I think my aussie shepherd has trained me... every time he does something wrong like steal another dog's ball I have to give him a treat for him to drop it, and now he purposely steals other dog's balls because he knows he'll get treats 😪

I use a cue "Say Hello" to let my puppy know when they are able to go and meet another dog or person - provided of course that both parties are happy with the interaction to proceed. Once my puppy has met a person or a dog then I’ll settle them down and reward them for staying calm and ignoring distractions while the next few people and dogs pass.

Yes you are correct, you need to reward your dog the moment it does the task you set it; however instead of using treats as rewards, I reward my dogs with praise, of good boy/girl and tickles... it works so well.

Border collies need tons of mental stimulation (training, brain games, problem solving) and physical excercise (walks, running, fetch tug etc.) If your dog is laying around all the time and sleeping a lot that can be a sign of bordem and depression from not having their needs properly met.

We are cruxing out at getting on with my torso on the stool. My dog is hesitant and at most will get her front paws up. Any tips?

This is a great dog training. I try it and it works.

Oh my God. yesterday I took my 7 months GSD to the dog park and the park was super busy and also was the first time going to this park unfortunately he left me and just went playing with other lady she was doing fetch with her dogs. but when I was calling him yes he listen to me and come run toward me but not coming to me just passing me and going away 😒 any suggestions it may fix this issue while he is treats drive is very strong but he just was ignoring me

Channel Seven on this side of the ditch (Sydney) show reruns of Harry's Practice during the wee hours, a 1990s -2000s animal show which features the vet Harry visiting homes and demonstrating techniques to alter behaviour. He worked miracles on seemingly hopeless cases, and they were usually simple solutions. The owners just needed training themselves!

Good video lots of channels on training dogs make It difficult to understand unfortunately the way you explain that makes a lot of sense and people will understand what you are basically saying not confuse like other dog trainers they confuse the owner of the dog and they walk away thinking what was all that about again how do I do that again

The first 15 seconds and you’ve just described my (almost) 6 year old Border Collie.

Love that. Do you have some advices for when your dog is following you as soon as you start walking inside the house? On a German TH-cam channel the trainer said when a dog is following you it doesn’t necessarily mean he wants to stay next to you all the time but it’s rather a controlling behavior. When I let my dog off leash outside he’s often ignoring me but inside he’s following every footstep I take. I tried everything… The first few times I want him to come to me when he’s off leash he reacts and comes to me but after a while it seems like he becomes less interested although I always give him treats and use marker words and stuff as a reward.
