Boltyn Armory Deck Unboxing | Flesh and Blood
Thank you for watching! I’ve been excited for this Armory deck ever since it was announced so I could add some new cards to my Raydn Boltyn deck in Classic Constructed. I wanted to share the first look unboxing and give some thoughts on the deck. I think LSS did a great job with this as an introductory product!

    Hey man, just to ask if you will post more about Uzuri decks and tips. Your videos are quite good to watch and I've learned a lot when I was looking Uzuri guides on YT.

      Hey-thank you for the interest. I moved this summer and haven’t made it back out to armories yet, which is why I’ve had such a gap in videos. Once I’m back into the swing of things I’ll start making videos again.

    I have a question for you: if you're on a budget, let's imagine we have all the equipment, but we lack for cards like codex and CNC, what would you replace those cards?

    • @BlackwellTCG
      @BlackwellTCG 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey--for Codex of Frailty you can replace it with Codex of Bloodrot to have a similar disruptive effect to your opponent. However, it won't be nearly as strong or involve the same play patterns as Codex of Frailty, so keep that in mind. For C&C, I'd replace it with red Humble--there's enough heroes that rely on their hero ability that Humble has a relevant disruptive effect, though it will vary a lot based on the matchup.

    I don't understand. How can you respond with a defense reaction during the attack reaction step? Also I thought nobody gets priority while an effect is being resolved.

    • @BlackwellTCG
      @BlackwellTCG 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When a player plays a reaction, the other player gets priority to play a reaction of their own before the reaction "resolves" and is added to the combat chain. This is why you can respond to a defense reaction with Flick Knives, and why your opponent can respond to an Uzuri activation before the card you're switching in is revealed. You basically get two windows of priority when an opponent plays a reaction: after they play it but before it resolves, and then again after it resolves. I misspoke if I said something about playing a defense reaction during the attack reaction step.

    Thank you for the tech, I'm trying to learn Uzuri. I'm curious about the contract cards plunder the poor and annihilate. Are they worth it? They look to me very underwhelming. Wouldn't be better more go agains like hurl or ravenous rabble, or more stealth cards like Red infect or infiltrate, or more buffs like nimblism or pummel?

    • @BlackwellTCG
      @BlackwellTCG 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for the question! My reason for not running those cards lies in my main theses about Uzuri, which are that 1) Uzuri is best when playing 1-3 card hands, due to the lack of natural go again in assassin, and 2) Uzuri is benefited by playing for a long game, because the disruptive power of the daggers and attack reactions gets strong the lower on life your opponent is. Both of these two points led toward me wanting to minimize 2-blocks, so you can prioritize blocking down to whatever the most efficient 1-3 card hand you have is. Additionally, I feel like Rabble and Hurl are attempting to compete on the same axis as other classes (such as Ninja) but do so less efficiently. Nimblism and Pummel both require specific kinds of draws to utilize well, and Assassin as a class can already have a problem with brick hands, so I didn't want to increase the possibility of bricks by adding them. Threatening to go wide is still good of course, but I think Looking for a Scrap presents a much more efficient rate if you're in a build running enough blue stealth attacks. Plunder the Poor and Annihilate the Armed, by contrast, both block for three and play well off of smaller hands. They also help for the long game by threatening to banish cards and generate silver to bring back your equipment. Of the rare/common contract cards available, I chose them because they are the most likely to trigger their contracts into the most heroes. You could definitely make an argument that it would be better to play red infect over one of them though! All that being said--a lot of Uzuri players run Rabble, Hurl, and/or Nimblism. Those are usually redline builds with a more aggressive game plan than what I go for. I'd recommend trying them out and seeing what fits your playstyle more!

      Thank you for this great reply. This is really useful, I'm looking for videos on how to play Uzuri, tips, the general gameplan, etc. I find Uzuri super fun but also difficult. Btw I've heard a lot about redline vs blueline Uzuri, but what is really the difference? Most decks I've seen run between 11-17 blues, so there isn't much of a difference. Right now I build Uzuri by focusing on her switch effect - which I find the most powerful thing you can do with Uzuri. I'm running like 18 stealth and ~16 switches (incl Leave no witness and surgical, also yellow death touch and sneak attack for budget reasons, no cnc). With the rest of the cards I try to complement the main gameplan - switcharoo - and contract cards don't seem to work well because of go again. But they do block 3 indeed, and are decent as a 1 card hand. Anyway, I'm new to Uzuri, I'm trying to understand the optimal build, how to play, your video was very useful. @@BlackwellTCG

      I can see DnD becoming Standing Order, as that can become a 6 from hand, and can clear an awkward arsenal? I also really really like inertia trap because its a way to clear an arsenal for a properly disruptive codex

    What are your thoughts about the new Already Dead card? How does it fit in this list?

    • @BlackwellTCG
      @BlackwellTCG 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Already Dead is pretty good! I'm still working on tweaking the new deck but for right now I've swapped it in for Censor. The ability is not always going to be relevant, but there's a lot of value in it just being a 2 for 6 that blocks 3 and is a contract card (might make silver, you can shred it/shriek razors it/cut to the chase it)

Someone linked me this video and I like the idea of Amnesia, I've been struggling a lot against Fai and him not being able to recycle Phoenix Flame from graveyard for a few turns might make a change in how that matchup plays. Congrats on the performance by the way!

    Thoughts on Dromai as a hero to only-play? Is she totally unplayable in ninjnas and is it worth putting the time into her or is better to play say Uzuri or maybe the new Levia?

    • @BlackwellTCG
      @BlackwellTCG ปีที่แล้ว

      She'd be a good choice, I exclusively played her for my first like 4-5 months of playing FaB. I wouldn't say she's totally unplayable into ninjas, it's difficult but winnable. She also rewards learning how to navigate certain matchups well. I'd say go with whatever seems the coolest to you! Uzuri is a good choice (I'm probably going to play her at US Nationals, will film a deck tech once I've settled on a list). Levia is really cool as long as you don't mind the extra variance that's built into her cards--you'll probably lose (and win) more often to chance with Levia than other heroes.

    1)Ur sound is very low 2)Have u considered putting in Rob the Rich? There's plenty of 2+ cost cards that everyone plays. 3)Have u considered using a couple of Pay Days? Also, in my experience playing Arakni, between Shreds and Buffs, buffs are better, otherwise u can't do anything with them (as u stated) So I suggest adding Captain's Call! 0cost +2p or go again and works on ALL ur cards, especially C&C or Surgical Ext! I even have some Razor Reflexes in my deck. 4)how many Blues does this deck have?

  • @i_dis2446
    @i_dis2446 ปีที่แล้ว

    quite expensive for a new player I guess. How much would this deck cost today?

    • @BlackwellTCG
      @BlackwellTCG ปีที่แล้ว

      It's an expensive deck, yeah. For a new player, focusing on the core of contract attack actions, rainbow shreds, and defense reactions will give you a solid deck. Blacktek Whisperers is the only "essential" piece of equipment and has dropped to around $50-$60, so you could put together a solid core deck for around $100. Be advised that you're probably going to lose a lot because, regardless of budget, Arakni isn't a very competitive hero right now.

    Loved it, I gonna make my list around yours. But in a budget way. Any tips? (No furnace, no footsteps, no arcanite skullcap, no ghostly touch)

    • @BlackwellTCG
      @BlackwellTCG ปีที่แล้ว

      Flamescale Furnace is pretty important and doesn't have a great replacement--it helps a lot with managing your ash and generating enough resources into any Iyslander or Ice Lexi. Footsteps is the easiest one to cut--just remove the Dunebreaker Cenipai and Spears of Surreality. Some people play snapdragons for legs instead, or you could play Mage Master Boots and Tome of Fyendal. Arcanite Skullcap just blocks for 3 over the course of the game, so replace it with whatever you like--Ironrot Helm will be worse but won't change anything about how the deck functions. You can also play Helio's Mitre to pitch all your reds to on turn one--that way you generate a bunch of Ash and get to just draw back up. Ghostly Touch is only played against Oldhim, and even then it's only mattered in like a quarter to a third of my Oldhim games. You can just play Silken Form.
