Great vid and extremely interesting
Hello Steve - Great production. I had the KW twins line up - the 202 & 204 etc, Had really great fun for many years. I still have my KW/DECCA antenna switch. Steve I think we had a CW QSO a few times many years ago. 73 de Ger EI6DP
Always lovely to see Bruna interviewed. Buying from the Begali family is a joy, although most will only buy one or two keys off them but in my experience you’re made feel you’re a special, and valued customer. For an online transaction that’s exceedingly rare. Bruna is a treasure
Hi Steve, glad I found this, very interesting . Ken, G5KW actually visited me when I lived at Meopham,he turned up In I think a model T Ford which he ran around in. I wonder if the 2000D drifted as much as the straight 2000E.
Question for Mike concerning setting up HDSDR with RSPdx. In the HDSDR/SDRPlay RSP How to Guide, page 6, states: "To install the EXT/IO Driver, Double click on the file SDRplay_EXTIO_Installer_v3.7 it will then ask you the location of HDSDR. Hit browse and tell the installer to look in the following default locations: Windows 32bit: C:\Program Files\HDSDR Windows 64 bit:C:\Program Files (x86)\HDSDR" My copy of HDSDR is located in C:\Program files (x86)\HDSDR I placed this file: ExtIO_SDRplay.RSTdx.dll into the HDSDR folder. Then after rebooting, I could not open either HDSDR app or Win4Icom through which the HDSDR was linked. Prior to installing the ExtIO, both of these apps apps opened and worked, minus connection to the RSPdx. By "worked" I mean that both Win4Icom and HDSDR reflected the frequency of the connected IC-7100 radio. Apparently, the addition of the ExtIO created a comport conflict - I'm guessing. Any tips you can give me to make the HDSDR work with my combo of Win4Icom, the IC-7100, and the RSPdx? This may not be the right place to post this question, but if you see this, please write me at gfmucci@yahoo.com. I'm not sure where else to post this question. Thanks.
What a sound genius! He will be missed.
Spark and Camelback here. Best straights I ever used.
Steve, thank you for producing this video. Very interesting.
Thanks for posting this, how have you setup the ground plane for the antenna?
What a great video!
Just about to by the discone for my SDR Play - would love to see a 9 band vertical in the future..80m to 6m - I have a small garden.. so I can only go up!
This lecture on sound is a hidden gem. Dr Heil gave us a live time of knowledge in a little over an hour that you couldn’t get in years of school. Knowledge is exponential and Dr Heil just proved it. Now we do is need to apply this gift of his experiences. Nuff said!!!
my rspdx sqeals when i key up what am i doing wrong
A fascinating presentation, thanks for your time in preparing this. Ray 2E0RWJ
What a truly amazing guy. Thank goodness he got into ham radio. I enjoyed listening to this, I’m not a clever guy but I followed some of this. Thank you. 73❤
Should be made into a flatpack and snap image so it will work on linux regardless of the distro and easier to maintain from the dev side.
Highly customizable
Mike is great! He knows this software inside and out and he's always very nice with his help... even if it's something that I should have found in the manual myself. And those memory banks are SO helpful. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this when you did. I had not seen it, but I've played with the demo version of August 2023 and it is coming along nicely. The finished product will be very nice.
I have enrolled. Looking forward for basic/ foundation. I think ham radio is teamwork. You can't learn morse code from computers or machines but from other hams.
Vaporware ?
Is today's market size (ham radio enthusiasts) reasonable for the survival of a small company in the business of Morse keys? Begali is synonymous of very high quality but still it might not be so obvious.
Wow a lot of memories there. Yes I remember the FTdx401,Swann 500, FT-101 and can relate to repairing them to. Still have them and many more. Thanks for the excellent presentation. Lyle VE5EE
The RAF seemed to modify them a switch and a white peace of plastic around the phone's jack do you know why it was done and what for ? Martin G4LMZ
Great Job Raisa! The best to you all from LB1NH in Oslo Norway! :-)
Not trying to poke holes... but if they don't want to be " rather ‘inundated’ with demands for updates on our software development efforts and in particularly the release date for SDRconnect".... Simply post very brief updates on where things are... As an owner all I see, is a web site saying that the current product line, they don't want to develop on anymore... the new software is not available... and they'd rather customers didn't contact them!
Today, March 16, 2023 and..... Still nothing. What's going wrong?
Is there something wrong?
Does anyone have those links Bruna placed into the meeting chat box?
nice and inportent beacons yes . thanks for qso to day tom zs1afs. de lb9ci
All hail to Raisa cutie pie! Damn! She is cute!!!
That was very nice
Really excited to hear about this new software, just ordered a second RSP in readiness, the DX model this time. Cross platform support and remote operation makes this really interesting! I’ve always wanted my own online SDR for listening while at work

Great video! Many thanks to Bruna for patiently answering all those questions! I had the great pleasure to meet the Begali family in person in October this year! BTW: Bruna, please put me on the list of people who are very interested in buying one of the "Special Edition Key" that will be - hopefully - available in 2023! Best regards from sunny Thailand! Peter, HB9DCZ/HS0ZPR.
I love my SDRUno/RSP1a combo. Is there a way to select the frequency to the VFO with one click?
It was a captivating talk. Mike is a very clever and inventive chap who has achieved a lot in very little space!
Thanks guys for doing this and Kevin for presenting. Enjoyed hearing your story here Al G0FFR
