Edinburgh PsychoEd Intervention for Children
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 14 ก.ค. 2022
EPIC involves an individualised ‘tool-kit’ approach to child development that aims to facilitate optimal learning, behaviour, and well-being in children and young people.
The principles of EPIC apply to all children but are particularly relevant to children with ADHD, ASD, DCD/dyspraxia and those born prematurely.
Our resources can be used outwith taking part in an actual intervention. The booklets in the resources section can be used by parents and teachers to identify a child’s strengths and difficulties and help with understanding of them (‘Understanding’ booklets). The Strategy booklet can be used to practice strategies to optimise thinking skills, learning and well-being.

Why do neurodivergent girls begin to mask and is it linked to mental health difficulties?
Camouflaging (also called masking) is when a neurodivergent person (autistic, ADHD and/or dyspraxia) pretends to be neurotypical
A recent study led by Ailbhe McKinney, within a University of
Edinburgh research team, found that neurodivergent girls are masking by the early teenage years. Importantly, the research found this is linked with poor mental health

Would it be possible to work with Edinburgh Council Education/ASL-Psychologists Department or even better- maybe all authorities /Education Scotland on developing one document together? Edinburgh schools use Circle document, Boxall Profiles, etc.. which are great but big and many. There are various documents suggesting the same strategies but also having their unique benefits and information. It would be very helpful in terms of teachers' workload if we had one document across our authorities/country. Thank you. Very helpful webinar and resources!
