Doc Watson - Open Up Them Pearly Gates
มุมมอง 2.4K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Couldn't find any versions of Doc doing this gospel number, and I thought it was a fitting farewell. I'm sure the gates opened wide for Doc, and he's gonna "pick-it-pretty" with Merle up in Heaven. This is from the Vanguard, "Doc and Merle Watson Live on Stage" LP.

First game of the season for the U10 league. Most of our girls are just 8, but they play really hard and as a team! Here, they get scored on, but they fought back. Final score, 3-2 yellow.

Do You Remember These?

Footage from 1950s television commercials and home videos accompanies by The Statler Brothers. Suggests a simpler, happier time for some Americans.

PLZZZZ
STOP THISSSSS
Let’s gooooo
NO
Nostalgia to the nth power.
Nobody did nostalgia quite like the Statlers.
This is a nice video for a Statler Brothers do we remember these.
Look how much fun people had without being glued to an electronic device.
I've thanked God many times for letting me grow up in the '50s and '60s! I'm so blessed!!
Me too..me too. I can almost cry.
That's Tom Bosley at the end, isn't it?
At 1:35, that's the first time I ever saw that kind of Coke can.
I was born in '63, and can remember "Pepsi, please". It was when I was VERY young, but I remember it nonetheless.
I would rather FORGET all of those.
John Acord go for it!
Really the only thing that remains out of these is Betty and Veronica
Why yes I do remember the Double MInt Twins and then some.
Is the montage from the "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" doco? Looks a lot like it.
Thank you for being me back to a lot better time.
Being young and white and living in suburbia and being king (or queen) of all one surveys! Of COURSE I REMEMBER that! However, time marches on and is wholly indifferent to the nostalgia of in-groups. Nice song though.
WildwoodClaire1 write their own song!
Today would be viral videos, social media... I phone 6! Snap chat, Facebook, twitter and instagram! Eciggaretes! Justin beiber, Nicky manaj,.. and drake.. ohhh do you remember those. That'll be in 30 years
What if they remade this song with 80's or 90's nostalgia
Give it a few more decades...
Go Gorge jones
This video reminds me of simpler times, hell, I'm lucky if I can post this message, years ago I would have just written it out, and MAILED it to everyone ....
relate so much
Sure do remember them thanks for the for the Memories it was a better more innocent time don't think we'll ever see it again so sorry for kids living today that really missed a lot
i remember these miss them too
Why this song isn't in fallout 4????
Talk about School House Rock!
i remember most of them, I was raised in the 50s and 60s
My grandparents and parents raised me with these songs. I m 45 and remember most of these
I remember! (And Andre Main, you're a horses ass for making that comment. Grow up!)
Always loved the NLCR and this tune. Am I hearing a 4-string tenor guitar here (ala Delmore Brothers), or a 6-stringer with a capo up high?
memories of growing up
Kimberly Pijnappel yes me too i wish they still had 4 foul balls yor out
I remember Roy Roger's horse. :D
Me too. His name was Trigger.
do you remember his dog's name?
Those were magical times when America was still innocent. I wish I was here then.
No offense, but they were "magical" if one was a member of the in-group at the time. Others may have thought they sucked royal dicks.
WildwoodClaire1 ya you would have been miserable
Hey that was Howard Cunningham in that last scene.
GREAT PICS
Andrew Kay yes born 44
If I could sing, I'd do an update of this with material from the 70s and 80s.
Thanks.
Recorded in 1971 or '72. Released in '72.
just llove this video. Have loved the Statlers Bros music forever, did not think anything could make it better...but I was wrong! Thank you for this video!
2 people didn't remember these :(
I'll bet this would be really great with a slide guitar solo. That would certainly go with the mood of the song, as well as its preoccupation with booze!
Man, I haven't heard this song for over thirty years, and here it is on youtube! This is awesome! Thank you so much!
I started elementary school in 1950 and I remember all of "these". great times.
No it was peging your pants, that is when you made them tight around your ankles, and an indian burn was when you took both hands and twisted in two different directions.
Great song. When was this recorded?
Did a little research and sure enough, it was Tom Bosley doing a commercial for 1956 Studebakers.
