There is a misconception about the whole idea of 'IQ'. I did a lot of literature review, and even examined the questions on WAIS-III and other "intelligence" tests after I took them. I conclude that they do not measure 'intelligence' in anyway further from the manifest and latent variables used in each of the items. They all use a very monolithic concept of intelligence based on Cattell-Horn's or Weschler's concept of 'intelligence', while failing to measure abstract, intuitionistic, creative, or associative forms of mental capacities. Studies of the intra-demographic correlations of people in "different IQ" gaps show declining reliability, validity, and correlation at the extreme levels, meaning that IQs above 128 or so are technically questionable. This was why I harangued against a friend who tried to persuade me to join Mensa, as it is a totally bogus concept. Join Mensa? No thanks. It's only for people who want to "feel special", while neglecting concepts like wisdom, creativity, perseverance, artistic abilities etc. To join Mensa is to propagate the monolithic concept of IQ as a strictly logico-analytical, verbal-linguistic, or spatial construct that hegemonizes all our understanding of being 'smart', while excluding all others. I don't care if my IQ is 1 point below the ceiling of WAIS. Human capacity is far more than what a vacuous intelligence quotient suggests. Having a photographic memory, extremely broad general knowledge, or the mere comprehension of theories in highly crystallized and established ways do not constitute true intelligence. Having a splendid working memory, or being good at solving equations is not true intelligence. True intelligence is the capacity to make sense of not just novel information, but to associate and integrate them in an entirely different perspective or paradigm, and to continuously form ever more abstract levels of meta-cognition, and also to see how they connect with all other things, and to see how they can be applied in the continued evolution of consciousness. It is not about being faster than others. It is not about achieving academic success. It is not about make leaps in career. It is not about understanding on a purely Batesian level. Please put this illusion aside. Being in "high-IQ societies" is not a proxy for emotional substitution, or the capacity to create brilliant treatises or theories. It's only a social club at most - but if you wish to find people who are truly wise or 'intelligent' - don't seclude oneself to the orthodox definition of intelligence. Humans are beyond shades of white and black. Just be yourself. Do not be a self that is deliberately moulded to fit the social expectations of demands of a society like Mensa. It is an illusion. Snap out of it

loved watching the entire interview (pt1-3) thanks to hamletshero for the videos. I also love just listening to Adam talk he's so articulate and down to earth which is very refreshing today as many celebrities are not good in interviews. Adam is open and honest and very sexy.

So glad there wasn't any "gay" questions in there. You barely touched on the topic and I know he gets annoyed with that sometimes. I've watched/read soooooo many interviews of him and so many of them ask the same, boring, generic questions, but this one actually had original ones, which lead to a great interview. So good job. :) and omg, when he said he'd prefer a conversation and a hug than physical gifts...could he be any more sweet? Makes me want to meet him even more.
