Why Your Weight Matters When Buying Running Shoes
I was waiting for Yowana style hotel hallway test run. By the way, the sound volume in your videos is always low. I have to crank it up to hear you speak and then, bam (commercial) or soundrack. Most video editors have sound boosting options for speech. The music is normal volume level.
@@troutjunkie7330 😂😂 & the feedback is much appreciated! I’ll definitely work on the audio.
I got 3 pairs 1 wide and 2 regular, ile probly sell one of them, I can run in these 60-70% of the time but not all the time i tend to get shin splint when i only wear those
@@humbertomanteiga yeah I feel you, I definitely agree we should be rotating shoes.

bro where you live, I'm booking a flight lol. I can't find it anywhere in my size
@@caleballen8862 hahah ST Pete!
Too good to be true. Likely a fake 🧐🤞
could be! lol
Holy moly 50% off? I wish we have that promo in Ph
Good shoe very comfortable, but I couldn’t pick up pace in it. Recovery runs in the shoe is awesome legs feel great after any run.
@@adrainawls after a few runs I’m beginning to agree with you.
let me quess, USA only again? :)
Nice find for 50% off, haven't seen this one on sale even once ... Good shoe imo BUT its over hyped tbh. Well protective and good for bigger runners - do not bottom out in long over 3h runs - feels same through whole run. A bit slipery in wet and looks on feet like huge boat but at least dont feel clunky some how ...
SB2 fixes all that
Gift me brother ❤
lol!
Too narrow for me...

Still debating on the New Balance Rebel V4 and the Adidas Adizero SL2 for my tempo/interval sessions.
Good review, but you spent over 5mins talking about this review without actually reviewing anything. 🤣🤣. You must have been nervous because I've done the same thing. Or you weren't quite sure where you should start and lean in. Fun!!.. But seriously, keep up the good work; let me know if I can help ;) I can't wait to see your next video. You got this!

Just did my first long run yesterday felt amazing during and today as well! 🎉
Helll yeah!

Yeeeee let’s gooo
Yessaaa!!
I have the rebel v4 too and wen I put them on feet I was like this the shoe then wen and got the first run and yeah they with the shit they got take on a 5 mile trip run in 105 3 days ago and they had grip shit crazy them rebels on the trails shit it a street shoe lol it got the job done
I'm tellin you! Plus they can easily be used as a walkin shoe, they look good enough for casual use.
I can tell you’re a cool guy! I’m glad I found your channel!
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Try the Adidas Adizero SL2😉
Aiight Coo! Coppin them next!
Looking at the two pairs of the Rebel V4 I use in rotation, #1 has 107 miles & #2 has 60 miles. Certainly no issues with lack of "pop" after 100+ miles. Then again, I am 63" (makes me sound taller 😂) and 110 lbs. I can't wait for the SC Trainer V3 - the shoe that looks like my 1080 V13, SC Trainer V2 & Rebel V4 decided on Ménage à trois at a world marathon major.
Agreed! I think people who say it loses it's "pop" just want another training shoe lol! Also agree about the SC Trainer, they look good and I have a really good feeing they'll preform even better.
These still look good after 100 miles
These will deff get to the 3hunnit club!
I recently tried these on at fleet Feet and really enjoyed the fit and feel, but I still want to try on the adizero SL2 before I make a purchase.
The Sl2 is very good. It's light, comfortable, and poppy when picking up the pace. I have the Rebel V4 coming soon so I should be able to compare both
Getting those next! :)
Let us know! Much appreciated!
Hopeposting lifemaxxing
Amen!
If you dig carbon, go w/Adidas rods v. a plate (for the torsion flex in the mid and forefoot). I don't wear carbon and in '24 more research is coming in addressing the added bone stress you place on your body/mechanics and what it's doing to your joints/ligaments/tendons. Go to any sports physical therapist and they'll tell you if your bmi is over 24 or so, you probably should not be running in carbon. For many, carbon is like nicotine and I'm guessing by '26 you will see carbon shoes sold with disclaimers on health, no different than cigarettes and alcohol. Why? The class action lawsuits a stirring up with the more volume of carbon wearers and data/research coming in - so deniability cannot be claimed - right now the shoe makers are simply looking the other way...
Very insightful, much appreciated. Have you heard of any major injuries citing carbon shoes? I feel like we would have seen/heard of such by now. Also, how do you feel about nylon or plastic plates? Lastly, what about plates in maxx cushion trainers?
@@OffseasonProjects "Research has also shown that running in supershoes changes your form: It decreases your cadence, increases stride length and peak vertical forces, and alters foot mechanics. All these add stress to joints. “When you put a supershoe on, you basically have a trampoline,” Dicharry says. “It’s going to compress and rebound, and creates a different rate of loading to muscles and joints.” While no studies to date directly demonstrate that supershoes cause injury, evidence links them to stress fractures, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy, and other foot and lower-leg issues" - Outdoorsonline Aug '23. "In a 2018 study by Wouter Hoogkamer, Shalaya Kipp & Rodger Kram in Sports Medicine, carbon fiber-plated shoes were found to have changes on the gait of the runners wearing them - specifically, decreased cadence, longer steps, and a longer vertical “flight” time. In turn, these changes caused higher ground reaction forces with each step. Differences in ankle and metatarsophalangeal joint mechanics were observed when wearing carbon fiber footwear" - Triathlete Be mindful, from a science/data perspective, this is all in its infancy. A technology designed for elite runners on race day only is being adopted by regular people for daily run use, the new studies/research is coming out monthly as the numbers are just now trickling in. Look how long it took to get tobacco to be honest about its effect on health. Max cushion shoes are heavier and less responsive = relatively safe on you mechanics - however that goes out the window when you see companies like Hoka come out with the Skyward X, a carbon max cushion shoe. That's a cash grab to appeal to those getting addicted to carbon. There's enough out there now for people to decide if they want to roll the dice, or error on the side of caution. I've been doing this for almost 45 years and there's a real question if a person with a 25 BMI can wear a carbon shoe as a daily trainer and run for 10 years. What's the impact of the additional bone stress over the course of a decade? I'm not into plates, I like to feel the road and clock 10K daily in a non-sexy rotation (880, Glycerin, Adrenaline, Nimbus, Mach 6) standard stuff, nothing fancy.
I like your vibe, dude. Keep runnin’.
Really appreciate that !! Definitely!
I just ordered the pro 3
How are you liking the /
Them
first vid of yours i have come across. love the format and vibes. all the best man
Really appreciate that! 🙏🏾
be more professional and put on a shirt.
I’ll think about it.
I've been liking mine. They're way lighter and breathe better than the Nike Pegasus's I was using before. I run on my forefoot and haven't had issues with durability. My only gripe is that the insoles slide back after a while when I run.
This shoes has bad durability the midsole after 50-70 miles lost much of response
Is it falling apart? Or similar to mine?
@@OffseasonProjects Not falling apart, the midsole is flatter without any response and many creasing.
Hey, as a bigger runner you not finding them to soft ? Personally had v3 and not going to get v4 - even though shoe looks awesome:)
Man, great question. I asked myself this same one. I feel it really depends on the event. For my long runs or recovery runs, I feel they're perfect for impact absorption. Keeping my legs and knees fresh. Where as, for my tempo are harder sessions, a stiff shoe (or carbon plated shoe) would be ideal. I'll do a video on this topic, this was a great question.
The location of the outsole wearing is to be expected. The two pairs I run in have the same issue. In order to keep weight down, NB didn't add or extend protection in this area. BTW, check out the FlipBelt. Much more comfortable for carrying gels and hydration.
My guy!! Always coming through! Much appreciated!! 👌🏾. Instantly bought the flipbelt!
The speed bubble has burst speed 1/2 were ahead of the game at the time, now there is so much choice and good shoes to buy.
what would you say saucony endorphin pro 4 vs adidas boston 12 vs new balance 1080v13 / new balance rebel v4? which would you recommend>?
Isn't the 1080 v13 more of a cushioned shoe compared to the other 3 which have more of a pace component?
1080 is great for walking/recovery, but the Rebel will be way more in-class compared to the Saucony and Adidas.
Out of those options, the Rebel V4 is probably the best shoe, as it has the best price point, ventilation, and cushion.
agreed - also pro 4/ bs 12 are both plated shoes. Where as the Rebel is all natural. lol.
Where did you find that colorway? I can't see them anywhere for sale. So if I have the Speed 3 low milage there is no need to upgrade you think?
This color way is a collab with REI. You should be able to locate them there. Based on my research, most folks enjoy the 3 over the 4. But it’s worth at least trying on. I just didn’t vibe with them.
@@OffseasonProjects Thanks man. I did try them on and I liked them but I never tried running in them. Speed 3’s are great but I feel somethings could get better and I can’t put my fingers on them.
the volume is too low.
Copy that boss - we a work in progress lol
I have two pairs of these in my rotation (along with the V3, SC Trainer V2 and 1080v13). Absolutely love 'em! Not much of a fast runner anymore but, when I want to pick up the pace, the Rebel V4 does the job. I will say that before I bought the first pair, I tried on the V4 and didn't like the feel. It was later in the afternoon, which is the best time to try on shoes. Something about the arch didn't give me good vibes. A few weeks later I gave the V4 another try and purchased them. So glad I did.
Do you think the rebel v4 pairs well with the 1080v13? I was considering getting a pair to go along with my 1080v13 but I’m not sure if they are too similar without trying them on and I don’t really have a store near me that has them
@@kutanah Rebel V4 & 1080 v13 are a great pair. The 1080 is the Cadillac (plush) & the Rebel is the weekend roadster.
@@realDougSheppard i was interested in getting a faster pair of shoes so I might consider getting the rebel if you think it will do a better job for faster pace workouts. thank you
@@kutanah Definitely!
This comment is perfect timing, are you using the 1080v13 for long runs?
the only shoe which I instantly liked after just putting them on is Saucony Endorphin Pro 2.There was a break in period for me in Adidas Adizero Boston 12 ,Saucony Endorphin Speed 3,Asics Magic Speed 3.Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 actually comes alive at faster paces. Adizero Boston 12 after the break-in is effortless now.
Couldn’t agree more, I hear so many good things about the Pro 2. Are you still running in them?
@@OffseasonProjects oh yes,I bought them on sale.Just done one HM and one 10k race in them. They are practically new right now😊
The Boston 11 are carbon energy rods and not nylon. My mistake!
So beautiful

Hey there, I am training for sub 1.45 half marathon and I'm in need of a running shoe that will work great for daily miles and races too. (budget ~ $100) Please recommend me some shoes
Hey! I would definitely check out the Adidas Boston 12 (discounts should get you under $100). Great all around training shoe and once broken in would be a great racing shoe for any distance. More - Saucony Pro 3 ~ $110 Saucony Speed 3 ~ $110
Good job! I ran a 4 mile base today :)
