Its good because now after all that she has been through and knowing sympathy and empathy through peoples own problems, she now can see the problem how Major Gillbert might have felt why he needed to have this distanced life away from everyone. She conveyes that in her last letter that she understands him and that is such a good ending because gillbert can see that she grew up to be everything he wanted she to be ( a beautifull life )

I didn't see what was destroyed tbh.. Rather, it seems like she deserved it, after going through all that bad past and changing ppl lifes with her letter..

I wouldn't say it ruined it. The story was going to end with the two of them reunited, and both their feelings still going strong, or even steonger than ever. The point of Violet's Journey was to understand her own feelings, and to grow up, and grow out of being just a puppet in everyone's hands. Of course this is an anime original ending, as the third volume of the novel was still in the making when the anime debuted in 2018, and they had to continue with what the adaptation started (honestly this ending is kind of meh compared to the novel) in the novel they reunite much, much sooner, and at the very end of the story Violet finally grows into understanding what her feelings truly mean. Also, in the novel Violet is older than she's said to be in the anime adaptation, somewhere in her early 20's by the end
