In conversations with my peers, I often have marked the distinction between the arborist and tree guy mindset. It's really cool to see that others think the same, especially one at the level of Brick. They're kinda two sides of the same coin in me, depending on the work I'm involved with at any given time.
Good stuff! Paul-
Another great one. Todd is local to me. Humble and full of knowledge. A true gentleman of the industry. I can only hope to make it on the podcast someday for the same reasons.
Thanks! Todd is a special dude man. Love to hear,! Thanks for checking in
Not an arborist but a 55 year-old tree worker 120 hours in, working 2-3 days a month. I love it and watching you and your guests gives me strength to pursue my goals in the tree world. Subbed and God bless us all.
That is awesome!really appreciate you weighing in. Keep on it
Hard to believe ! It’s going so fast! Appreciate you tuning in!!
3 episodes in!
Hey thanks for watching! We appreciate the support

I just turned 40 this year, bought my company from an arborist who is now in his 70's and our relationship is really special. If you ever want to interview us I think we have a cool story.
Hey thanks for checking us out! We hope you are enjoying the podcast. I'll make sure to relay your message to our CEO.
When you get a knuckle boom tree mech you know you made it.
Be there, still have nightmares. Always safe but it is intense work. Alot of respect and stay safe.
Nice work
Thanks!
All so good at it. But all of ya wana help others in thats it' thanx
Nice video!
Thanks!
Man watching this makes me wanna go get a pork roll
Just a slice of pork roll? Or pork roll egg and cheese
Ha ha the later.
Must be that regional dialect🤣🤣
@@treeawareness2153 I was hoping Mark reads that I like messing with him.
Enjoyed the video. Especially the talk on climbing later in life. There is a thrill in climbing....it goes along with the dangers involved in climbing. I go slow (have to because I'm an old fool). I concentrate (try not to get distracted...which is easy to do). I follow my rules to the "T" (constant checking and evaluating me & the tree; proper tie-ins; proper saw control; awareness of surroundings, etc.). Getting older means losing strength, losing balance, (losing hair, of course), etc. I'm 78 and still love to climb and work a tree. Can't do it every day.....need recovery time, but I get'r done. Nice talk.
Thanks for watching!
Akways a scott fan. Cos kiwi n was great to me'
I've been climbing for 21 years. I've been on the outside fringe of the community all these years. I totally appreciate ya'll sharing these conversations. Marks leadership style is military grade.
@@dan-dan-da-treeman Roger that.. appreciate you checking us out !(paul)
All karens should be arrested for their frivolous police calls
Good to see Mark still at it. I only watched some of it and maybe finish it later. I am well over 75 years old and still do every function as the arborist I have been for 54 years, also CA since beginning in '92, although my 95' tracked spider, a Ronin and Wraptor make life easier and I feel no guilt about it. My 2 man op with me doing all the aerial work also plants many trees and that along with mentioned pruning and tree care, gives a huge tree and job appreciation for work outside of constant takedowns. Mark's forum Treebuzz has also taught and inspired many many would be and established arborists...worth mentioning. I used to be Treevet on it. Cheers.
@@treemands that is awesome! So glad the craft still brings you joy!! I’m 59 (40 years in) I tip my cap to you!! (This is Paul) stay safe out there brother!!
Thank you! These are things that need to be said.
Hey thank you for watching the podcast! We really appreciate the feedback!
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought the microphone was a saddle hanging on the wall.
Holy crap you saying introducing the VT !!!!!!! Wow memories
Really enjoyed this conversation gentleman! Mark Chisholm is a real class act and credit to the industry!

Aspiring arborist here. I like what I'm hearing so far, especially about the importance of including women, as well as dropping the macho stuff. Looking forward to the next one!
@@justinwest4923 Appreciate the thoughts Justin!
Great work guys, keep it up please.I personally would love for you to get to the point where they are once a week.Your conversations motivate and inspire me and others I'm sure.

Yooooooo! Brooooooo! Let’s collab!!!!! Your channel should have way more likes and subs! Let’s blow up together!
Most areas that have trees have local companies who work on them. If you apply yourself and learn it is a viable trade
I've climbed trees almost all my life and yall are making money from it ? Where do I join 👀 🤔?
I thought the second one was a potato
wow! What are you going to name it?
Stretch
Is that Tennessee Cedar? I've used some before to make a ring box. Beautiful wood, and that tree looks like it might be based on the pink color!
It’s in Jersey it is not the cedar w the beautiful red center. Which is eastern red cedar…..
Hahaha actually it IS EASTERN RED CEDAR. Sorry I thought this was a different job!!! It is the wood of which you speak!!
@@treeawareness2153 haha I guess thats what happens when you're busy!😆 thanks!

So girth hitch = beer knot. Noted.
*clove hitch
@@huntobongoboy699 Clove hitch is rotated. He tied a girth in a video with an open tail. I'd just never seen it called a beer knot before but there are a LOT of "dialect" differences across the world.
@@mattfleming86 as far as I know taking two loops around something is a midline clove hitch.
@@mattfleming86 but yeah I've never heard of it being called a beer knot. It's what we use to tie on water bottles and I guess you could tie on a beer as well xD
You guys are way over thinking it! Hahaha it’s like common and Latin names for trees… Tupelo, black Gum, = Nyssa sylvatica…. Yes region makes a difference…. Cheers
awesome! thanks Derrick 😂
Paul, Happy Thanksgiving to you, Rayna and the family and your wonderful, talented team. ❤️
Great points. Doesn’t matter what part of the world you’re in. 👍 Topping is very poor tree pruning.
