One way that they do not mention that it is true, is that Emmanuel Goldstein is trying to tell the audience that the revolution has been betrayed and he is speaking in favour of democracy and freedom of speech. The audience does not listen to what he says and then start shouting abuse at him, they just start screaming at him, forbidding all discussion and logical argument, the moment that he starts speaking. Try to discuss anything with some of today's pressure groups and you just get screamed at and called a thisaphobic, a thataphobic or a Godkowswahataphobic. Maybe no one will read this, but as it says in 1984, I am a lonely ghost uttering a truth that on one will ever hear!
