Funny how the "if you don't like the country, move out" argument dies as soon as you think you could just take it with you! I guess Eugene should just take some of springfield because the river separating them is in the wrong spot. I find that boundary proposal that puts Ashland in Idaho especially amusing. If any state lines are going to be moved, combine the Dakotas. Definitely don't need 2 of them.

The rest of Oregon would have to agree also. Imagine the reasons they might not want to do that, not the least of which would include the largest prison in the state, and a grundle of state owned land. Don't think it'd be wise to bet the farm on it just yet. And do these folks have no imagination?.... 'Greater Idaho' is the best they can do???

They better keep Bend out of it. All the Cali fruitcakes that have invaded in the last couple decades would completely negate the political reasons for making this change. It won't happen anyway

It would cost Idaho billions of dollars to take on the sale and/or transfer of all the assets (land and buildings) and take on debt related to eastern Oregon. Everyone’s for it until it costs them money.

What industries does eastern Oregon have that would be of benefit to Idaho? Increasing the size of Idaho will only increase the cost of living for these Oregon pastorals joining Idaho and Idahoans and nothing guarantees anyone moving to Idaho that the legislators of Idaho will do good by their electorate rather, will do good for the powers that be and their own pockets. The highlight here is the poor or lack of critical thinking by those in favor of establishing boundaries wherever they choose without considering the repercussions of implementing simple solutions to complex problems.

Oregon would lose the Snake River and half of their Columbia River frontage and bargaining power, they'd be pretty dumb to agree to that willingly.

I'd love to get a legal government in Oregon. As long as there is a corrupt as death government in every respect stealing money from Oregonians and using it against the people of the real state of Oregon, ther is no way the people of Eastern Oregon are going to get equal representation in the communist government of The communist blue slumholes along the coast.

@movingtobendoregon Thanks for the video. Has anyone run thru how many listings have expired or listings that are pulled off the market? We were following 3 properties listed for months that expired and were overpriced in our analysis.

Burns will be a boom town if it were to succeed

moving over state line (former Oregon to Idaho) 1: car licensing, tabs, drivers license and 4% tax on the value of your car will have to be paid, insurance adjustments need to be made.. 2: Property tax, Insurance etc need to be adjusted. Some insurance is only for oregon so you will need to find new insurance. 3: anyone with a business will have to have property value appraised for Idaho Tax. and any Licenses will need to be changed (involves passing test ..again). Teachers need to get an Idaho license.. Real estate, hair cutting, restaurants have different licensing requirements. This is going to be very expensive for all involved. There will need to be programs to defer or eliminate some of this expense of many will go out of business in this bad economy.. maybe tax credits for everyone transitioning.

will greater idaho also have the 4% sales tax..? This will also give idaho more delegates, and oregon less delegates..

Bottom line is that "democracy " ='s 51% of people ruling 49%. We live in a democratic republic... not a democracy.

Bend and the adjacent area has been a mecca for retirees from California, and brought their philosophy and politics along with them.

The thing about this is neither of the parties want to change house or senate seats.

The lefty liberal rot seeped north from California over the years until it infected the entire West coast. Once the generation of Old Hippies and Marksist useful idiots has faded away, perhaps a return to Common sense and conservative values will resolve the issue. The tyranny of the leftist-run big cities is a problem across the entire country.

The issue ultimately comes down to representation: Residents of many of the rural areas in Eastern Oregon/Washington are not represented by the states, which are predominantly controlled major urban centers in Seattle, Portland, Eugene, Olympia, etc. It's not even about team red/blue divide, per se, either... It's more about almost all policies intended to solve urban issues being applied to rural residents (as the majority of WA/OR voters live urban/suburban regions). Demanding all these rural residents to simply move to Idaho is also absurd and a bit delusional... If the vast majority of a population in Western Texas is not being served by their state government, would it not be the democratic thing to do to allow them to join with, for example, a more aligned New Mexico government?

it's a terrible idea. Split OR and WA N/S not E/W. The leftoids will have only 2 senators instead of 4. The greater Idaho movement is actually screwing the country over.

I live in eastern Washington state and the communists selected to run the state are talking about taxing unrealized capital gains. That's basically theft. I'd love to see greater Idaho so I could escape the commie power grab taking place here. No doubt the geniuses running Oregon and California will follow suit.

Changing state lines would require approval of the Oregon legislature and Trump can't do anything about that.

Maybe...this movement can include the entire western half of California (including Orange County). Imagine...one state that reaches from the Mexican boarder, all the way to Canada. ;)

Cowlitz ,Lewis , eastern washington join Idaho. Clark county can join portland. Nw washington can become their own state.
