Fujifilm x70 issues with app
มุมมอง 3382 หลายเดือนก่อน
I have since tried this again after reinstalling the app and my old x70 continues to have the same issue where it shuts down and then the screen is messed up afterwards for a bit. With my new x70 it shuts the camera down but doesn't affect the screen. So I think I'm done with this app.

Fujifilm x100vi at a wedding
มุมมอง 2.8K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Since I’ve had one man harassing me about this without listening to what I was actually saying, when I mentioned the xt4 for self portraits and a flip out screen (and I literally said not for weddings but my personal use) obviously I am not talking selfies as a part of my wedding business. And then you told me I only like those screens because I’m a “TH-camr” and that all real photographers hat...

Fujifilm x100vi… eventually
มุมมอง 9937 หลายเดือนก่อน
Guys I didn’t anticipate this but I have preordered the Fujifilm x100vi 🙈 when my x100v took a tumble last night (it survived 😅) it made me realize how devastated I would be if it broke and I had no replacement (since the back order is so bad right now) so I figured it’s worth me getting the new one and keeping my x100v as the backup in the future. Anyone who knows me knows I carry this camera ...

How did you snap the photos?
I'm a part time professional photographer I have day job still Switched to fuji 2 years ago and bam .....my earnings have quadrupled in that time .....I sell prints mow ...get more shoots My calendars explored I stated Xs10 to xt5 now GFX 100s ii which is mind blowing good Fuji colours are so darn nice I don't care that the auto focus is tricky....the colours are amazing
Get an XT5...sorry the XT4 isn't great 😒
I got the xt4 and I love it! I didn’t want an xt5.
@AllieBishopphoto I tried. The XT4 and I didn't like it.The XT5 focuses a lot faster... Significant image quality improvement. I have to admit i'm a bit of an image quality freak
It's interesting I have a GFX 100s ii as My main body I think an X100Vi is perfect for candid style photography Also 40 megapixels gives you cropping ability too Never use skin tones on ..Fuji has very smooth skin anyway 👌 Classic neg is main sim ..shoot raw and apply jpegs I reduce contrast
I got my first Fujifilm ever...an XT30ii and within a year and half, the motherboard crapped out. I was super gentle with this camera and that fix cost me nearly $700, so I'm not a fan of Fujifilm at this point. I sold it and bought a Ricoh GRiii and am very happy with it!
I'm not a professional, but I feel similarly. I've shot with RAW on a Sony A7 III for years, and became obsessed with my pictures' accuracy. Are they sharp, do the colors match what I saw, is the front eye perfectly in focus, do I have shallow (but not too shallow) depth of field, etc. This summer I started shooting with a Fuji XT-30 II, first using film simulations and in-camera recipes, then shooting RAW and applying my own Classic Chrome based preset in post. Shooting Fuji taught me that compelling subjects, pleasing and unique colors, good light and good composition matter much more than the technicalities. I'm feeling much more creative as a result. Like you, I tried applying this new mindset to shooting with my Sony gear, but I'm just not feeling it. It takes me a lot longer to get pleasing colors in post, every picture feels like its own battle, and I've apparently lost the patience for it! With the Fuji, most of the time I can just upload to my phone, pop into Lightroom Mobile, crop, apply my preset, tweak the lighting a little, maybe mess with the saturation a bit, and I've got a consistent result that's ready to share. In dim indoor conditions, or when color isn't doing anything for me, I'll often just shoot B+W JPEGs using the Acros+Ye film simulation - skintones are amazing, the high ISO noise looks like film grain, and because I don't have to worry about color banding, I can push the JPEG's exposure pretty far in post if necessary.
I’m glad to hear you’ve discovered this as well! I haven’t done much with B&W film sims but I’ll have to try out the one you mentioned!
Ich bin schockiert, es ist einfach klasse. Ich weiß wie eingeschränkt man mit der Kamera ist und Sie haben so schöne Fotos gemacht. 👍👍👍
Hi! it would have been good to show some examples of what you took.
I have plenty of samples on my instagram and TikTok pages that I mentioned :)
X-H2 & X-T4 have a flip out screen, but of course those get bigger, especially the X-H2 lineup.
Wow! Those greens are so beautiful starting at 5:20! How do you achieve that green color? I mostly shoot landscapes on hikes and stuff but would love to get the color you got for the greens. Any tip would be appreciated. If you sell that as a preset, let me know. My order for a Fujifilm XT-50 is on backorder but as soon as I have it, I am going to try some of these recipes as well. Thank you!
Those are edited in Lightroom to match the other wedding photos taken on my main camera :)
😀👍🙏Thanks for this.
Just got mine for USD 490 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Couldn't be happier to get something light and easy to travel with! (No, I don't use my phone to take photos). Now I can leave my Sony A7III at home
I have the x100t for many years now. Due to G.A.S. I got caught into the X100VI craze; hence I bought it. 24 hours later… I’ve packed it and returning it (at a loss). In short, I’m disappointed. I consider it more of a hype, rather than quality item. A perfectly executed marketing strategy, turned a mediocre product into an object of obsession. The looks, no doubt, turn it into a fetish. However: - the autofocus is still seriously subpar - the filters are a hype , without too much separation between them in their respective groups - the image quality of the new x-trans sensor is nowhere close to the old sensor (x-100t), straight out of camera I’m saving my money fr either the Leica deluxe 8 or a serious lens for my Canon system, and if I want to immerse…. I’ll go to my old and faithful x100t, anyday/anytime . Of course, a serious photographer can twist the output around and create magic out of the VI, however similarly so from any camera. Just saying, this thing, in my view …is not worth the dopamine surge.
I personally have seen a huge improvement over even my x100v so I’m very happy with my x100vi. Everyone is going to have their different preferences and needs but for me this was actually worth the upgrade.
They turned out great!
So cool! A secondhand X-H2 might be a better fit unless you really want the dials with the fully articulating screen. Great shots! I look forward to seeing more! Regards
The fully articulating screen is the main reason I wanted (and bought) the x-t4. I personally prefer cameras with an articulating screen.
May I know from which store did you get it from?
I was on a waitlist for months at my local camera store
Nice video and good explanation, however I have a question to ask if you don't mind. I am about to buy X100VI as my only camera, I currently own X-T4 that I am about to trade in, but I'm skeptical about X100V/X100VI portrait capabilities. So how good is this camera really for "professional" portrait work? I know it has wide and teleconversion lens and the new X100VI has 40mp sensor so it should be good for cropping in. I'm just worried about F2 not being good enough at eliminating busy backgrounds from portraits. What are your thoughts on X100VI portrait capabilities? Thanks in advance for your response 🙂
If it’s specifically for professional portraits I wouldn’t recommend the x100vi. I use it as an extra camera and for fun but I wouldn’t rely on it as my only camera for professional shoots. The xt-4 is a much better camera for those situations.
I have the newest one that I use on my X-T5, but as good as it is...I still love my 90mm for portraits as that's like a 135mm in full frame...the downside is the distance you have to stand from the person to use it
I have been fortunate to have mine since March...the IBIS for video is standard IBIS and IBIS+DIS (Digital Image Stabilization) which can be used when in certain video modes that create a crop due to digital zooming... I just always use IBIS and yes for images I just use it with shooting only to save battery. Happy to help if you have any questions.
Woo Hoo!!! So happy for you!! Congrats!!
Thanks so much!!
Awesome! Can you do a video on the photos you take with it
Yes, definitely! I do a lot more small videos like that on my TikTok channel (@alliesphotography) but I will try and remember to include some here as well. :)
Allie, Congrats on getting your X100VI ! It is an awesome camera and you will love it. @Pal2tech is a great resource for learning the camera and settings. His channel may be a good resource for you when you have some time to watch his videos. This will be my main camera when we go to Disney this fall as well. I look forward to seeing more of your content about this.
Awesome! I have some of his videos already saved to watch!
what is your ig account, I cant find you
I live my X70, although do also find it a little wider than I'd like (just means I have to get closer to my subjects). Glad I got it before prices went too silly!
just got one for 290 usd. cant wait to try it out :)
Makes total sense to me…..
Thank you for sharing your story, as a husband, Christian, working full time and photographer as a hobby, I learn alot from your videos. I curious if you have used your EOS R 8 to shoot with a Speedlight and your thoughts about it
Thank you! I generally never use flash for any of my photography so I have not tried it.
That was a wonderful video presentation. You look so happy out there on your vacation. 😊
Sigma recently announced that they are launching several of their popular APS-C lenses also in EOS-R mount, so worth checking out the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 or some other lens for really compact and light setup. The crop mode on R8 gives only 9.4Mpix, but if that's enough, you get 80-90% benefits of APS-C size kit but without buying separate APS-C body.
I honestly don’t like zoom lenses. I’m happy really with my setup as is. If sigma does some RF full frame primes I’ll probably look at them but otherwise I’m not interested
Hi can you tell me which leather case you have for your x100v ? Thanks
I actually got it as a gift so I’m not sure but I believe it was purchased from Amazon
The problem with these older cameras being a bunch of circuit boards put together, is that they can go dead anytime and repairs will cost you more than the $600-$700 you paid for it. A quick search and you can see so many that are selling “For parts or repair”.
Mine is fine. I’m not worried.
What pro must filter are you ralking about? Can i gave full name of brand and model so i can look it up? What effect does it adds? Thanks.
Just buy an A7C with waaaaaaay more flexibility
I had one. I hated it. Not for me.
❤👍🙏
Found your video when searching fujifilm photos at Disney lol I love your work and can’t wait to take my x100vi to Disneyland this November!
Aww thank you! Have so much fun!
My setup is similar but X-E4 with 18mm and XF10 which is 18.2mm fixed lens like the X70. I also have an old X-M1 with a 27mm just for the old sensor.
It's a great camera
Alot of what you asked for is provided by the x-s20. The xe4 could also be a good option too. The x100vi also has some quality of life features in the software. Agreed: we NEED a new x70!!
I personally don’t like the xs20 so it wasn’t for me. I’m very happy with the size and style of the Fujis I have (definitely don’t want a larger grip or body in general) but it would be cool to see some of these features in future models that I’m interested in when I can upgrade. But I would absolutely love an x70 successor the most haha
@@AllieBishopphoto check out the half cases by Kaza Deluxe. On my xt3 and x100V it gives the right grip without adding crazy bulk, plus it protects.
Allie, I really appreciate your videos. I am a Fujifilm shooter like yourself and we are big Disney fans as well. I did pick up a X100vi and wanted your opinion on an upcoming Disney trip. I am contemplating taking only the X100vi to an upcoming Disney trip during the Christmas Holiday however I have a bit of FOBO. I am wondering if i should bring my X-T5 with the 35mm F1.4 or 23mm F1.4 for low light nighttime Christmas lights portraits and or the 18-55. Too many options ! LOL I look forward to your response and hope you have a great day.
Oh man! I understand the struggle!! I took my x100v as well as my xt30ii with some lenses and if I’m honest I really only used my x100v for 98% of the photos. While I loved the photos I got out of my xt30ii, I don’t feel like I would’ve missed anything had I not had it with me. (Other than maybe high quality parade photos with a telephoto lens but I really only did those because a family member is in the parade) I found that it was so easy just having my x100v around my neck all day to get any shot I needed and was so quick to put away for rides. I also used a pro mist filter which I think really added to the Disney vibe of my photos. Now all that being said, I’m headed out west soon and even though I’m sure I’d be perfectly happy with just my x100v, I’m still bringing my xt30ii and some lenses 😅 that’s more of a rare trip for me so I want to be sure I have whatever I could want.
Also I think if I had to pick just one lens to bring on my xt30ii it would probably be my 35 f1.4 for portraits if needed.
Very long time I search for Fuji X100V but unfortunately it’s sold out, finally I preordered Fuji X100VI the new one , I am waiting to receive it soon, I am sure both models are perfect for travel with compact camera with prime fix lens with amazing video, slow motion, time lapse, without forgetting awesome Fuji’s color 🤗
1. manual focus with focus zone and is your setting on Continuous focus?? in stead of Single....
It’s on continuous. Fuji does not refocus after each shot on the interval timer. Using manual is not what I want to do and would take too much time.
@@AllieBishopphoto ok i shoot more and more manual with peaking...put it on M get the peak... but ok everybody has different needs. have fun.
Excellent video, I loved your thoughts 😊
By chance I visited a secret photograpy shop carrying my x100V. I learned that they had stock of the V1 prior to the 28 Feb launch but could post on 26th, arrive on the 28th. I had no knowlege or plans to buy the V! Hell, I just bought it. Ibis for me is a huge win. Hand holding at quarter second opens up a load of possiblities. It also helps avoid using F16 etc. Doubling the sensor size made no difference for me. Have to say buying the camera re-kindled my enthusiasm, made me re-evaluate a lot of settings and recipies again. Now back on youtube for the first time in 6 months, checking out how different people set up their cameras. I'm a better judge of good and bad advice now. I've a 7400 shutter count in 15 days. Clearly a refresher for both the camera and me. Your x100V is still good.
Before someone comes at me, you can see I still have my Canon cameras on me so I’m not just using this for weddings 🤪 just for extra fun photos 🫶🏻📷
The best camera is the one you have and works best for your creative style. Brand snobs are ridiculous. There's really no superior brand. In my opinion, photography is about the image and creative beauty, not a label.
Your passion for photography and cameras is inspiring. I'm a hobbyist (for MANY years) and find your enthusiasm for the craft a joy to listen to! BTW I am a Fuji and Canon enthusiast as well! Both for COMPLETELY different reasons...
Wow, thank you! Thats so great to hear!
Try zone focusing by acquiring the autofocus distance you need and then flicking to manual. The focus will stay locked on him as long as he doesn't move too far from the hyperfocal distance. Set the aperture between f/5.6 and f/8, giving you the best focus zone. Of course, you won't get that wide-open look. Regards B
My 18 y/o daughter starting showing an interest in photography, so I gave her my X-T20. She's got an artistic eye, and I watched this video dreaming of her one day talking the talk the way you just did. 😄 Maybe!
What about switching to continuous focus with eye tracking on? I know single focus doesn't re focus but I seem to remember continuous did?
Not with the interval timer unfortunately. I’ve tried it many times. Maybe on the newest sensor cameras but not the xt30ii or x100v
New subscriber, fuji shooter.👌
I’ve been shooting on Sony for the last 6 years and I’m just so bored of the photos having switched over from a Canon 5D mark iii. I want to purchase my first Fuji and I think im set on the x70. In your opinion is it still worth it?
I’ve really really enjoyed the x70! Perfect pocket camera. Not as good in low light and the focus can be a bit slow but otherwise it’s great!
