Hi Heather. Just another guy from the Aptera fan club. Steve is great and I hope you two will do a follow-up or two as this lawsuit progresses. Your expert opinions on the law really help cut through the loads of speculative bulls**t showing up on the Interweb. One suggestion though. You should get out more. You look like you could use some sun.
I found you from Aptera Club. Thanks for the insight.
Another AOC subscriber here, also in software. Thanks for the great information you gave us on Steve’s channel. This video was fun, i’m looking forward to exploring more of your content.
You are going to see a lot of us Aptera fans visiting your page, because your discussion on Steve's AOC channel was so well done. Kudos. I happen to also be in the SF Bay area, and years in the tech industry. So it was amusing to have seen the Waymo video and news stories go viral. Having worked on video analytics software, ADAS, and tech troubleshooting, it makes sense that Waymo rearranged their parking lot. Because with bad press, you want to take as many "easy" steps to remedy the problem, on top of reworking code. Plus features like close proximity honking are still going to be valuable outside of this parking lot. I don't know about the communications between different Waymo vehicles, but if they communicated and "recognized" one another, it seems like it would be a relatively easy bug-fix to simply make them honk-free when nearby other Waymo vehicles. I bet that Cruise (who also had SF driverless cars) wished that their problems were so simple to mitigate. Thanks Heather, and Subscribed.
Thanks! Waymo seems to be winning hearts and minds slowly, and it was good that they responded to the issue--however they actually did it. The main thing, I think, was being responsive.
Suggestion for your TH-cam channel. Get rid of the cartoon, people need to make a connection with the real person. Also, came over from watching the Aptera Owner Club channel. Thanks for your expertise and insight into what many of us are very passionate about. (/Aptera = Freedom ).
Thanks. You may like some of my open source videos in that case!
Thanks for your take on the Aptera lawsuit and I liked your video here.
Another fan coming from Aptera Owners Club. Personally, I found the volume to be quite comfortable, I like the fireside-chat atmosphere. Being an SF resident, somehow I missed this news item.
Reportedly, the honking continued a few weeks after the fix... It seems they only geo fenced the honking so it couldn't happen inside their lot but left it on the road coming into the lot. So once they inevitably stacked up on the road they still honked. 😂 th-cam.com/video/FZn-QF4A5_4/w-d-xo.html
Also came from Aptera Owners Club. I enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work.
I came here from Aptera Owners Club. Great video! The audio level is really low and the video is difficult to hear.

One day this video will explode! People will search for this topic mark my words.

BSV is Like unadulterated MILK while BTC is like Milk with pasteurization and hormones.
That is interesting!
Yes its healthy for families and great for commerce.
I think Satoshi was made by Bitcoin.
Ourobouos!
Intellectual property is invented by Craig not the opposite.
If it wasnt created by the architects of society ( either top banking top intel or top military ) it was very much welcomed and encouraged by them. Also btc etc is was a great way to manifest the infrastructure ( miners ) and technology needed to one day run a proper official state backed crypto, which is basically a game changer for the managment of society and managment of everything.
That's an excellent plan to get a lot of free development work!

How come that dogecoin being clearly a memecoin is listed in all exchanges and supported by most wallets?. One might like or dislike Dr Wright but is undeniable that BSV is a real project with a clear vision and yet is its cancelled in all exchanges and all Wallets. There's centainly something fishy going. Back in 2023 Mr Wright made quite some defamatory claims against Mr Cz and months later , suprise surprise! Mr Cz got sentenced. I think there's way more going on in these case. Only time will tell.

Wrong
Keep looking In rabbit holes.... Craig Wright is not in any of them.... He's busy scaling bitcoin.
I delved deep into this years ago.Hal Finney is my guess.
i dont think that holds up either
Last time Satoshi was heard from was in 2011. Hal Finney was diagnose with ALCS in 2011. He then past away in 2014. He currently is waiting to be revived from cryogenics.
Wonder how much he will be worth then?
Satoshi Nakamoto understand that for Bitcoin to be a viable system owned by nobody, just its users, anonymity was extremely important in order for the system not to be tied to a certain individuals identity. That is why I think those who want the claim to fame are the least likely to be Satoshi.
I agree!
Then why is he holding all those Billions of BTC.

I just would like to say thank you. This video helps me clear up so many confusions regarding software licensing.
Thank you so much!
37:35 isn't AGPL OSI approved ? I'm not sure why it's listed as a source available license here.
It is OSI approved.
33:00 seek patents means claiming patents? How is good to offer licenses that promise that you won't claim patents , if you plan to do so ? - thanks for the video :)
Seeking patents means "patent prosecution" or having a program of writing patents. Most companies that have a patent process are constantly writing and applying for patents. Patents usually don't issue for two years or more. Therefore, most patents on inventions embodied in software under current development have not issued yet, and the company is still in the process of seeking them. Open source doesn't mean you won't seek patents, it just usually makes them not worthwhile to prosecute.
Thank you so much! The video was easy to understand and very informative. Keep it up!
You’re totally missing out on India. Talent✅ political stability ✅ cheap ✅ English speaking and tech savvy ✅✅ I find it amusing how sometimes Americans brutally underestimate Indian potential in taking on the Silicon Valley. I suppose time will tell but as someone who lives in India and has seen technology companies globally I have no doubt that India is the only logical true successor (in scale) to SV
You are correct about the talent and political stability. (Talent especially, and a young workforce as well!) But for India, I'm afraid, the legal environment and capital markets are still a big problem. India's legal system still makes it difficult for international investors to participate. This is, doubtless, one reason Sequoia recently created a separate investment arm for India. www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/startup/sequoia-india-rebrands-to-peak-xv-partners-will-operate-independently-10752451.html China has similar (but even more) issues. It's possible that India can develop a startup tech sector with only its own domestic capital, but that is a needless hurdle. Having an international investor base not only provides more capital, it makes it easier to weather national economic fluctuations -- like the recent weakness of the Rupee. I am cheering for India, though. In our VC fund we have actually invested in quite a few startups with Indian founders and dev teams. But deals involving India take much longer to execute; there is still just too much red tape. That's a self-inflicted problem, and I think legal reform is badly needed, including at both the national and state level. But I have been excited to see the local startup activity, I hope we will continue to see less movement of Indian entrepreneurs to the US, UK and Canada, and more staying to develop the local economy.
I think it's important to note that cypto can be used for money transfer by criminal organizations. But it is so transparent, that it can lead to them being caught. IT has also been used for significantly less criminal transfers than our current banking infrastructure and fiat currency system. The fine paid by Binance is also about 1/4 of the fine paid by a bank (JP Morgan) for a previous court case around 2008.. So not record breaking. Perhaps in a perfect world, the current banking system will simply implement some of the cryptography for processing transactions. making them cheap and fast. while also lowering overall fees. Win for the customer and a more secure network for us all.
You are right about the fine. The sources I read were misleading, sorry. Another source said it was the biggest "crypto" fine ever paid, though I don't know exactly what definition they were using there. Also, it is interesting that crypto transactions are more traceable than most people realize. My former colleague Lisa Monaco was involved in this action recovering ransomeware payments: www.reuters.com/business/energy/us-announce-recovery-millions-colonial-pipeline-ransomware-attack-2021-06-07/.

AI still needs people to give it new ideas and review the code it writes. You can't trust unreadable code, too, so all code would have to be generated in a human-readable form. No matter where the technology goes, if you're developing for people, people will need to be involved.
