Everyone kicking private landlords these days.Taking tax relief off mortgages,and tax concessions, allowances, and more red tape means 1/4 million landlord properties sold up. This pushed rents up. Government help to landlords like in America where the tax is minimal plus more mortgage interest allowance would keep landlords in the market increasing supply and reducing competition for houses as more rentals on the market. You only have to talk to landlords to hear all the negative changes to their business model. The abolition of section 21 will mean more landlords will sell up. You should have the right to get your property back without the decision of a judge. Over 9 million people in the private rental sector. The uk needs to keep them invested in rentals not selling up as they are doing now. They are being forced to accept pets now which will also deplete housing stock to rent. I hear this all the time from Tenants "The Landlords selling up I need to find another rental" Personally I don't blame them it is not as profitable as it was. Some stock pay 7 1/2 % dividend with no work maintenance or repair bills or risks of rent default or your property getting wrecked.. I know which I would buy if I had spare money. I know of many landlords who do a decent job and don't hike rents for years. Some are terrible but I believe these are a small percentage of Landlords . Most rent decent houses . Just brows the available stock on right move. They are decent rental properties.
