    In my lifetime, I've installed every shower surround material you can think of, including wood, arch panels, metal, glass, glass block, tile, rolled laminate, vinyl, PVC, and shiplap. But I've never installed them so poorly as this.

    How does the suction power compare to the old version WD0139. I’ve had the older version and had fantastic suction power. I’ve used the Milwaukee cordless vacuum that’s the same style as the new Ridgid and I found the suction on that to be terrible. Just want to know if buying the new one is worth it

    I have the older style (the first one you showed). It was a complete waste of $. The motor is fine. It blows a lot of air but the compartment doesn’t seal so I get very little suction. It will pick up fine dust but anything with more mass just stays put. I just ordered the NXT one. I’m really hoping it’s much better

      All the time I’ve been using ridgid vacuums I don’t use both, if there’s a bag in there i take the filter off. Try taking the filter off and being careful with what you’re vacuuming up, I use my battery vac for lite jobs primarily.

  • @ScottTooley
    @ScottTooley 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I won't use a shop vac without a bag, so it's nice that this one accepts the bags. For my purposes, because the bag will catch so much, I would probably save some money with a the lower end filter if/when it comes time to replace the slightly more expensive blue one. Thankfully since you posted this, the came out with the Pro Gear attachment.

    We just put an onyx surround in around a new tub. We have a bit of a gap in two spots near the front of the tub. How big a gap should we be comfortable putting color match caulk in? It's where the panel meets the top of the tub. Any other options trim wise to finish it off nicely? Waiting on 90 degree trim for the two back corners and thinking about putting a 2" x 3/8 inch flat trim at the top where it meets the ceiling. Also planning on using 3/8 in edge cap on the sides where the onyx meets the drywall to finish it off. Any thoughts appreciated!

    • @Swantek-Enterprises
      @Swantek-Enterprises ปีที่แล้ว

      The panels should have been dry fit and trimmed accordingly before gluing them in place. You can order the inside corner pieces to cover them up and color match caulk both sides to create the seal, the top can either be the edge trim or crown molding. I wouldn’t use the color match caulking to fill a gap any larger than 1/4” personally.

    Lol And while it is useful to know this can be done in a pinch,... It is not the quickest, easiest or most effective and ONLY works with those kinds of bands. Meanwhile a knife or flooring knife works on all but metal banding. And snips work on all but the most pernicious of fiber cloth bandings. And either method is quicker than what is portrayed in the video.
