DIY Orbit In-Ground Sprinkler System Part 2!
So you wanna to install YOUR OWN ground sprinklers? In this video I install the second part of my very own in-ground sprinkler system using the Orbit 2 zone in-ground sprinkler kit! NOT A HOW TO!!!! This video is here to give you ideas of what to expect, and for entertainment purposes!
More specifically in this part I install zone 2 of the system, and upgrade the first 12 feet of pipe from 1/2 blu-lock, to 3/4 PVC. Not only that but at the end I show the further upgrades I made to the system!
This part isn't as detailed as part 1. This video is here to just show the install of zone 2, which even then I didn't get much footage because the camera either stopped working, or corrupted the file. Apologies for that, but I put together what I could!

Outdoor Air Compressor Enclosure for My 1/2HP Husky Air Compressor!

I take an old freezer (low temp refrigeration) condenser outdoor enclosure, and use it to keep my small air compressor out of the elements! I filmed and installed my air compressor system about a year ago and it works great! You can check out the full install video using a link below! But when I was planning the system I knew I wanted to put the air compressor outside! So I figured if a refrige...

    Are those moving beams more visible in person? I want to get the same kind that you have but I’m wondering how bright the actual beams are

    • @bigbrainmike568
      @bigbrainmike568 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Austin.Wahlquist they are more visible in person yes. Just so long as you have a thin layer of fog. If you watch my video for “Dead Man’s Party” that’s a perfect scenario for the beams

    Where there any other devices that you needed to switch from the LOR software to xlights? I’m pretty sure you have to run it off of a raspberry pi.

    • @bigbrainmike568
      @bigbrainmike568 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope! If your going to mix and match controllers like I did. Run separate data lines. I think I mentioned it before but I ran 3. 2 lines ran LOR protocol, and 1 ran E1.31 protocol. That was for this show. The new show (2023 show) used 2 lines. 1 LOR protocol and the other I used DDP (Direct Display Protocol) instead of E1.31 which is what helps me run my insanely high density lights at 100 FPS. And I actually don’t use a raspberry pi. Although some people do and it works great. I actually use a workstation PC. Renders VERY motion intense light programs in no time and runs the show with no hiccups. If you have a small display and aren’t trying to set records for light FPS and density per port. Then you can totally use a raspberry pi. To summarize. Switching to xLights is really easy. Just make sure you select the right protocol for your controllers and get the DMX or LOR addressing correct (addressing can be a challenge but as you see with my display it works in the end).

      @Austin.Wahlquist 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bigbrainmike568 So, if you have 2 LOR controllers you would have to run the on separate COM ports, each with a separate USB adapter?

    • @bigbrainmike568
      @bigbrainmike568 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Austin.Wahlquist correct, especially in my situation. The Pixie’s run a higher bitrate than the CTB16PC does so to get the best results and highest FPS I recommend running separate lines. You can daisy chain them if you want but again for best performance I would play it safe and give each controller a designated COM and RS485 adapter

    So for that year, which props were being controlled by the pixie 8 and which were controlled by the alphapix?

    • @bigbrainmike568
      @bigbrainmike568 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The candy canes and mini trees where using the Pixie 8. While everything else like the house outline, Windows, and arches, along with the beam lights were using the Alphapix.

  • @Austin.Wahlquist
    @Austin.Wahlquist 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What kind of pixels are you using and how are you mounting them?

    • @bigbrainmike568
      @bigbrainmike568 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Windows use high density strips that are hot glued to the edges of the window. There are 300 nodes per window (single strip). The house outline uses bullet and square nodes that are held together in a punch plate. I also went for a high density configuration on those as well. The door is 270 nodes, the side outlines are 180 nodes, and the garage top strip is 290 nodes. The punch plates are secured to the house with zip ties and command strips for easy removal.

    Are you still using light-o-rama for the pixels?

    • @bigbrainmike568
      @bigbrainmike568 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not anymore no. Main reason being is I can’t get the Pixie 8 to output any more than 60FPS (even then the fact I could get it to run that fast is insane). So I replaced it. I did keep the Light-O-Rama enclosure and setup inside it, I just put two 4 port logic boards in there instead. I still also have the Pixie 8 Logic board for future projects.

I can’t sell this one as the original programmer for the program is @LightsOn81st BUT… Their version of this program is free to download in the xLights community Google drive folder! Go to “resources” on the xLights website then scroll down to “community shared xLights files” and it will take you right to the xLights google drive!
