Sometimes these vendors dont know themselves that its fake. They are going by whatever the distributor says. They are not naturalists they are business people and most likely knows nothing about the product except that its in high demand

what company you got the real one?

I dont it is right to call it a fake sea moss.. its just different genus.. My company is seaweed trading, we cultivate seaweed ( some are what you called sea moss in US ) and export it to China and Vietnam to make Agar and Carrageenan .. What you called the fake sea moss on the right is probably E. Cottonii or E. Spinosum.. I cant tell from your video, because those look similar in when still fresh.. We sell it to carrageenan factory.. The one on the left plate is seems like the Gracilaria Genus ( warm water red seaweed ) or chondrus crispus (cold water red seaweed) They all have minerals and great nutritional value for human consumption.. In asia, we also have another one called Gelidium.. we believe its superior compare to the gracilaria or e. cottonii... Gelidium is usually made for superior agar as pharmaceutical grade...
