do you knoiw if this total station has a Reference Line as program or apliccation !?
Now M8 only supports Point to Line Survey, thats the same as reference line survey, which you can get the vertical distance and direction of the observation point P and the measurement site O to the reference line AB. If you go the other way, you have these parameters and want to know where is point P, you can use the fucntion "Offset point calculation" from CY software to calculate its coordinate firstly, then stake the point P out.
