of you! I am glad you had a great time visiting Great Britain and Scotland and it was nice to hear about all of the wonderful things you were able to do while you were there. I am glad you got to see some amazing sites such as Jane Austen's house and her family's gravesites, as well as the Harry Potter exhibit at the filming studio, as well as your visit to Waterstone's. It only made sense that you acquired some great books in the process as well. I have been filming group content, but I do need to get back to filming individual content. I have been doing more with groundwork for the channel. I am happy to hear that you are having a nice move into your new house and it is great to hear that you are going to have a reading room exclusively for yourself. I hope you enjoy your upcoming reads and am looking forward to hearing more about them! Thank you for sharing! -Josh

The Great Gatsby always makes me smile because I have such an interesting reading history with it. I had to read it in high school twice, and I HATED it both times. Then, I had to read it in college, and I fell absolutely in love. It's funny how sometimes the timing matters when it comes to reading a book!

Yes! I remember reading books in school and never wanting to read them again, then time goes by and I find out I actually really loved the books!! I will say, when I read Romeo and Juliet in school I really enjoyed it!!

Hi! I’m absolutely cracking up right now, when I was giving the description for Death At Morning House, I said that the main characters love interest was a fire fighter…which is TOTALLY NOT TRUE😅 I must have gotten something mixed up because I was just watching this back and was like “what???” So anyway, sorry for the confusion and the misunderstanding!

I like how raw and authentic you are. I do not even bother to film TBRs or wrap-ups all that often, because I generally do not read the number of books that many Booktubers read, but I would rather see something like this where you are immersed in the subject matter of what it is you read and hear about your experiences. I will have to do more research on One Dark Window, because it sounds like you found it very engaging. I like animal memoirs as long as it is more so about the animal. I read My Dog Tulip and it had to do with the writer's expectations and was more concerned about his dog's sex life. The Penguin Lessons was better, for it concentrated more on Juan Salvador the penguin, even though we get a sense of Tom Michell's life and the time and place at which he is in. I am optimistic that Walking Alison takes on more of the latter tone, especially if it is coming from the imagined perspective of Dee the Poodle. I have had good experiences with Poodles or Poodle-mix breeds (Labradoodles or Poodle-Bichon Frises) and two of the Gladiators have Labradoodles. That is probably the one I am most inclined to read. I hope YOU are enjoying what you are reading. I am not sure what I would suggest that you complete on your channel. Perhaps a visit to one or more of your local, independent bookstores and what you got while you were there or I would encourage you to complete one of my foodie book tags, but that would make me biased. You do what you enjoy, for that is what makes this a great community. Everyone has something special to offer. I am with you, though, where I am finding myself exhausted from work to the point where I come home and want to take a nap. I have very early hours that allow me to do that as well. Thank you for sharing! -Josh

You have quite a nice reading list for the fall. I also love how elaborate you are, but within reason, so that we the reader do not feel like we are being hit with spoilers going into the work. I have the complete collection of Sherlock Holmes that I acquired through mass market paperbacks, but I need to get to them when I have the opportunity. I, too, did not like The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, but there is something about A Darker Shade of Magic that strikes my curiosity, but I am not sure how much I am going to enjoy it in all honesty. That is, whether I get to it. I have read a few books by Agatha Christie, primarily for the channel. I enjoy her writing and the way she weaves together a mystery. I am also inclined to look into Riley Sager now that you have mentioned his work and how intrigued I am with the storyline of The Only One Left. The concept to Fatal Throne looks intriguing, but I guess a lot will have to do with the genre and the approach that is taken with this book. Thank you for sharing and I hope you have a great time reading during the fall! -Josh

It sounds like you had a great reading month and have a great reading month planned for July! Ella Minnow Pea sounds like it is the perfect discussion book, though I can see where one can find it as "okay." I would have to be the judge if I ever got around to reading that book. Julia Quinn appeared on The Weakest Link back in the day. I remember her from that and she was writing then, too. I know that I spoke about Remarkably Bright Creatures with someone. Perhaps it was with you. It sounds like such a beautiful, poignant piece. The read the entire Hunger Games trilogy back in 2012. I loved the first book, but did not like Catching Fire or Mockingjay. I did not really like Peeta, but plenty of readers did. I preferred Gale, but felt that Katniss was perfectly okay on her own, despite the fact that she did need a partner to compete with in The Hunger Games. I did not read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, nor am I sure that I plan to do so. Sunrise on the Reaping, the next book, sounds like it is a prequel to the trilogy, but a sequel to Songbirds and Snakes. There is already a film adaptation planned for 2026. It feels like Suzanne Collins is merely boiling the pot, though her background is in television work. Ari from our channel did a video on Nancy Drew and he has said that it is better than The Hardy Boys because of its attention to story rather than the sheer adventure. I have yet to read either, but it is interesting how timeless the series truly is. Thank you for sharing and I hope you have a great reading month in July! -Josh

Remarkably Bright Creatures was so good I recommend it to everyone and anyone! I’m definitely excited to start The Hunger Games and hope it lives up to the expectations! I’m only 4 pages in currently, but I do plan to read more of it throughout August!

What was the place you visited after breakfast, with the beautiful white fountain and white pillars? I'm in PA and would love to visit there 🤍⛲️

We went to Hotel Hershey! It is right behind the Hershey Gardens! So beautiful, we walked the grounds while they played jazz music! So peaceful!

This is a great, varied list!! Totally agree about Gatsby, Anne of Green Gables, OUABH, and Divine Rivals! I need to read Caraval, I’m already out of order for her books, haha. Where the Crawdads Sing and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue both got me back into loving reading as an adult after college! 😊

Thank you!! Caraval was a fun series to read, but OUABH will always be my favorite from that world! I’ve never read either of those books (I tried Addie LaRue but ended up DNFing because I wasn’t enjoying it but I was also trying to get back into reading and was figuring out what I liked to read)! I’ve heard Where The Crawdads Sing is amazing!

@@aquainthobbit I’m excited to continue on in the OUABH series! Aww too bad about Addie LaRue, I would definitely try to get back to it but it is a slow one, so I get it if you can’t get into it, haha. Crawdads was great!! 😊

Ah so relatable!! I appreciate your self control too rather than buying piles of books all the time as is common on book tube now. I never got to buy books as an adolescent but my mother and I visited the library every week. In my 30s now and i do buy books like classics and some literary fictions, but mostly I use the library and Libby.

Yes! That’s a topic I’m going to be talking about in my next video (Unpopular Bookish Opinions)! I love that you use the library and that it’s still apart of your life! Buying books is so nice, but I think it becomes a problem really fast when it’s just for content purposes like we see a lot nowadays!

So fun!! You definitely put more thought into this than I did when I first started reading his books, haha I need to maybe figure out the order I’ll read in so I get the most out of it! Tress of the Emerald Sea is one of my top books of this year so far, and I know it will be a while until you read it but it’s so good! 😍

@@aquainthobbit oops I totally missed this! But yeah Easter eggs are definitely fun! Yes, absolutely loved Tress and hope you will too when you get to it! Hmm, well Oathbringer is up next for Stormlight and I’m dying to get to it already but I kind of want to read Warbreaker or maybe one of the novellas in the cosmere… Just to slightly read some of these books in a better order but I don’t know 😂

It's funny I took have the habit of taking on lots of books at once. Sometimes it's ok but it can get a little over the top for me😅 I tend to like having 2 or 3 books going at a time one is usually super chill and comforting for bedtime unwind and then the daytime books are more exciting or just require more brain power. I love how open and real you are. Those are qualities I find to be super beautiful. Keep making lots of videos, I always look forward to them❤
