How to: VPX Launcher - based on Visual Pinball 10.8.0 RC4 rev. 1975
The VPX Launcher is the most convenient way to play Visual Pinball VR without having to take your hands off the flipper buttons. The table selection is done through a configurable overlay that is directly integrated into Visual Pinball. The tables are automatically recognized and matched with a database. You can create clear lists using freely definable filters. Additionally, it displays a preview of all currently available pinball tables and shows their high scores.
The launch behavior of VPX can also be configured in various ways. For instance, you can set up different configurations for your 2D cabinet and VR environment. Moreover, the launcher includes a function that detects ready VR devices. This way, you can start in 2D mode without a VR device, and if you turn on your VR device, VPX will start in the VR environment.
The program can be configured to download automatic updates, so new releases are directly integrated.

How it works. Download here: vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/vpx-vr-launcher/ This is a loader for VPinballX_GL.EXE. With the included vpx-vrlauncher.exe and vpx-vrlauncher.vpx it's now possible to switch tables with plunger and flipper keys. Now you can stay at your cabinet playing and switching tables without the need of VR-controls. If you exit a table, the table-selection will be shown again.

For fresh install you can use it as your vpx home. add vpinmame etc Or you can backup your vpxexe and install inside your existing vpx

I'm interested to know what the black screen is with text between table loads? Normally the desktop would be shown, have you now got a separate desktop screen that hides the other stuff on the desktop?
yes, it's optional. you can blackout desktop - the current state is shown. look at settings window.

So ESC to bring up the list of tables, start to select the list, flippers to select a table, then plunger to play the new table.. I could deal with that..
controlling tweak menu is something already defined by VPX
When i launch a table vr launcher just hangs and says not responding. Only when i close vr launcher do i see the table and am able to play it. Any ideas?
Fixed my issue. Had to change vr connection from openxr to oculus
How the hell do you get this working my launcher never opens in vr just opens flat all the time

yes - I use it with virtual desktop and openxr on Quest3
@@b4st137 Can you explain how to do that? I connect my Quest 3 with VD, but when I launch VPXVR, it always opens up steamvr.
you have to replace the openvr64.dll (something like that) inside VPX folder with a magic new one for openxr. google this or look for this file at vpuniverse. (make backup for old file)

Your launcher is fantastic. If I can make a suggestion, I'd love to be able to sort by release date instead of alphabetically.
you can set filters for decades - see the 1980s example in config.xml

Ja, das geht ab VPX 10.8. Anleitungen gibt's auch aber nicht von mir. Musst du mal in den VPX Foren, Discord- oder Facebookgruppen gucken.
Hi guy, I have the room with all tables and I can choose, but when I hit enter I always come back to the room with all tables, something is wrong in the config.ini in vr launcher, do you have an idea?

it's your problem - vpx is not launching correctly. check logfile - check your setup. (config.xml or right click on trayicon and check logfile after table selection) 1st Step: README.TXT

Is there any way to use motion controllers for this? Or do you need to use your keyboard/gamepad. I don't have a pinball controller yet so my options are XBOX One pad, Switch Pro Controller, Keyboard or Motion Controllers
Yes, you can configure the launcher to use vr-controller. But you have to use it in VPX in first place. So there are solutions discussed in vrpinball forums. I have a pincab so it's not my point of interest.

I like it! I think this interface is better than its previous versión. That one was beautifull but a little confusing. I like this new one. Only left or right. Easy like Pinball X . Thank you very much!

You can setup the camera in /vrlauncher4/config/config.xml.
@@b4st137 Awesome I Haven’t been able to get to it I’ve been in so much pain the last couple days no I can’t do much of anything. I was in a car accident years back and I’m disabled now but somedays are pretty decent but most days suck because of the pain. The days that the pain is better I have a Lot of fun playing these pinball tables. Thanks

Nice idea. I played around just with a Virtual Deskop and running PinballX, which kinda worked but I always thought I could write some AHK script to fix the focus issues. Hope your idea works out, I mean grows nicely. Good luck, great stuff
I'm sure with AHK you can build a script wich can fix this by watching the window-processes.
