Easy homemade sub rolls

INGREDIENTS
●1 Cup Milk (245g)
●2 ½ tbsp sugar (30g)
●2 tbsp or 1 packet Active Dry Yeast (11g)
●3 Cups Bread Flour (450g)
●1½ tsp salt (12g)
●2 Eggs Beaten
●3 tbsp Unsalted Butter (42g)
EGG WASH
●1 Egg White Beaten
●1 tbsp Water
In a medium-sized bowl, add warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let bloom for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
As the yeast mixture blooms, combine the bread flour and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer.
Add the yeast mixture and beaten eggs to the flour and salt. Knead on low speed for 2 to 3 minutes until a shaggy dough forms, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a spatula as needed.
Add in the butter and knead for an additional 2 minutes until butter is fully incorporated and the dough is smooth.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and roll into a tight ball.
Lightly grease a large bowl, turning the dough ball to coat and cover. Cover and let rest for 1 hour or until doubled in sized.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and punch the dough down.
Divide into six equal pieces (approximately 140g - 145g each) and roll into individual dough balls.
Using a rolling pin, roll each dough ball into a rectangle that is approximately 9 inches wide, by 5 inches tall. The dough should be between ¼ to ½-inch thick.
Starting with the long side, tightly roll the dough into a loaf shape. Pinch the end seams together until they are smooth.
Place seam side down on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Alternatively, you can roll it out without a rolling pin, as shown in the video
Cover rolls with cling wrap and/or kitchen cloth till double in size
Mix the egg white and water in a small bowl and gently brush over loaves.
Using a razor blade or sharp kitchen knife, score the dough ¼ deep in three spots.
Bake for 18 - 22 minutes until golden brown
Remove from oven and transfer to a wire rack. Allow them to cool completely before slicing.

Have you ever doubled this recipe? Does it double well that you know of? My rolls didnt come out as big but they were still amazing!!! What size is your wood board if you dont mind me asking
Heya🙃👋🏽I'm glad they at least tasted good even though they weren't as big,The board is 45cm×30cm. Maybe next time, let them prove longer? I kept mine in a warm spot, so they proved up fast. Try leaving them for longer than the time stated on the recipe if need be(could take up to an hour depending on where you placed them). 💕Hope they come out great next time

Looks tasty! It’s a sponge cake as I can see, will save the recipe! If someone likes to experiment - you can make a frosting for topping when you bake the cake until it’s hot - sugar powder mix with orange juice (from 2-3 oranges approx) and if they are sweet - add a big of lemon juice. Mix well and pour over the hot cake and let it dry. The nuts can add on top of frosting
