Entropic Echo Modular Ambient
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 มี.ค. 2012
My name is Patrick den Drijver, a long time musician who started making making ambient music with modular synths in 2021.
I'm attracted to the surreal, dreamscapes and slow but steady evolving grooves and drones. All my work is done with hardware synths only.

Rise Modular and Soma Terra
With todays tragic win for fascism and bigotry in mind I made this track. Let us hope that better times lie ahead for everyone.

Sometimes, you just need to do some weird and experimental stuff!
Atom Age Adventures VI - Report from a Dead Planet. A retro scifi Dark Ambient track.
มุมมอง 1792 หลายเดือนก่อน
Another one in the Atom Age Adventures. This time our imaginary spacement heroes land on a planet that seems to have been deserted for thousands of years... Soma Terra, Typhoon, Mimeophon and Lubadh doing a lot of heavy lifting for this track.
Beauty - An Industrial groove in the Atom Age Adventures retro sci-fi series
มุมมอง 912 หลายเดือนก่อน
Another in the Atom Age Adventure series: Beauty What better way to make a song about beauty than 7 detuned oscillators, industrial percussion and a drunk Instruo Arbhar on melody duty.
Digital Seas - Glitchy ambient using Mimeophon as Databender
มุมมอง 713 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was a fun experiment creating glitchy effects in an ambient vibe using mimeophon and Arbhar. No Databender needed. :)
The Poet - Another in the Atom Age Adventures synth series! Again with the Soma Terra.
มุมมอง 893 หลายเดือนก่อน
Original story: Twenty-Four Sixty-Two. A story about a nonproductive member of a dystopian society, who is receiving a death sentence for .. being a poet. Also, I suck at making videos. Sorry for the misfocus. :)
This ship isn't from earth - Another retro scifi track with Soma Terra
มุมมอง 2.1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
I think the 50s radio show thing is going to be a series, it's pretty fun to make music around. This is a very simple patch, mostly reliant on playing the Terra, with some subtle effects from Mimeophon, and of course a sampler.
Shimmer - with Soma Terra and a miniature modular synth
มุมมอง 3443 หลายเดือนก่อน
I put away the big rack, minimalised my synth to a 104hp skiff. The Bitbox Micro did a lot of the heavy lifiting, but Mimeophon and the viol ruina and Ikarie filters add some colour as well. The Soma Terra is amazing, a real instrument in its own right. Enjoy!
First Contact - Eurorack jam with Soma Terra

I had so much fun with this, playing Soma Terra through different modules using a matrix mixer.
Crags - modular ambient with Soma Terra

Sold the Lyra (with pain) to justify getting a Terra. Worth it? I think it is! What a wonderfully organic instrument!
First time noodling around with the Soma Terra. Loving it.
มุมมอง 4734 หลายเดือนก่อน
10 minutes after opening the box, holy shit what an amazing instrument. And so much to explore! A worthy replacement of the Lyra I had to sell for this (with pain in my heart) It's meant to be played with two hands, but I had to hold the camera somehow. :)

Enjoy this ravy industrial track, inspired by a 50's sci-fi radio show, episode "The Brooklyn Brain". Cheers!

Donald Trump Wins Presidential Election, Promises Unity and Economic Renewal In a historic victory, Donald Trump has won the presidential election, securing another term in office and committing to lead the nation forward with a focus on unity, economic growth, and resilience. In his acceptance speech, Trump struck a tone of optimism and inclusiveness, vowing to be a president for all Americans, regardless of background or political affiliation. "This victory belongs to every American who believes in the strength and spirit of our nation," Trump said. "Together, we’ll work to rebuild, revitalize, and bring prosperity to every corner of this great land." Trump’s campaign centered on economic revival and job growth, pledging to support American businesses, enhance infrastructure, and continue creating job opportunities. His renewed administration aims to prioritize policies that support working families, small businesses, and revitalized communities, with a focus on sustainable growth and American innovation. In a call for unity, Trump emphasized healing the divisions that have defined recent years, promising to listen to voices from all sides and foster a spirit of cooperation. "It’s time to come together, to put aside our differences, and to build a future of hope and opportunity for every American," he stated. Supporters across the nation celebrated the victory, expressing optimism for the future. Many are hopeful that this new term will bring renewed focus on growth, stability, and an inclusive vision that benefits every American. As Trump prepares for his next term, Americans from all backgrounds look forward to a promising future, filled with the potential for progress and a commitment to working together toward a united and prosperous country.
A sad day indeed. But remember, music is powerful. And we can overcome these dark times with perseverance and determination.
Indeed it is. My own country is also run by right wing extremists now, though fortunately they are almost comically incompetent. I hope the pendulum swings the other way soon enough.
@@EntropicEchoi hope the tide one day soon turns for you too. A sad day. In the UK the "alternative" doesn't know how to change the narrative from hate. It just perpetuates whether it means to or not Beautiful piece.
@@LordoftheBadgers Thanks a lot! The UK isn't doing too well either I've heared. Here's to hoping the 30s will be better again.
Nice👍
Thanks! :D
Love the irregular rhythm! It really creates a drive for the entire track. What did you use to create it? Sounds semi-random.
Thanks! Really happy with it too. Steppy is giving a regular pattern in a 6/8th rhythm, but PAM is giving out delayed triggers on a 4/4 basis.
Amazing atmosphere and sounds! Not sure if background noise is intended though.
Thanks! And nope, I screwed up the gainstaging. :')
Nice glitchy effects! Cool!
Thanks! Using it in a properly thought-out patch is really fun!
Nice
Thanks! Glad you liked this weird piece of music! :D Have a great day!
Exactly same bubbles :D BTW, really nice channel you have here!
Thanks man, you too! :D using photographs as inspiration is pretty cool!
Lost in Space. The warning episode when Will Robinson confronts an alien and the robot is conveniently immobilized. Judy runs and sprains her ankle in behalf of the evil monster. 😳
Haha, precisely!
Does any anybody recall a episode where we were introduced to a ... officer bollox ? 😂
Sounds like a steam engine hooked up to a carnival table ride that’s going out of control. “ SAVE YOUR KIDS before it’s too late “!
Haha, thanks! :D
Great storytelling, love the way you used the samples!
The Soma Terra? Wow! Nice! There’s something pleasing about these sci fy sounding synths and effects especially in a minor scale.
We think alike! ^^ Thanks. The Terra is absolutely magnificent and a joy to play!
@@EntropicEcho yes, Saturday mornings are a good time to explore. So calming
Beautiful boss.. your a truly creative soul out there in the cosmos. 👍🐝
Aw, thanks so much for your kind words! <3
Great as usual! Do the radio samples come from Mimeophon?
Thanks! I'm using mimeophon as a very long delay for the Terra. For samples I use the Bitbox Micro, which is an amazing module if you use a lot of samples.
Really nice and right up my alley!
Thanks! I'm happy you enjoyed it! ^^
Nice. Just what I needed while finishing off my work before going home for the weekend.
Thanks man! Have a great weekend!
Vet! Dik geluid.
Wonderful work as per usual. I love the theming around old radio plays. Keep it up!
Thanks! :D Glat you like it! I have lots more material to work with, so there will most definitely be more! ^^
You don't suck at making videos! This is fantastic, and I hope you keep it up.
Hey thanks man! That means a lot. :) I most definitely will keep this up indeed! :D
@@EntropicEcho What's your source for the radio samples, if you don't mind me asking? There's something so otherworldly about media like that, created so long ago.
@@PhantomWatson Yeah, absolutely! And because they are recorded with very little low end they're immediately useful in a mix. Archive.org has a LOT of radio shows/music/news broadcasts from all decades. It takes some digging but you can find a lot of great stuff there.
Beautiful work 👏
Thanks a lot! I'm happy you enjoyed it!
Nice work
Many thanks! <3
I get more 80's sci-fi vibes from this than 50's sci-fi. Might try to escape from New York to this, idk
Hah, I can imagine. I'm not so mad (yet) to make my music with scientific test equipment and primitive electronics from the 50s like some artists do. :D
Such a cool idea. Hope it turns into a regular series! I think it would be a cool detail of simple patch notes would appear in the picture under "featuring", but I understand that that is probably too much work for a video like this. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man! I don't know much about video editing, but I'll try if I can do that for a next track! Might be fun to figure out. :)
What are your initial connections from the Lyra? I’ve been wanting to try this with mine.
To be honest, I have no idea what exactly I did here, haha! I often listen to old patches I made and think: "what the hell, did I make this? How??!!!" Rings is obvious of course, I think I created the low drone with plaits and let the Lyra do the melodic parts by very carefully fiddling with the oscillators.
@@EntropicEcho it’s great, I can’t figure out how to connect the lyra 8 into my modular setup 😂
@@Tim.Traveler aah, I use a Mutable Instrument Ears for that! Though I'm soon upgrading to an Injektr module! Befaco also has a great input module that can also be used to plug in XLR, and Doepfer surely has an input module as well.
Wow that's awesome! I'm just learning to make rhythmic stuff with my Terra. Your performance is great!
Aw, thanks man! I hope you're having fun with yours! Also fun to try: a trigger sequencer to trigger envelopes over the Terra. If you use a matrix mixer you can keep the clean signal underneath it!
I love this
Thanks man! <3
this is sounding nice. I'm a sucker for that Lyra sound
Thanks a lot! I love it too. I sold it recently though (with pain in my heart), but had to justify getting the Soma Terra somehow. :)
It's fantastic and really inspiring! Love it.
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it! :D
This sent me into a trance state i haven't felt since i started listening to electronic music... please keep up the amazing work
Cool, thanks man! Really glad you enjoyed it! I'll definitely be keeping busy making more. :D
Are those Necromunda Ash Waste Nomads :D
Absolutely not! How dare you call me a nerd! Damnit, yes they are. XD.
nice one
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it! :D
sexy
Beautiful arranged - got me fade away.
Thanks so much, glad to hear you enjoyed it! :D
Great one! 🖤
Hey dankjewel! Leuk je hier te zien. :D
Awsomely dark and industrial. Fantastic to hear this type of music done in hardware synths, too. Bravo. Subbed
Hey thanks mate! :D Glad to hear you like it! Do you make music as well?
Lekker nummertje👌🏻
Sweet!
😮😮😮👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤩🤩
Thanks mate! :D
Slick jam man! Reminds me of some space rock stuff. Zombi and voyager 3. Real inspiring stuff. Right up my alley.
Nice! Glad you enjoyed it!
cool arp sequence in here. like the pads too.
Thanks! :D
beautiful ambience. i like the visual art too
Thanks mate! :D Glad you like it! Im having a listen on your channel at the moment, great stuff!
Lovely work on this Patrick !
Thanks mate! :D Glad you like it!
I have been looking at Plaits for years now. Always meant to get one but just haven't managed yet. Good to see and hear the Moogs involved in this video which is quite industrial. Nice one.
Thanks! I recently got a second plaits as well,... and I think I want another....
It may be a test but sounding good. Some nice modules in that rig. Look forward to more especially as I spy a Moog in there even if not used at this point.
Thanks a lot! Yeah the subh is great! Love the double triple VCO's and the filter! It takes up so much space though...
Awesome tones & textures... beautiful rig Pstrick !
Thanks a lot! Today my second Plaits came in. There's always so many things I want to use it for within one patch.
Prachtig ! In welke taal wordt er gezongen?
Dankje! Roma. :)
What kind of gloves is the fencer without the jacket wearing? Are those just hourglass gauntlets?
They're Infinity Gloves. :D
Looking good! Making progress! Need a few pointers? (In PM or F2F).
