*BLOOD WARNING* Hey everyone! Hope you are doing splendid, and if not maybe this video will change that. To say I was nervous about getting my wisdom teeth out would be a huge understatement, but it was such a breeze and afterward, I didn't feel a thing (obviously). "moving an hour and a half" Me who has to move continents (I'm in Africa)
Watching this for my kid on 2024
I like to know where to find my passes and the administration building like easy mapping.
Thank you so much for the video! It was an amazing one! So, from what I have been told so far about PU that it is very difficult and challenging. Is it for the top students only? How do students survive there? It is been so many years since I graduated from high school and I plan to go to PU for my electrical engineering (BS)
I live 14 hours away......SHIT..
Did you like Purdue in the end? Or would you have chosen a different school if you could have?
How many weirdos like this are there?
I moved 20 hours away from where I live to purdue.
I watched your video because my daughter's first choice is Purdue. I hope she meets people there as nice as you appear to be. Hope your life has gone well since you made these videos - you're helping people far into the future.
Weepy ❤
Such a kick in the pants to watch and read the comments. It is so different than when I went in the 1970's. Every dorm (that I remember}had cafeterias. I lived in Shreve and now you have to go across to Earheart for cafeteria? Completely different system. Now there are Starbucks?! There was pizza delivery for off campus food and that was about it. Anyway, I agree with MAKE AS MANY FRIENDS AS YOU CAN... FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD!!! It will change your life. Good luck to you all!!
My niece is heading to Purdue in two weeks....thank you so much for making this video 🤗 I am going to forward this to her.
OMG that is so funny!! It’s also great how you handled it. There are some people that would freak out, but you saw the sense of humor in it!! That trait will help you a lot it life.
I loooved this video. If you can, please make more. Thankss.
hi - aside from engineering, what other courses or major do you recommend?
Very helpful- thanks!
Hour and a half? Try 13 hours lol
^
17 hours here..... By airplane
can you still move in early if you decide not to attend bgr
An hour and a half away??? More like 7 hours
Just live in Chicago
Most people don't know this but Dae learned those chords in about an hour...not the easiest chord progression to pick up. Also she is usually a soprano...and sings wayyy lower in this song and still NAILS it! So kudos from an adoring fan!!!!
Awesome job on this 🤩👏
Is it true that its a hard school?
Hey, what’s your major? Something plant-related, I’m assuming?
It is Public Horticulture!
If you speak "on your soapbox" that way to people isn't that just discrimination and or harassment, which is not protected by the first amendment?
you need to make sure there is no THIEF FACULTY and Cheating students at purdue
so you cant just take your car up there? you have to win a pass?
That was good advice. I'm looking forward to the video on what to bring/what not to bring.
wait how did she know i live an hour and a half away 😳😳
Cause 80% of us live in Chicago
How is the music major there?
I am not sure! I don't know anyone in it, sorry /:
This is a pretty interesting video, I do have to say. I was randomly just looking up horticulture, because it is what I was planning on going to a tech school for, and this intrigued me, especially because it was recommended to me with only 489 views lol. Good job on entertaining my random boredom and teaching me something about a future career :)
Oh my goodness! I am watching this on 7/2/20 and your comments at the end about hoping this semester is better than the last broke my heart!!! Who would have ever thought your 2020 spring semester would have been coronavirus crazy! Best wishes to you hon, as you go back to a different campus in the fall. Watching this as a mother of an incoming freshman and we appreciate your honesty and tips!
Please tell us what to bring, thanks!
Show!
Glad you mentioned the crazy preachers that are always yelling. I think the one guy that was always at the painted tree got arrested. I honest find it hilarious, but it’s also really annoying.
I’m sorry that someone came up to you and told you you were going to hell for wearing a tattoo. I’m someone who loves Jesus and I am a proud Christian and I wouldn’t say that to you. They didn’t show u the true love of Jesus man!! I’m genuinely so sorry. You are loved 🤍 John 3:16. If we ever met in person i would not come to u like that. Jesus
Take back hillenbrand came in clutch for me. First, go make two quesadillas. While they're cooking, put some formless food in the bottom. Then put on the quesadillas in the middle and you should have room for some sandwiches or food that will hold it's shape, and fill the gaps with sunflower seeds or raisins. I'd get a couple pounds of food, and it served as a week's worth of breakfasts. Hungry on a Sunday evening? Get to St. Thomas Aquinas Center for their $3 dinner at 5:30. It is always fresh and delicious, and I made some of my best friends there. Best Student Organization: Boilermakers for Life, a group dedicated to defending the defenseless.
do freshman need to bring a refrigerator/ Microwave for the dorm?
I would suggest a mini-fridge and a microwave yes! Large fridges will not fit in the dorms, but a mini-fridge is perfect and you can set your microwave right on top of it (that's what my roommate and I did)
My son will Freshman this year , please do a video on what to bring
That will be coming soon!
Are there any graduating requirements like highschool (language, sport etc)
GREAT question!! You need two years of a foreign language, and four years of math I believe! I almost didn't catch this and had to reschedule my senior year to make sure I had enough of a foreign language. Here is a link that will help! www.admissions.purdue.edu/apply/highschoolcourses.php No sports requirements!
groovyboony I actually meant requirements to graduate from Purdue. Like a core class or something.💙💙
@@apoorvashrivastava3924 oh! Those vary depending on your major, when you talk to your academic advisor they will let you know what you need :)
How many classes do people usualy take in a semester ?
The average amount is 5 or 6 depending on how many credits each class, typically 15 credit hours is normal!
Can you make a video about what people should bring to college? Especially for Purdue?
That will be coming soon!!
Question, how did you find a roommate? Do you have any tips about dorm living?
So I found my roommate on Facebook. Usually for each class of students there is a "Class of" page (for example mine is Purdue University Class of 2021) and I think it is super beneficial joining one of these. You can post about needing a roommate there or you can find a "Freshman Class of (insert your graduation date here) Roommate Page" and do it that way. Just mess around with search options and something should pop up where you can find someone. I will be making a video about dorm living in the next couple of months so stay tuned :)
groovyboony awesome! Thanks so much!
I’ve narrowed my college decision to either Purdue or Butler...and so far your vids have been super helpful!!
You seem like such a genuinely nice person and it really sounds like you care. Thank you for making such cool videos; we love seeing them! I'm interested in going to Purdue and you've been really helpful. :)
Awww I appreciate this so much!
Bare with me? Do you mean bear with me? I hope this is not XXX
What were the prices of moving in early?
I believe the price of BGR is $320!
"the freshman 15 doesn't exist at purdue" me: gains freshman 40 instead
do you know anything about switching majors? i just accepted my offer but i just don’t think the major i got accepted for is right for me and i have no idea what to do now
I do not know personally because I have never had to switch, but if you search Purdue CODO I believe that will steer you in the right direction. Also if you get in touch with your academic advisor they can help you figure the process out as well! Hope everything works out :)
I would advise taking your pup to an obedience class. It is worth the investment for sure! My dog was born in 2011 and is still going strong! But obedience classes are amazing!
Thank you for the advice! However, she is a Carolina dog and I am afraid obedience classes wouldn't do her any good. Since this video she has calmed down and become much more well mannered, she barely even knew us when I filmed this!
I was like, “That’s me! I’m the cousin!” Lol Love you Dae 💕 And I completely understand how you’re feeling! This is such a crazy situation.
