Atmospheric Ambiance on a Modular Synth (Make Noise, Moog, Mutable Instruments and Xaoc)
มุมมอง 1903 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a three-minute live drone using my Eurorack modular synth with some help from Valhalla DSP at the end of the chain. The three Make Noise STOs are playing the main chord, plus a Moog Mother-32 (off-screen) for a root bass note. Maths is slowly painting a logarithmic rise and fall of an amplitude envelope. There is some Erbe-Verb mixed in there, plus a few slow-swelling LFOs for shape and ...
"Analogue Flight" - Modular Synth Jam on Endorphin.es BLCK_Noir, Milky Way, Airstreamer and Godspeed
มุมมอง 4604 ปีที่แล้ว
Apologies for the angle and I know that there is a prominent Moog logo here, but it's just a case I used to mount the Endorphin.es modules. Sequencing via Arturia KeyStep Pro and additional effects courtesy of Valhalla Freq Echo. Otherwise, everything you see and hear is live.
"Bitcrush a Dream" using Erica Synths S&H circuit on a Black Modulator analog modular synth module
มุมมอง 4824 ปีที่แล้ว
Wanted to play and demo a sample-rate reduction technique (sometimes known as "bit-crushing", except there are no "bits" here since it's 100% analogue) using a "sample and hold" circuit on my Erica Synths Black Modulator module. I'm using a familiar source to really hear the transformation - it's Martin Luther King Jr. "I Have a Dream" speech, during the Civil Right rally on the steps of Linco...
Erica Synths Noise Generation with Black VCO, Modulator, Polyvoks VCF, Octasource, and Delay Modules
มุมมอง 2314 ปีที่แล้ว
The audio is originating from the S&H circuit of the Black Modulator. Its CV is being driven by the Black VCO's Saw wave output, which is, in turn, being pitched (using the 1V/oct CV) by the Saw output from the Modulator, running at audio rate. The sweeping pitches of the main oscillator are essentially being bit-crushed by the S&H, the rate of which is controlled by the LFO. So there is a type...
Mike Lazarev - All I've Said
มุมมอง 3.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The music video is a collaboration between director Jessie Rodger, Rambert dancer Nancy Nerantzi and composer Mike Lazarev for his solo piano single, "All I've Said" released on Moderna Records. . . . it was unspoken, hence unheard unwritten, and in turn unread but in between each silent word i have resigned to all i've said . . . [ABOUT THE VIDEO] We shot at first light on a beach in North Cor...

I was aware for a long time you were creating lots of things with Eurorack but missed this videos. Chilling and fascinating this ambient-drone piece

Lovely and haunting. Is atmospheric noise the only source, and the rest is graph of transformations?

Thanks, dude! Not exactly. Do you see the three red cables on the bottom left? They're coming out of three separate oscillators. Each one is an analogue circuit producing a triangle-shaped "waveform". It has a circuit the produces a linear rising voltage until a reset voltage is reached, reversing the current, also in a linear fashion (google "triangle core" to geek out further). This happens really fast at a specified frequency, and thus generates a "tone." The three of them generate a musical "chord" because I specially tuned the "pitch" of each one to a specific interval (music theory and maths!). Then, after that, it's a bunch of "graph transformations" by rippling through even and odd harmonics, dynamics, and time-based effects! So, I guess, even the "atmospheric noise" is fully generated by me :)

I searched a long time for that unique type of music and just found you on spotify. I love the sounds beside the piano, the breath, the piano itself, all the unperfect. I was just walking through the night in a cold fog and it was wonderful to walk with such a piece of art. Keep beeing you, never copy keep that unique touch it is so authentic

This is exactly like a Weezer song as a contemporary composition but I cannot put my finger on it. Thought it was the Pinkerton album but must be a different album.
