Im 19, and after finishing college a year ago, I decided I wasnt ready for uni just yet and joined a Creative Enterprise course (art+business classes) hoping to get a little bit savy with promoting myself and having opportunities to exhibit locally. I was mortified when in business class we were using AI to create social media captions, ideas, monthly budgeting plans, everything! I knew going in that I would have to extract nuggets of useful and ethical knowledge from whats essentially a class teaching young people how to manipulate a consumer/customer base, but I was totally surprised to have my marked course work be AI generated! I didnt even have a chance to opt out. I have since become inactive on Instagram and pursuing exhibitions and markets has become that much harder because everything is on social media. Its a real shame, but I have hopes that joining uni this year will help me meet like minded people to create with apart from socials. Great video!

Definitely in agreement with you. I have just come to the conclusion that we just need to shift our expectations of these platforms and use them for what they're good for... not much. I have a substack too, would love if you followed, I have my though on social media for artists. Title is Sketchbook Shenanigans. Also, have you considered digital collage? I love it, I scan my papers and use them (make the shapes with the wand tool) in Procreate and Adobe Fresco. Look it up, I think it can be a happy medium for you when you want to create with just the iPad. Oh also, I did receive the prints and love them and I certainly would not be upset if you changed up the monthly prints 😊 Take Care Deborah!
