2017.10.28 The Living Fountain

Combine a Living Statue with water and you get the Living Fountain performed to music. The Living Fountain is performed on the new Titania's Bowers stage. It's the first time I have seen an act like this. She touches the water and water begins to flow from her fingertips and head. I am impressed that she is performing on this really cold day.

The Clydesdales are amazingly beautiful horses. They are so gentle and intelligent. It is amazing how they stand there calmly waiting to be hitched to the wagon. Each one knows their roll to play.
Why do the horses nod their heads?
I wonder what the cost of the "rigging" for each Clydesdale??? It looks expensive!...and beautiful!

My Grandfather worked for Budwiser as a route driver. My late sister got to see them when she was small. I'm thinking of a road trip to the farm in MO.

It's a beautiful display, but also sad. It's obvious that these majestic, gentle giants are very uncomfortable with the metal bites in their mouths. For me, this is animal cruelty for public display. Why can't the bites be made of a more gentle material like strong leather to make it more tolerable for these beautiful creatures. I love seeing the Clydesdales, but cry everytime I see them tossing their heads and trying to get this hard material out of their mouths! Come on Budweiser please do something about this.
No other material can be used, leather or rubber would chew it, it has to be made of metal, to be able to control them, imagine how I would control 8 of these runaway horses, they are also draft horses, they are trained to this, if we suffered for all of them animals, you would not eat a chicken, a beef, a pig.
It is a job, just as I have a job, which has many many unpleasant things. That is life.

The horses are spectacular. The handlers are wonderful and I can tell the bond between horse and handler. As a long time horse owner I appreciate the time and training it takes to put on the wonderful shows you do. Thank you for the respectful tribute to America and the freedom we enjoy.

Do you mean the one in purple, standing well behaved with her family, older sister, mom and dad right behind her? I seriously doubt those parents would be letting her stand like that if she was ill mannered at all. And ribbing on modern "parenting"... I'd agree with you if they were running amok or screaming or trying to touch the horses after being told no. But a child standing with her family, guarded by an older sibling with parents right there... that's a family that has had talks on how to behave in public. That was common practice in the 90s, and I have little doubt it's been so forever. It's hardly "modern" to let a behaving child practice responsibility. If you're talking about the 8ish year old boy in the background being led by the elbow, that's a different story... but he's not a toddler.

@@galescott8433 Tell me it wasn;t a Clydesdale, please???? They are NOT aggresive horses, being real "Cold Bloods", but they are accidentently MASSIVE, and they can't help their size........but never known for aggresion, despite their weight.......Still passive, when all evidence is known.....

Why so many horses? I pretty sure two can pull that wagon with no sweat .I assume it’s for show. It would not look too interesting with only two horses.maybe I answered my own question.

Their explanation is that the wagon weighs 6000 pounds. The horses weigh 2000 pounds and can pull twice their weight. However if you watch the way they have to maneuver the wagon like it would have been done in order to deliver beer and allow for traffic back in the day, then you can see the need for that many horses.
@@oregongirl1064 It is NOT just for show. This is how things were actually delivered to places before the time of cars, trucks, trains and planes. They needed eight horses to pull and maneuver the wagons. Two horses could not maneuver a huge, heavy wagon load. Watch their show sometime.... the drivers show how the horses move the wagon, backing it up to a loading dock.... no way could two horses do that with a full wagon load.
Impressive. Easier to pull with more. And turn the wagon. They look so beautiful with eight of them all in line i like it!! There was a man that pulled a wagon with forty eight draft horses. Yes just read about it. Four across.what a sight really true. And still do it with that many

They are born that way idiot. They and some other draft horses are born with short tails. They take the hair and put it in a bun for the show. Why don't you look things up before you type.!! You city people need to leave the horse commentary to people who know what they are talking about. And we'll leave the commentary about riots, theft, rapes, and murders to you.
