Emerson, Lake & Palmer Albums Ranked Worst to Best
With Crim, it's pretty much excellent to more excellent to most excellent. If you're ranking them, something has to go on the bottom, but it isn't by any means a condemnation. My top three BTW are 3) ToaPP, 2) Red, and 1) Lizard.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I could not agree more with your comment!
Presto is my favorite Rush album 👍
Thank you for watching and commenting! Presto definitely has excellent material for sure!
Just wondering, how many stars would you give PG’s newest album, i/o?
Thank you for watching and commenting! At the moment I would say it's a very strong 3 stars. In fairness though, I need to spend more time with it. It took my awhile with UP, and that is still one of my favorites of his. So, as of now, 3, however, that could change (for the better).
Damn near all of Tumbleweed Connection...❤
@@DavidDykes-dm9lc Agreed! Great point.
20:07 song name?
@@klozz2080 That is called "Fire on High"
@@Starman-zi9tl thanks I'm new to ELO apart from Evil Woman, Last Train to London and Mr Blue Sky
@@klozz2080 You're very welcome! Thank you for watching!
@@Starman-zi9tl have listened to the first 7 albums (will continue of course) and my God Out of the Blue is so good. Not a single skip track imo, which is specially great when we're talking about a double album. Kuiama is a masterpiece too, ELO 2 seems to be very underrated and it's my second favorite for now.
@klozz2080 I'm glad you're enjoying ELO2, as it is so very underrated. Out of the Blue is a terrific double album, no doubt about that!

5 stars is octopus debut acquiring the taste and the power and the glory 4 stars is three friends in a glass house and civilian 3 stars is interview and the missing piece And 2 stars is giant for a day I have not listened to free hand yet
Thank you for watching and commenting! Definitely check out Free Hand when you get a chance.
I would place court on on 3 red on 2 and larks on 1
Thank you for watching and commenting! Depending on the day, I would probably agree!! All great!
Extremely subjective -- ALL Rush fans would rank this totally different based on how old they are or when they started listening to them. 1... Power Windows 2 ... Grace 3 ... Moving Pictures 4 ... Roll the Bones 5 ... Presto 6 ... HYF 7 ... Permanent Waves 8 ... Signals 9 ... Counter Parts 10 ... Test 4 echo 11 ... everything else (and it's all great)
In no universe is counterparts better than Fly By Night
LOL fair enough. This is part of the reason why I no longer make worst to best vids. It all depends on the day... When I made the video I must have been digging Counterparts more. If I made it today, some things would def. change. regardless, thank you for watching!
You are not afraid of the 'Fripper-Copyright hammer', and For that my sir you have my respect.
LOL Thank you!
Otherwise, U did a good job at introducing the best band ever.
just in U introduction U mention that U do not hate. This pisses me off so very much, that I think U should get confined into a mental asylum.
I think your listing is spot on. King Crimson is one of the very few bands that has continued to keep me coming back decade after decade.
@@echo-boy9649 Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I totally agree, they are one of my favorites as well!
You mean favorite to least favorite.
@@PatMan1966 Yes, exactly! This is a totally subjective list based only on my opinions. Thank you for watching and commenting!
As for me, KC died after Red. Belew era is not real KC, just the name for money earn.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Although I may not fully agree, I respect it and can understand why.
5 stars : "Acquiring the Taste" / "Three Friends" 4 stars : "Gentle Giant" / "Octopus" / "The Power and the Glory" I only cared for "In a glass house" for just two songs, same with "Free Hand".

Thank you for watching and your kind words! Great rankings! I would have been okay if Drama was their last studio album or maybe 90125 if I'm in the right mood. lol Thank you for commenting!
Again, your channel getting me into a prog band I barely even knew about. Moonmadness is a strong contender for my favorite album of all time, and considering the only other record I think might be on the same level for me is OK Computer by Radiohead (maybe Duke by Genesis as well actually, for me it's prog but there's a lot of discussion about that), it is my favorite prog album of all time. I'll try to rate them: Camel (4/5, good debut) Mirage (4.5/5) Snow Goose (3.5/5, I can't deny it's a good record but the fact it's all instrumental makes up for a harder listen than other albums that may have one song or two that are just ok at best but still seems a bit more interesting to hear) Moonmadness (6/5 lol) Rain Dances (4/5, lineup change went unexpectedly well) Breathless (5/5, prog classics, pop songs that should be on the radio and, of course, Rainbow's End which makes me try to hold my tears back) ICSYHFH (4/5, underrated album) Nude (4.5/5, not 5 because of the same reasons as Snow Goose but the execution is a lot better IMO) Single Factor (2.5/5, final 2 songs might be my favorites Camel has ever done, but the rest is really inconsistent) Stationary Traveller (2.5/5, great side 1 for the most part, great closer, boring rest Dust and Dreams (2/5) Harbour of Tears (1.5/5 at the very very best) Rajaz (3/5, good return to form tho slightly overrated of an album) Nod & a Wink (4/5, weird album with a very specific mood and very few lyrics, but really good overall and easily their best since Nude)
@@klozz2080 Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Great ratings, and moonmadness is amazing! They are such a great band who sadly get overlooked. Thanks again for commenting!
Great albums I have them all And more

The one thing that hasn’t changed about TH-cam over the years, is how triggered some people get in response to someone’s “worst”, “ best” or “ top 10” lists etc. - if you don’t like this list, just say so & make your own! Taking personal shots at someone over a list? Get a life bro. My god. What’s even worse is the ones that are most belligerent , are usually factually wrong. I’m no expert on music or Rush. But I was assigned as security detail on several of their tours, including 1991/92 RTB,Test For Echo 96/97 ( i was contracted for Counterparts Tour but my wife was hospitalized so I cancelled ) & Vapor Trails was my last tour with the band & The Rio concert was the most memorable event of my career. - I worked some landmark moments in my life ( US festival’83, Prince - Purple Rain tour’84/‘85, U2 Joshua Tree NA tour ‘87) but none had the raw energy that Rush in Rio had.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! Wow! That's amazing! Just listening to Rush in Rio has always given my chills because some of that energy was captured. I can not even imagine what is must of been like to actually experience it first hand. Very cool! Thank you for sharing!
You lost me at 90125 being at 13! 😳 👎
Sorry!!! lol I know. I know longer make worst to best for good reason. If I made this today, it would be different and 90125 would be higher for sure. Regardless, thank you for watching and commenting!
I would maybe put Hammill's Silent Corner and Empty Stage as my #2 after Pawn Hearts!
Also Vital is one of their best!
@@mrhenu Thank you for watching and commenting! You are absolutely correct on both accounts!!!
Is it upset down?
2112-Moving Pictures and everything in between is pure gold.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, this was certainly their golden period for sure!!
I'm not very fwmiliar with KC post-Perfect Pair but the scippet of Construkction Of Light sounds like it's from the Discipline-era. For a band that's all about progressiveness, trying new things, that snippet sounds like a throwback.
Great ranking, and I need to hunt down a lot more Thin Lizzy albums ! 🤘🤠
Thank you for watching and commenting!! Yes, they are an amazing band and well worthy of a deep dive into their catalogue.
Power to Believe over Discipline? I would rank Power dead last and Discipline second place :) However, thanks for the Video, very informative and fun.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I know! I'm in the minority there ranking Power over Discipline. All I can say is, it's all good! Thank you again for watching!
The Snow Goose is the most perfect album anyone has ever recorded. All their albums are at least good, but most are absolutely excellent. The last 4 are well worth a listen as they are often overlooked. Rajaz is a masterpiece. The best prog band of all time for me.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes! I love the enthusiasm regarding Camel! They are so overlooked, it's a shame. They are amazing! Thank you again!
❤❤❤❤
Rush............... Clockwork Angels in my opinion is not good ...........
Thank you for watching! To each their own. CA is definitely my favorite latter day Rush album for sure.
It’s better to start with the collection of the three first charisma album as it is an easier introduction to the band. My start was afterwards on Aerosol that I bought in 73
Thank you for watching, and great point!! Very much agree with you.
I liked what one 70's critic said of VDGG 'Do not play near animals or children', now that would have been a good title for one of their live albums, or a boxed set release.... If you can look out for the live version of 'Mergyls III (the song writers guild)' live in Paris in 1976 from their 20 disc collected works-it is surely the definitive reading of the song.
Thank you for watching and commenting! That's a great quote!!! I'm on the hunt now for that version of Mergyls III, thank you for the heads up!!
To me, Free Hand is the best album. All tunes are good. In the others albums, there is always a couple of tracks bad. Rivers on octopus , second track on In a glass house. On Free Hand no need to fast forward your cassette tape deck! It is various and complete. But there is fantastic songs on the others album. But you have to lift the needle sometimes on the 33!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I can see that, Free Hand is an amazing album with really no weak spots!
Ranking The Piper as worse then Division...interesting. Ps; You're all over the place with your facts. But otherwise very enjoyable videos
Thank you for watching and commenting! I know, if I were to rank them today, I'm sure it would be different.
Thank you for this video, as an ELO fan as you i really appreciate it (although i have to say Discovery is anything but a poor album!).
Thank you for watching and commenting! My apologies regarding Discovery! I was a bit harsh on it. After re-listening to it recently, I would give it another star. Thanks again!
@@Starman-zi9tl you are so polite thank you for this. Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil.

Fun to see all the different lists. After 90125 I can't name an album which I really liked. My top 5 list: 1. Going For The One 2. Close To The Edge 3. Fragile 4. Relayer 5. Drama
Thank you for watching and commenting! I agree, I love to see all the different lists and opinions. That's a fantastic top 5 you have there!
Whodunnit is nowhere near being the worst Genesis song ever.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Ok... you piqued my curiosity, tell me which song you think is worse. Not being a wise guy, just generally curious.
@@Starman-zi9tl Alone Tonight, Another Record, most of side 2 of the Mama album, Invisible Touch, In Too Deep, Throwing It All Away, I'd Rather Be You, Jesus He Knows Me, I Can't Dance, Never a Time, Tell Me Why, Way of the World, Since I Lost You, Hearts On Fire...and pretty much everything on CAS, save maybe 2 or 3 songs.
@@jhillst Thank you for replying! Very interesting, however, me personally, I would still take all of those songs over whodunnit. I don't know why it offends me so much. lol
Great list but Discipline has to be higher in my opinion.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, if I made this video today, I think Discipline would be higher.
Very Interesting comments, I went to a concert in 1973 thinking they were a great band, and came away thinking I’d underestimated them, it was brilliant!
Thank you for watching and commenting! Wow, that's amazing to have seen them in 73!! I'm jealous!! I can only imagine how brilliant it was!
My ratings after listening to their whole catalogue Self-Titled- 4/5 ATT- 3/5 3 Friends- 5/5 Octopus- 4/5 Glass House- 4/5 Power and Glory- 5/5 Free Hand- 5/5 Interview- 5/5 Missing Piece- 2/5 Giant for a Day- 2/5 Civilian- 6/5 and I’m not even joking when I say it’s my favorite album of theirs
Thank you for watching and commenting! I get it, and think it's great that Civilian is your favorite! Certainly an amazing band!
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is what separates Genesis from Yes or any of their contemporaries. The album is incomparable to anything else. I never understood why the band members of Genesis didn’t recognize that it was such a great accomplishment and would become one of the greatest masterpieces in Prog history. I really love Selling England by the Pound and Foxtrot. Listening to The Musical Box from Nursery Cryme was one of the most mind blowing moments in my life as far as music goes. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is absolutely on the top of my list. There is nothing else anything like it nor will there ever be.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, I couldn't agree more!! Very well said.
the Phil-led 80s pop years get way too much hate, IMO. We Can't Dance, Invisible Touch, even Abacab - these are awesome albums! you can't hate on a band for evolving with the times while still remaining true to themselves, amiright? 1. Selling England - all the stars aligned and it all works (except "More Fool Me") 2. Foxtrot - epic and sweeping, not just for "Supper Ready" though that's enough 3. The Lamb - a mess, and the cracks in the group were showing, but great songs prevail 4. Duke - straddles the line between prog and pop, massively underrated 5. We Can't Dance - fell in love with Genesis in 1992 when I heard "Driving the Last Spike" 6. Invisible Touch - one of the greatest and most iconic albums of the entire 80s 7. Nursery Cryme - the first time it all clicked into place 8. Genesis - kinda scattershot; some is excellent, some the opposite 9. Wind & Wuthering - still finding their footing with Phil on vocals, but mostly strong effort 10. A Trick of the Tail - surprisingly good considering the shakeup of losing Gabriel 11. Abacab - experimenting with new sound textures that works around 50% of the time 12. And then There Were Three - the shakeup of losing Hackett caused a good but uneven album 13. Trespass - Genesis before they have a solid idea of what it means to be Genesis 14. Calling All Stations - Genesis after the heart and soul that made them Genesis has been sucked out 15. From Genesis to Revelation - pre-Genesis Genesis, or The Bee Gees-esis
Thank you for watching and commenting! And yes you are right for sure! I may have been a bit hard on their more pop oriented stuff, but I agree it's still great! Great rankings and comments on your part.
All RUSH studio albums have merit. The ones I listen to least frequently would be Counterparts, Test for Echo, and Caress of Steel. The ones I listen to most frequently (entire album) are Moving Pictures, Clockwork Angels, and Permanent Waves. I used to not like Vapor Trails because I thought it sounded poor; however, the REMIX of that album makes it one I listen to fairly regularly.
Excellent point! Thank you for watching and commenting. I totally agree regarding the Remix of Vapor Trails. It makes the album way more listenable.
