Marx windup WWI Doughboy tin tank.
Marx 1940's Doughboy tank . Came in with No Gun Barrel,No sparking mechanism. So I looked at photos. Drew up a cheerio box template. Then a 28 Gauge tin pattern. Modified several times. Never cared much for the original gun on this tank. Too much the length of a Mortar;So I added 1/4" to the muzzle. Used a pin set from a pneumatic hammer to use as a mandrel. Worked perfect. Made the tabs and did not paint the barrel. Used cold gun blueing . Three applications. Wash well with water after as it is an acid base.Lastly dip in baking soda paste to neutralize. The turrent has to come off which means the left side has to be removed. 3 Tabs broke. Odd, Tried the new battery powered spot welder. Worthless. Solder paste is much much better. Had no idea what the sparking mechanism looked like,so started from scratch with basic theoretical physics. Works perfect. Tough part finding lighter flints. Finally mustered up my courage and went into a Smoke shop. The guy was very nice, but as freaky as I imagined. Bongs and doper shit everywhere. Not my world. I needed spring steel to build the walking beam for the walking beam flint arm Old thin kerf band saw bladed are perfect. All back together now. Works well.

NOOOOOO!!! WHY are they DIRECTLY SPRAYING the engine?! It is strictly prohibited on UPS planes as they say doing so can cause serious damage to the engines!
Been a Senior tech for 45 yrs. That's me in the bucket. Ground crew are prohibited from deicing inlets or landing gear. Senior techs are permitted. As We know where to direct the fluid. We only do it under extreme conditions to prevent accumulated cowl or fan ice ingestion of the ice once anti-ice is selected after engine start. We are careful not to spray directly into the core or on any pitot [PT2] sensors . If AMT's are not able to spray, Heat carts are applied. Still not a great idea at extreme low temps as this can cause a fan or compressor blade to lock . Not good on N2. Having worked side by side for 30 yrs, I can tell you that UPS relies heavily on low tech personal to de-ice aircraft. That is why they forbid it. By the way,case drains are installed in the cowl and core section. You should see us doing a compressor wash. 🙂

If you do, run 12 Gauge wire and a 40 amp fuse. The Circuit breaker is fine for troubleshooting but won't hold the current.

I caught it in between two cupped hands, As long as you don't touch the top of the wings and keep them folded up by squeezing at the Thorax ,you will not damage the wings. Gently squeeze at the cord line. Where the wings meet the body., Good luck. I'm sure it decreased the gross takeoff weight by a tad. 🙂

I live in P.A and I'm 43 yrs old and I live near multiple natural springs, RB winter state park, a small one in Norry, and a few more we keep secret, but that's our drinking water, and always will be, we take 10 or more Tulpehocken 5 gallon jugs and fill them up.

I have worn them down. They are awaiting an estimate from the roofer for replacing 50 shingles or more. They will try to wear you down. Do everything they ask and document everything you do. Maximize the photo's and video. My hope is to not resolve it . At that point they will be face to face with the PA AG office. By then it will be too late for them.

This was the first run. Ran fairly well for #1 carb being misassembled and #2 with fuel running out of the Bowl. After two months refurbishing it is unrecognizable. Finished product videos to be uploaded soon.

The flat caterpillar track gives it away as a fake. Tigers had a thicker track with rounded edges.
